Dragon Blood Saint Emperor
Chapter 359 - 360: Clash of Geniuses (Part 2)
Dii Qingxue was a disciple of the Ancient Spirit Sect. Everyone knew that, so how could she be a member of Lingxiao Pavilion?
The crowd had its suspicions, but they quickly dismissed the thought.
But what no one understood was why she had specifically challenged Qing Xun.
Down below the Battle Platform, the members of the Cyan Race looked grim upon hearing Dii Qingxue’s challenge. Qing Xun was their last hope.
If he were to lose now, on top of his previous defeat, Qing Xun would have no chance of making it into the top ten and competing for the title of Strongest Warrior!
"Do you accept? If not, then forfeit."
After a moment, the giant elder in the sky turned his head to ask Qing Xun. To not accept was to forfeit?
"Forfeit." That one word stabbed into Qing Xun’s heart like a dagger. For the so-called number one genius, that single word was the ultimate humiliation!
Qing Xun’s gaze was somber as he stared at Dii Qingxue, whose eyes were just as icy. In her gaze, Qing Xun saw a flicker of killing intent.
’Dii Qingxue... wants to kill me!’
Instantly, his pupils constricted, and his heart lurched. Dii Qingxue was incredibly strong; after all, even Ruo Xiangyi, who was considered her equal, had already been defeated.
’If she wants to kill me, then...’
’Damn it, how could I be afraid of her? I’m the number one genius of the Cyan Race, at the Spiritual Spring Sixth Layer! It’s not yet decided who will win or lose.’
Qing Xun cursed himself internally. His gaze sharpened as he responded, "I, Qing Xun, accept!"
Upon hearing his acceptance, Dii Qingxue’s expression remained placid, betraying no emotion. Gao Jie would be left to Ye Wushuang, which meant Qing Xun was hers. She would take Qing Xun’s life for Ye Wushuang’s sake.
BOOM!
With that, Qing Xun strode onto the Battle Platform. ’So what if Dii Qingxue is strong? Am I weak? It’s not certain who will lose this fight!’
"Green Snake Devouring the Heavens!"
Facing Dii Qingxue, Qing Xun did not hold back, immediately unleashing a powerful Combat Skill. Nine massive serpents rose up behind him, writhing like a chaotic dance of dragons as they surged toward Dii Qingxue.
Cyan energy enveloped the area, exuding a sinister cold and whipping up a storm that made the Battle Platform itself tremble.
At the same time, Dii Qingxue’s figure blurred into motion.
She strode forward, bathed in a silver radiance. An overwhelming killing intent flooded the area. A bright moon materialized within the silver light before whirling out.
SWISH!
The sound of something shattering rang out. The silver radiance flared, suddenly erupting into a curtain of light that descended from the void, instantly severing the head of one of the giant serpents.
"You only took off one head! I refuse to believe you can sever the other eight at once."
Qing Xun roared as True Essence surged from his body. The remaining eight giant serpents swelled in size, their massive heads descending upon Dii Qingxue as if to devour the very heavens.
Silver light radiated from Dii Qingxue, forming a protective barrier that instantly rose to block Qing Xun’s attack.
"It ends now!"
The three cold words floated from Dii Qingxue’s lips. A ray of brilliant light shot out from between her brows, materializing into a Crescent Saber.
Slash!
The Crescent Saber soared into the air, shining like an ascending moon and causing the entire Battle Platform to brighten suddenly. An aura of destruction began to spread, suffused with an icy killing intent that seemed to permeate heaven and earth, making everyone shudder uncontrollably!
"That saber... it’s terrifying!"
The crowd’s gazes were locked onto the Crescent Saber. It was small and exquisite, yet it radiated endless destruction.
They watched as it rose high into the firmament, divided into nine blades, then spun back down, effortlessly severing the heads of the remaining eight giant serpents.
"Your life ends now, too!" Dii Qingxue uttered, as the final Crescent Saber slashed toward Qing Xun.
’My life ends now, too?’
’Dii Qingxue really wants to kill me. But why? Why?’
AAAGH!
Qing Xun let out a bloodcurdling scream as the Crescent Saber pierced the center of his forehead. His body toppled over, sprawling onto the Battle Platform.
Qing Xun was dead!
The eyes of the crowd widened in shock. Dii Qingxue had killed Qing Xun.
"Impossible!"
The Lord of the Cyan Race roared from below like a madman. "Ancient Spirit Sect! You’ve destroyed my clan’s genius! I will not rest until one of us is annihilated!"
With Qing Xun dead, not only was the Cyan Race’s journey on the Barbarian God Battle Platform over, but they had also lost a genius. Like the Seven Kills Family, their defeat was absolute.
"On the Battle Platform, life and death are determined by fate. Weren’t you of the Cyan Race just preparing to kill someone? Now that you’ve been killed in return, you’ve only gotten what you deserve. A war to the death? So what? The Ancient Spirit Sect accepts your challenge."
Nangong Liuyun stated coldly.
"Fine! Fine! Fine!"
The Lord of the Cyan Race roared, "The Cyan Race will not let this matter rest!"
We will not let this rest!
With that single sentence, everyone understood the unyielding resolve in his voice. From this day forward, the conflict between the Cyan Race and the Ancient Spirit Sect would not end until one was destroyed!
The leaders of several other factions sneered, their minds already churning with various schemes.
On the Battle Platform, however, Dii Qingxue’s expression remained unchanged as she heard the words of the Cyan Race. She turned and walked off the platform. She had no regrets about killing Qing Xun. Given the choice, she would do it again.
"I killed Qing Xun. You aren’t angry with me, are you?" Dii Qingxue walked up to Ye Wushuang and looked at him, her beautiful eyelashes fluttering slightly as she posed the question.
"Of course not," Ye Wushuang replied with a faint smile, his gaze meeting hers.
"You’re up next," Dii Qingxue said with a nod. She averted her gaze and stepped to the side. It seemed she could never win a staring contest against Ye Wushuang.
Ye Wushuang smiled faintly before retracting his gaze to look toward Gao Jie of the Celestial Sword Sect. ’Now, he’s mine to take care of!’
The battle concluded. Pann Wu fought next, and won!
Yang Dingtian took the stage, and he too was victorious!
In the last match, it was finally Ye Wushuang’s turn.
Ye Wushuang stepped onto the Battle Platform once again. His opponent was from Yunhuang Hall.
The moment the man stepped onto the stage, he radiated immense hostility toward Ye Wushuang.
"What did you do to Senior Sister Mengg?" the young man asked coldly, his voice low and full of anger.
"Senior Sister Mengg?"
Ye Wushuang paused, stunned. He glanced over at Mengg Yiren, who was standing off to the side, and saw her eyes radiating a coldness so intense it was as if she wanted to devour him whole.
A corner of Ye Wushuang’s mouth lifted into a smirk. He turned his head and asked, "You mean Mengg Yiren?"
"That’s right. What exactly did you do to her? You’d better explain yourself, or I’ll make you wish you were dead."
The young man’s fists clenched. Mengg Yiren was the woman he loved—and had for a long time. So when he heard that Ye Wushuang had potentially done something depraved to her?
His fury instantly ignited. He had to hear the truth from Ye Wushuang’s own lips. ’If nothing happened, great. But if something did... Ye Wushuang must die today!’
Little did the young man know, however, that his words had caused a massive stir in the crowd. What *had* Ye Wushuang done to Mengg Yiren?
That single question sent everyone’s imagination running wild, and their gazes turned strange and suggestive.
Nearby, Mengg Yiren heard her teammate’s words and knew this was bad. As she scanned the crowd, she saw everyone looking at her with the same suggestive gazes.
’Idiot!’
She cursed inwardly, mortified. To say that in front of everyone... Any explanation now would be useless.
’A pig for a teammate!’
She glared at the young man, cursing him again in her heart, wishing she could go up on stage and kill him herself.
’I hope that jerk explains things clearly, otherwise...’
As the thought occurred to her, Mengg Yiren turned toward the white-robed figure. Even though she still wanted to kill him on the spot.
However.
Right now, she could only pray that he wouldn’t say anything reckless. Otherwise, the situation would become truly impossible to explain!
