Dual Cultivation: Ying Yang is way to Chaos
Chapter 400: Stone Stele
After a few more days of moving around the mountain range, Lin Feng sighed in reluctance. He did find some ghosts but it wasn’t enough to make him reach the late stage.
This area seemed to be devoid of them, which meant he had to stop searching for them. In the end he decided to finally make his way to the core area.
This section of the region where he was right now is in the Jade Temptation Sect’s territory. The inheritance site is also in their territory but it is in an area which is far from the sect and is basically unrestricted.
The core region isn’t a small place, it was very vast so these sects were only able to control nearby territories, most of the area inside it was just wilderness.
Nonetheless, Jade Temptation Sect wouldn’t have been able to restrict anyone either given the fact that other sects would have joined hands to force them not to do so.
This inheritance site was special in itself after all, only fated cultivators were allowed inside.
Lin Feng covered himself in a thin layer of yang blood qi and began flying inside the most affected area of the Central Region.
This layer of yang qi would be enough to wade through this darkness. He had to come down a lot to see the land to get reference from the map but when he saw the ground he shook his head, it would be quite harder than he had imagined.
The ground was corroded and sliced everywhere he could see, there were no trees or spirit herbs but the thing that put him on edge was the mountains or the cities.
If this is the effect on the outer fringes of the core area then wouldn’t some mountains or cities be already unrecognizable dust in deeper parts. How would he understand the map then?
He could only hope that something was left to make him understand his general location or else he would be lost in this darkness.
Nonetheless he wasn’t afraid, he could always move through the void in a particular direction to get out of this area.
As he began moving inside, the first thing that appeared in his path after an hour was a river which was bisected in multiple places. It was still flowing calmly, filling all the cuts going through it with water.
Lin Feng had seen this river on the map and seeing it reassured him that he was moving on the right path till now.
As he moved even further, a few more noticeable landmarks appeared in his path but the deeper they were, the harder it was to recognize them.
After a few days later Lin Feng reached the place where there should have been three heaven touching mountains, nestling a deep valley in which the Jade Temptation Sect was located...but in front of him was just the base of three mountains with the valley being totally cut into so many sections that it was impossible to see anything that resembled the fact that it was one of the strongest sects in the Central Region. 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎
This is a clear indication that he was reaching near the location where his grandmother actually blocked the attack.
A place which might not have been seen by anyone since everyone within thousands of miles would have died instantly.
He looked at the minimal remains of the Jade Temptation Sect and started going towards the location where the actual inheritance was supposed to be.
As he went deeper, it was becoming very tough to move in a straight path. His speed had been slowed down a lot too. It was because the amount of spatial tears present in this core area was unimaginable.
Sometimes there were so many that he had to trigger them to clear the path and wait for the overwhelming darkness inside them to disperse before moving forward.
This is the reason why it took him a few days to reach the location of Jade Temptation Sect.
It was an arduous journey but nothing compared to his void tribulation.
...
After a month later, Lin Feng was looking at an unbelievable scene. There was a tall stele standing on a small mountain which was totally untouched by the spatial fractures.
Only darkness covered it making it completely barren. Nonetheless, it served its purpose of holding the stone stele.
Lin Feng looked around the mountain and understood everything. This was not only the place of the inheritance but also the place where his grandmother appeared after teleportation.
It means that this is the origin of the destruction itself. The reason why this mountain was untouched by spatial fractures is because it was just beneath the impact zone.
The spatial fractures spread in all directions after the Dao Bone got destroyed but it didn’t affect the location below the impact.
He had to say Daoist Karmic might have not known about the actual events leading to the destruction of the Central Region but he definitely had foreseen the destruction itself and he also found the safest place possible.
To be able to pinpoint with such precision is quite terrifying but he wasn’t surprised or shocked, this was one of the strongest figures in this heavenly realm.
He was still not able to remember the other nine immortality holders but the moment he saw the Karmic Compass and remembered Daoist Karmic, he also remembered that he was one of the oldest seat holders.
He had vanished a long time ago and no one knows where he had gone. Not to mention no one challenged Daoist Karmic in the heavenly challenge, so it wasn’t necessary for him to appear.
Others thought that he was dead somewhere but it wasn’t possible given the fact that there was no empty seat in the previous heavenly challenge.
To think he would be the first person to come across things which would point towards Daoist Karmic.
Who would have thought that Daoist Karmic would be interested in a small lower world like this which were considered barren worlds by those living in the Heavenly World.
