Chapter 40: Xiran’s wrath

Back in the kitchen, Frila returned to fetch Aselia. Not finding her in the kitchen she inquired from Madam Marci about her.

"Señor, called me to send her to room 23. She went 15 minutes ago." All the colour on Frila’s face drained in that instant. She knew very well who was staying in that room.

"Noooo, Madam Marci. Señor was in his room and he had just called me to fetch Aselia. What have you done?" She quickly dialled Xiran’s number as she rushed out of the kitchen to get Carios as well.

Xiran picked up on the second bell, he had just woken up after sleeping very late last night due to his commitments with the ongoing investigation.

"Seño...r, we ha..ve a problem," Frila was breathless as if she was running. "What happened?"

"Aselia... she is in Xifin and Sohlia’s room." Xiran stumbled out of the bed at these words as if he had been struck by a thunderbolt. He opened the door and sprinted toward their room or one could say he almost flew. His emotions were all over the place, he didn’t want to speculate what they must have done to her. Dread and panic washed over him, drenching him to his core. How did that even happen? He will investigate that later, right now all he needed to do was reach her.

Then he heard her scream and call out his name. The world stopped spinning for him in that instant, everything just ceased to exist, only she mattered to him. He knew he would burn this world down just to save her. He kicked open the door to room no 23 with so much force that it was rooted from its hinges and flew to a distance of a few meters before landing with a thud on the floor of the room.

The sight that met his eyes was enough to make his blood boil to the point of no return. Xifin was covered in someone’s blood and his mouth was latched onto Aselia’s throat, while Sohlia had pinned her hands behind her and was sucking her blood from her wrist. Both of them jumped and stepped aside as they heard the door getting knocked down and Xiran’s thundering voice echoed: "GET AWAY FROM HER".

Pure white pair of wings unravelled behind Xiran as he rushed forward and wrapped Aselia in them before she hit the floor, sheltering her from this vicious world, ready to burn it down if he had to. His grey orbs were scorching with hate as he glowered at Xifin his hand reached out and clawed his neck, lifting him from his feet and bringing him closer to his face.

" WHY?" he bellowed at him. In that instant, Frila and Carios rushed into the room as well. "Take Aselia to the med room, and arrange blood for her. Ask Doctor Wanstine to keep her alive at every cost. Carios come back after this." Carios and Frila nodded as Carios spread his arms to receive Aselia and Xiran reluctantly opened his wings to release her. His heart was torn into a thousand pieces seeing her in this condition, she was unconscious and her heartbeat was slow. There were so many injuries on her face and body. Carios took her in his arms and bolted out of the door with Frila at his heels.

Xiran was still holding Xifin from his throat while Sohlia watched him from a distance, with a shocked expression. She had never seen Xiran like that, he was always calm and smiling. What was so special about this girl that he was acting like that with his brother?

"Give me one good reason for not killing you both right now. You dared break the rules in my city. You hurt one of my girls." He shouted at them while tightening his grip around Xifin’s throat making his eyes bulge out. Xifin tried clawing at Xiran’s hand but had no luck.

"Xiran!!! he is your brother and you are ready to kill your kin over some slut." Sohlia tried reasoning.

Xiran shifted his vengeful gaze at her and eyed her with disgust, she gulped hard at the way he looked at her: "Call her slut one more time and I will forget you are a woman and my brother’s girlfriend. I don’t use violence against women, but don’t push your luck today." Her mouth hung open at his words while he shifted his orbs back to Xifin and finally loosened his grip a bit so he could speak.

"Who told you about her?" Xiran thundered again, Xifin had an impending fear in his eyes and he didn’t want to enrage his brother anymore.

"I...t was o...ne of y...our girls. We j...just want...ed to have so...me fun with her. But, she fo...ught back and was ready to kill us." He stammered.

"NAME?" Xiran tightened his grip again. "I do..not know her na...me, she was tall with bl...ack hair." Xifin was terrified of his elder brother right now. Xiran smashed him against the floor with full force and repeatedly punched his face, reducing it to a bloody pulp.

He knew he would heal but at least it will hurt and will take time. Sohlia screamed, begging Xiran to show them mercy. He had no mercy for them. He stood up and placed his foot on Xifin’s throat making him gag. Then he got hold of his right arm and twisted it, cracking of bones mingled with Sohlia’s screams filled the air.

"Y....our father won’t be pleased if you kill him." Sohlia tried a different tactic to save her boyfriend. Xiran halted instantly, his eyes blood-red with rage.

Releasing him from his iron hold, he grabbed him from the floor and like a rag doll threw him against the wall. Xifin landed with a thud denting the wall in the process. Sohlia rushed to his side, taking him in her arms.

"You people disgust me and it’s even more disgusting to call you family. You don’t deserve my love and now that you have incurred my wrath, it’s only hate you will know from now." Xiran then moved closer making them recoil in fear.

He squatted in front of Sohlia and using his index finger and thumb he squeezed her face callously, making her stare into his eyes. "I don’t want your filthy presence anywhere near me or my people. You don’t deserve the respect I always gave you. The only thing standing between me from ripping you apart is your gender. Take your disgusting presence and leave. I don’t think I can restrain myself any longer." Sohlia was dumbfounded, no sound escaped her. They hadn’t anticipated that reaction from him.

He touched their heads and spoke: "You will forget about Aselia’s existence and you are to never set foot in my city again. You are not welcome here anymore. Do I make myself clear?" They nodded as if they had been hypnotised.

Carios had returned after dropping Aselia to the med room. Xiran turned to him and ordered: "Escort these two to the airport, I have erased their memories of Aselia. It will take some time for them to regain their senses. They are never to set foot in my city again. Take them away from my sight, I can’t stand them anymore." Carios nodded and escorted Xifin and Sohlia out of there.

This floor was mainly reserved for Xiran’s family and special guests so it was empty other than this particular room. So no one had come to inspect what had been transpiring here.

Xiran stood in the room alone and scanned it. He had noticed Xifin’s injuries and Sohlia’s bloody nose. Aselia had fought hard to survive. He could see clumps of her hair scattered throughout the room and smell her blood. Although there were three other scents of blood, he could distinguish hers. There were spots of her blood on the floor, which were drying out. He took out a tissue from his pocket and carefully wiped all of her blood from the floor. Then he collected all the hair that had been scattered throughout the room and placed them in the same tissue. Wrapping it carefully he placed it in his pocket.

He then took out his cell phone and dialled Rivan’s number.

As soon as he picked up, Xiran spoke: "Rivan, I need you."
