Divorce, Please: The Young Master Does Not Love Me
Chapter 391: A Love with Nowhere to Go
LK Group, inside the CEO’s office.
Tristan Grayson stood before the floor-to-ceiling window, his gaze somber and sorrowful as he watched the vehicles below.
"Boss, Young Master Quincy has arrived."
At the sound of his voice, Tristan Grayson pulled his gaze back. He turned to see a man walking in through the doorway.
The man was dressed in a black sweatsuit with a black baseball cap, a black face mask, and black sunglasses.
The man reached up, removed his sunglasses and mask, and strode over to pull Tristan Grayson into a tight hug. He grinned. "Uncle, long time no see! You’re getting more handsome every day!"
Tristan Grayson’s face was cold and stern. He glanced at Henry Archer, who took the hint with a knowing smile and quickly turned to exit the room.
Only after he saw Henry Archer close the office door did Tristan Grayson coldly push the man off him. "You’re a grown man," he said, his voice full of annoyance. "Why do you still act like a child every time we meet?"
"But I am a child! In front of you, Uncle, I’ll always be a child," Quincy Grayson said, tilting his head back smugly.
Tristan Grayson looked at him, a headache coming on. "I had you come back, but not to fool around."
"I know, I know. Don’t worry, Uncle. With the two of us working together, we’ll definitely restore LK to its former glory!"
"I’ll give you three days to get over your jet lag. Go home and rest for now."
Quincy Grayson put on an aggrieved expression. "Hey, that’s heartless. I just got here, and we’ve barely said two words."
"Your grandparents miss you very much. Go home."
"Alright, alright. Is Tiana home?"
"Yes."
Quincy Grayson put his mask and sunglasses back on. "Then I’ll go see Tiana," he said, feigning grievance.
Watching Quincy Grayson leave, Tristan Grayson sank back onto the sofa, his eyes filled with exhaustion.
’If it wasn’t absolutely necessary, he never would have asked Quincy to come back.’
’For all these years, he’s done very well for himself out there. He didn’t need to return to the Grayson Family...’
Not long after Quincy left, Henry Archer came in again. He was holding a file folder and said to Tristan Grayson, "Boss, this is the investigation report from Sheldon Rhodes."
"Okay." Tristan Grayson nodded and took it.
He opened the folder, took out the documents inside, and after a brief scan, his expression grew grim. "Go get Ian Shaw."
"Yes, sir."
Seeing his boss’s dark expression, Henry Archer didn’t dare to delay for a second. He turned and left to get the man.
Less than five minutes later, Ian Shaw arrived from his own office.
When he saw Tristan Grayson sitting on the sofa, clutching the file, Ian Shaw said nothing. Instead, he walked over, plucked the documents from Tristan’s hand, glanced down at them, and sneered, "You’re only just now realizing something’s wrong?"
"The last time I saw him, I thought he looked familiar, but it wasn’t until I heard him introduce himself that I felt something was off. Over two years ago, Mika Summers almost lost her life trying to keep a computer from falling into Jason Lockwood’s hands.
"But the man in the video on that computer—the one that was supposed to have been destroyed—was none other than Silas Kent.
"Once you realize that, it all makes sense. The powerful force behind X Group is the Kent Family.
"Archie Lockwood leaked the group’s secrets, naturally antagonizing the Kent Family. They were bound to retaliate and destroy him, but Archie found Silas Kent and made a deal.
"He handed over full control of X Group to Silas, and in return, Silas guaranteed he would get out of Austerra alive.
"Archie had Howard Rhodes record a video at the time as insurance, just in case Silas went back on his word. If he did, the video would undoubtedly be delivered to the head of the Kent Family...
"At that point, it would have meant mutually assured destruction."
Ian Shaw said, "So, you suspect he has an ulterior motive for getting close to Mika Summers?"
"Maybe. Yes," Tristan Grayson murmured, his gaze falling as he lowered his head.
