Dungeon of Niflheim
Chapter 965: A cloaked visitor
Many hours later in the master bedroom Frost donned his robes with a satisfied smile on his face and a spring in his step.
"That was amazing. I didn’t think it was possible to love you two anymore than I already do but there you go." His voice was filled with love and affection as he planted a kiss on both Maya’s and Daki’s cheeks before sauntering out of the room to carry out the day’s tasks.
A couple minutes after he left two groans echoed as Maya and Daki stirred to life. One lying on the bed in a sort of starfish pose, she couldn’t feel any of her limbs and even the slightest brush against the sheets sent tingles through her system. Her stomach protruded, filled to the brim, her skin glistening with a thick layer of sweat and her hair was splayed out as if having encountered a storm. Even her tail appeared bushy and more frazzled than normal.
The other occupant was resting upside down against the bed, her green juicy ass cheeks marred with handprints and slaps turning more than half of it ruby red while her asshole was gaping, wide enough to fit an entire fist inside, streams of a thick white liquid dribbling out and down her thighs.
Frost utterly destroyed them both.
After breaking Daki -proper lube eventually being used in the end- his hunger only grew resulting in Maya having to suffer from his insatiable appetite.
When he left the room the two were barely conscious, catatonic and practically paralysed but they still heard his words as well as the joy and anticipation for similar exchanges behind them.
The kiss on the cheek and mention of love was all well and good, but their bodies instinctively feared future exchanges, Daki’s in particular. Given her experience, appetite and greater courage she always seemed to take the brunt of his lashings. Something she adored in the beginning but now after suffering such bottomless and endless vigour she wanted nothing more than to share the burden.
"When did he say Khione was getting here?" Daki asked while examining the state of her devasted ass.
"...He didn’t." Maya’s voice eventually replied.
"Fuck!"
Over the next five days the Dungeon saw much transition in terms of layout. As decreed during their meeting Frost and Findley expanded the first floor, making it a far larger space while also adding some 1 star mines and quarries with relatively easy access.
It wasn’t just adventurers entering the 1st floor now but miners and couriers who’s sole job was to transport materials from the mines and quarries into the city.
The vast majority of monsters on this floor, a whopping 90% were G-rank with only the last 10% being F-rank. A very safe area even for those with meagre strength thus making even labourers feel bold enough to forage and take on jobs beyond construction and city work.
Frost’s plans were slowly coming together, allowing much of the Dungeon’s material resources to flow into the city and thus establish greater defences and an all round more developed territory.
In his mind the city and Dungeon were indistinguishable, both parts of his controlled territory.
Kranor’s mayor Yarrow called during the 2nd day to let Frost know about their difficulties in regards to managing the regular trade caravans between their two territories.
With the war heating up in the Glacial mountains’ inner regions, borders were closed refusing regular convoys while those that still functioned were often beset by bandits or forces that were disguised as bandits.
Although Frost’s territory wasn’t all that far from Kranor the trip was still incredibly risky thus to avoid a loss in spoils and to maintain their close relationship Yarrow along with his daughter Lola who was set to succeed him decided to reduce the frequency of the caravans, choosing instead to embark with higher quantities of goods as well as more security personnel. If they kept the smaller caravans then they’d have to up their security to prevent attack which would eat into their profits perhaps even turn a gain into a loss so a bigger caravan albeit being more disastrous if lost offered a more lucrative return even with the added security.
Frost completely understood and told Yarrow not to worry about the trade caravans too much as he knew that a small enclave like Kranor was at risk during such tumultuous times. If their security wasn’t high enough it wouldn’t be just the caravans that would come under attack.
In the end Frost even consulted with Ringwald, looking to hire adventurers to serve as added protection for these caravans and perhaps even reinforcements for Kranor itself.
As long as sufficient rewards were offered and given that it wasn’t too deep into the glacial mountains then Ringwald expected that more than a few parties would be willing, groups that specialised in protection rather than outright hunting.
Niflheim already housed several of such parties given the amount of caravans passing through their gates.
Within a day arrangements were made, and Yarrow felt a weight lifted from his shoulders. Being a denizen of the glacial mountains he was very aware of the threat to small territories like his own if the current rulers were to be dethroned. The War Ursa Battalion kept balance, restraining most pillaging and aggression between those dwelling within the external regions thus he sincerely hoped for their victory but after hearing about the true gravity of the situation from Frost his mind was awash with panic.
But unfortunately beyond the occasional trade and a few adventurer additions they were on their own. Frost had enough on his plate to deal with and even if he didn’t he was just one man, one man with mere B-rank strength, hardly enough to alter the fate of a war of this scale.
No, victory or defeat lay solely on Duke Runak’s shoulders.
Late on the third day Bastion and Ryuu got in touch, bringing him up to speed on their preparations. They planned to send some reinforcements to Icethorne within the coming week and hoped Frost would support such an endeavour.
Of course since he agreed to their alliance Frost was more than willing, but he advised them not to rush and ensure a sufficient force was prepared before setting out. A small contingent even if elites would not only be a drop in the bucket for this war but liable to encounter danger before even arriving.
The Viscount and his trusted court mage took these words to heart realising that they may have underestimated the problem at hand. It wouldn’t do for their reinforcements to arrive in a haphazard state due to attacks enroute.
The war had only just begun, the enemy’s main force perhaps not yet arrived at Icethorne’s gates. Duke Runak declared a guarantee of 3 months so there was still time for them to do this right.
Douglas therefore extended the time for recruitment by an additional 3 days. More may not necessarily guarantee a greater force as there was a limit to what they could arrange after all.
With such plans in place, the Dungeon and city both developing as intended Frost allowed himself to relax somewhat. He spent time with his lovers his relentless aggression easing somewhat as the days past and his pent up desires were satisfied. Trained with Loki, Nanna and Kiba after his recovery, the young tiger being much more enthusiastic towards training after his almost failed trial.
He also discussed several problems with the council, particularly Calder in regards to buying in much needed resources, the prices were already starting to skyrocket revealing the onset of the civil war in earnest. Thankfully with the additions of mines and quarries the materials side had been alleviated somewhat but that was only one part of the city’s many, many development needs.
Every day he’d have to read through reports, attend council meetings and have one on one private interactions with individual council members so they could complain in person about their difficulties and misgivings. Yuna who had been in charge during his absence mysteriously vanished on occasion right before something tedious occurred...abandoning her master in his time of need.
The Lunar maidens were shocked and quite frankly very resistant to the idea of a brothel, but they did follow his orders to interact with the populace. They started with his monsters since they had a similar connection to him, giving them a sense of familiarity before gradually stepping into the city itself. The process would be slow but eventually their innate arrogance and disdain for others would be grounded out making it easier for them to adjust to working in the brothel.
The four children weren’t as brainwashed as their elders thus with Kiba, Nanna and Loki’s support they started taking rudimentary classes in the city with other children though they still concealed over 90% of their bodies it was a good start.
Neve following Findley was quick to pick up her new duties, acting as a role model for her kin and helping facilitate this change. As Findley’s secretary/assistant she even facilitated an audience between Frost and the group of frost troll witchdoctors in charge of healing wounded and teaching Loki medical skills.
According to the witchdoctors although the Dungeon was rich in ores and monster materials it was sorely lacking in flora, making it rather unattractive to alchemists and doctors. Loki would find it hard to meet a proper teacher if the Dungeon remained in its current state.
Hearing this Frost agreed wholeheartedly and ordered the leader of the witchdoctors to write up a report and submit it to Findley for review. Unfortunately the Dungeon was lacking in saved DP and its purse strings in terms of income was heavily geared for the war effort so he couldn’t just add whatever he wanted then and there, it needed to be thoroughly vetted first.
On the fifth day however Frost’s regular schedule and his state of relaxation was brought to a sudden halt.
"What is this?"
