Doted By The Regent King
Chapter 1579 - 1517: You’re So Slow
After Princess Yonghe and Wufu fell off the cliff, they couldn’t be found. Some people stayed up all night, but those who turned the place upside down slept peacefully through the night.
The next day, Wufu felt her body very heavy upon waking. She touched her forehead, feeling slightly feverish. After all, autumn had set in, and spending the night in such a wilderness, eating in the wind and sleeping in the dew, how could one stay healthy?
"Get up." Wufu shook her head, looked at the fire that had already gone out leaving only smoke, and forced herself to call out.
No response.
With furrowed brows, Wufu looked over and saw Yonghe curled up like a shrimp, unable to help but sigh.
The royal Dragon Gate Phoenix Lady, this must be her first experience, right? She pushed her, but Yonghe still didn’t respond.
Wufu became anxious, flipped her over, and sure enough saw her little face reddish.
"Damn it!" Wufu moved her hand from Yonghe’s forehead, the high fever had indeed started.
"Cold, I’m cold." Yonghe mumbled in her sleep.
Wufu rubbed her aching body, grabbed some branches again, and rekindled a fire. Then she found a stone with a groove, filled it with water, and set it on the fire to heat.
Given the poor physical condition of both of them, moving forward was unlikely. First, they needed to replenish some energy. 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂
Once the water was heated, Wufu poured it into another stone bowl, fed Yonghe, and then took a large sip herself, the hot water making her body feel much more comfortable.
"Wufu?" Yonghe opened her eyes with effort.
"We have to leave." Wufu packed her things, helped Yonghe up, and asked, "Can you walk?"
Yonghe bit her lip and nodded, standing up to stagger along with her.
Wufu didn’t walk in any other direction but followed the downstream of the water. They hadn’t gone far before Yonghe collapsed to the ground.
"I can’t walk anymore." Yonghe began to cry. She knew she was ill but blamed no one, accepting it as fate.
Wufu nearly cursed at the sky but knelt down: "Get up!"
Yonghe hesitated for a moment: "But you’re hurt too."
It was precisely because she was not taking it for granted, and knew to empathize and apologize, that Wufu bothered with her; otherwise, she wouldn’t care.
"Stop talking, hurry up." Wufu’s head was also dizzy.
Yonghe gritted her teeth and climbed onto Wufu’s back.
Carrying her, Wufu walked downwards without speaking to conserve her energy.
Yonghe spoke softly, but Wufu occasionally responded with a couple of hmms, then Yonghe stopped speaking, feeling too dizzy.
An hour after they had left, a Hidden Guard arrived at the fire, carefully identifying it and calling out: "Here."
Chi Er rushed forward, looked at the code left on the stone, and said: "It’s the girl who left it." Then, looking at the smoking fire, he said: "She should have just left not long ago."
Seeing the code, he let out a relieved breath. The girl was still alive, which was good; otherwise, he wouldn’t dare see the prince’s face.
"The girl said that if lost, we should follow the direction of the water, this way." Chi Liu pointed towards downstream.
"Go." Ah Jiu’s tense face slightly relaxed.
The group used Qinggong and quickly headed downstream. In just an hour, they saw people ahead, and couldn’t help but rejoice: "Miss?"
Wufu paused, turned around, saw Ah Jiu rushing towards her, put Yonghe down, and managed to smile at him: "You’re so slow!"
Ah Jiu glared at her hard, about to speak, but saw her softly collapse: "I can finally faint!"
Ah Jiu held her, his entire body stiff.
The people behind saw this and lowered their heads, hoping that when she wakes, she can withstand the prince’s fury.
