Chapter 427: Judgement Eye

Xuan Xue found an icy rock and sat down in meditation.

"Will master face a tribulation again?" Mu Yao asked curiously.

She and Lin Feng were standing a little far away with Hei Ying beside them.

Lin Feng gave a slight nod. "Yes..."

This tribulation was going to be quite different from the usual tribulations. First of all, it wasn’t meant to test the cultivators going through it, so there was no need to worry about getting injured or killed if you wavered.

It was more like an epiphany, it would give you enough insights to take the final step towards your path.

This didn’t mean that it was without any repercussions. In the end this tribulation only induced a state of epiphany, not an actual epiphany, so you had to make sure to comprehend the last step while going through the tribulation itself.

If you failed to do so then it would take decades or even centuries before you felt your tribulation again, in the worst scenario, you might never get the chance to go through the tribulation again unless you used some heavenly treasure.

So overall, if your comprehension ability was higher, then the benefits you get from the tribulation were also higher as you could glimpse more insights into your path than just breaking through to the next realm.

The other thing that was different in this tribulation was the heavens itself.

Lin Feng could feel the changes around his master, she was only few breaths away from her tribulation.

He looked towards the heavens but there were no tribulation clouds gathering above their heads, instead the whole sky gave off a vast overwhelming presence.

"W-What is that?" Mu Yao’s body trembled in trepidation as she was also looking towards the sky.

She wasn’t the only one, almost all the living beings who were able to lay their eyes on it asked the same question.

A deep long spatial tear appeared above Xuan Xue’s head and inside that tear was a behemoth swirling sphere made of unknown qi.

If someone observed it deeply then both the tear and the sphere together looked like a giant eye, as if the heavens had opened it to look towards it’s creations.

It wouldn’t be a wrong assumption as it was the Judgement Eye of the true heavens. It appeared whenever the heavens of weaker worlds were not strong enough to uphold the heavenly laws.

This Judgement Eye induced a feeling of suppression in every living being watching it and Lin Feng felt it more thoroughly due to his battle sense, this feeling was something he would never forget.

Even at his peak he felt that going against it would mean perishing instantly without reincarnation, a true death through and through.

Xuan Xue felt that suffocating presence too and since she didn’t have much left to do, she turned her gaze upward.

Her eyes widened slightly and in the next moment, the giant swirling sphere turned into a turbulent chaotic sphere and finally it struck down.

Xuan Xue was hit by a torrent of chaotic qi, it felt like she was covered in a chaotic dimension where nothing but chaos existed.

She felt as if she could control everything here but when she tried to do it, she felt that her understanding fell short.

There was something missing, something that was very hard to grasp but it also felt like that thing was present inside this chaotic dimension itself and all she needed was to find it.

The moment this thought appeared in her mind, she felt like she saw what she was looking for but it disappeared before her mind could even process it.

She began looking around to search for it again in all the chaos around her and it didn’t take long before it appeared again before disappearing in a similar manner.

Xuan Xue felt an immense urge to just frantically search for it but she didn’t given in to her thoughts. She knew that this chaotic qi was trying to turn her mind into chaos too.

She wouldn’t let that happen, the first step to wielding chaos was to free yourself from it.

Xuan Xue maintained her calm and let the thing she was looking for drift in the chaotic qi. She knew that it was impossible to search for it.

The only other method she could think of was to predict its appearance by understanding the flow of the chaotic qi around her.

If she was able to do it then all she had to do was grab the location where it would appear at the exact time it would really appear.

She had observed the chaos for a long time now, all her thoughts and understanding got merged into her mind to create a unique vision which let her perceive the flow of chaotic qi as turbulent sea waves.

No matter how turbulent the waves were, they seemed predictable to her, after this much time she understood very well that the thing she was looking for always appeared when two waves clashed together.

At a given instance, three to five such locations were formed in this chaotic sea. She could only try to grab two locations and hope for the best.

....

Lin Feng watched the ongoing tribulation expressionlessly. Even though he would go through the same tribulation in the future, trying to glimpse something from someone else’s tribulation was impossible.

This was another difference from the previous tribulations in mortal realm.

There was one thing he was paying attention towards though, presence of the chaos qi inside the tribulation. It looked real but he was sure that it was just an imitation.

"I-It’s so pretty yet terrifying..." Mu Yao voiced out her thoughts as she watched her master being engulfed in the chaotic qi of the tribulation.

The moment she stopped looking at the eye, she felt liberated from the overwhelming presence and because of that she decided to not look at the eye again even when she was curious about what it was.

She wondered if her senior brother knew what it was or not. Usually he would have answered when she had asked about it earlier, so she had feeling that he was oblivious too.
