Elven Encounter With A Blood Seeker
Chapter 180: Nostalgic Memories
Xiran didn’t want to leave Aselia alone, he knew it wasn’t safe anymore. His father knew about her existence and would stop at nothing to snatch her away. This had added to his worries, this place was no longer safe.
While they were discussing their next plan of action Rivan called:
"Hey, Xi, I am keeping Irlana with me for now. I called to say it would be better if you and Aselia move to my secret hideout. It’s not advisable to keep living here," Rivan had voiced Xiran’s thoughts.
"Yes, I was just thinking the same, I have to go meet Warise, can you come and take Aselia along? I will return once I am done with the investigation and have made sure we don’t have any more hidden threats," Xiran confided to his friend. He knew only Rivan would be able to keep her safe.
"Sure, I am on my way. Tell Aselia to get ready, I will take her with me, will take me half an hour or so," Rivan cut the call after that.
Xiran turned to Aselia and told her the plan and asked her to take everything she needed along. Although she didn’t want to part from him, she knew this needed to be done or he would keep worrying about her.
"Alright, I will go get changed," she patted his shoulder before getting up and grabbing her clutch along with her phone. She wanted to head over to her room so she could change.
"Leia..." Xiran called her as she reached the door and she stopped to turn around and face him.
He followed her and wrapped her in his arms before whispering: "Listen to Rivan, I will come to you as soon as I can. But I have a huge responsibility so it might take me some time. I had decided to spend this whole weekend with you but fate had other plans."
His words held his desperation and the heavy burdens of his wounded heart.
"I understand, don’t worry. I will wait for you," she replied with a smile and he softly kissed her lips before letting her go. She blushed, although she didn’t want him to leave, she understood he had to. 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞
Aselia made her way to her room while Xiran went on to visit Warise. Reaching her room, she opened the cupboard and took out a pair of blue jeans and
red hoodie.
Taking off Xiran’s shirt she neatly folded it and placed it in her hand carrier. This would be her nightshirt from now on. She didn’t need anything else, all her clothes were already packed.
She put on her clothes and brushed her hair. Opening the drawer of her dressing table, she extracted a bandana headband and adorned her hair with it to keep them from falling into her eyes. She then mosturised her face and sat down with her phone in her hand to wait for Rivan.
A few minutes later, there was a knock on the door.
"Yes," Aselia replied calmly and Frila entered.
"Hey! Are you ready?" She inquired with a slight smile.
"I am," Aselia replied and got up. Frila took her hand carrier.
"Señor Rivan is here to pick you up, let’s go," both women made their way out of the room to the parking lot.
Frila handed over Aselia’s hand carrier to Rivan’s chauffeur and hugged Aselia before saying:
"Take care of yourself, I hope to see you back here."
"Me too, Frila," Aselia hugged her back. The chauffeur opened the back door of Rivan’s black car and Aselia letting go of her friend, got in.
Rivan was sitting on the other end of the seat.
"Hello! Rivan," Aselia greeted him with a smile.
"Hey! How are you holding up?" He inquired crossing his arms. He was clad in a three piece as usual.
"Not bad considering everything. Only wishing I could have spent the week with Xiran as planned," Aselia answered with a hint of sadness in her voice.
"He will return to you soon, my duty is to keep you safe until then. His father doesn’t know about my hideout, or so I would like to believe. This place he has visited multiple times. Now, courtesy of that woman I hired who claims to be Xiran’s sister. His father knows Xiran has someone close to him and believe me he will stop at nothing to snatch you away from him."
Rivan sighed so heavily after this that Aselia could sense the agitation he was feeling.
"I am not afraid of his father, Rivan. But I don’t want him to hurt Xiran, that’s why I chose to go with you," Aselia added keeping her gaze on the brown-haired vampire.
"Silah, it makes me happy to see you have grown up into a strong independent woman. But it also pains me to know that you are so consumed with revenge that you hurt the people who only held your best interests."
Aselia’s heart sank a bit seeing he had used her real name, he remembered her. He was the only person who had that memory intact.
"I never got the chance to thank you for saving my life all those years ago. And also to apologize for my actions, the way I hurt Xiran, the way I hurt you. Have it in your heart to forgive me, if you can," Aselia apologized, her tone soft and shoulders slumped. She owed this man too much.
"I understand your actions Aselia, doesn’t mean I approve of them for they hurt my friend and I hate people who hurt him. Yet, I don’t hate you, for once you mean a lot to him. For second I still remember you as a six-year-old, frightened out of her wits who held my hand and asked if everything would be alright. I still remember you had two ponytails and red ribbons in your hair that day."
Rivan’s words had nostalgia to them and Aselia couldn’t help but feel it. How she wished she had remembered both these men who had saved her life.
