Chapter 422: Sunset

(@Syreeta this one is for you. Thanku for the support and golden tickets, much love.)

Xiran halted the car near the foot of a very high mountain. They both stepped down from the car. Walking over to her, Xiran flicked open his wings and Aselia instantly marvelled at their finesse and beauty.

He snaked his steady arm around her slender waist and asked while gazing into her shiny eyes:

"Ready?"

"Always," she answered without any reluctance, looping her arms around his neck. His wings flapped, rustling sounds filling the air as they rose.

Hues of the evening surrounded them, his wings seemed to glow silver as if millions of stars adorned them and they sparkled under the reddish-orange tones which were harmoniously blending.

"They have reached new levels of beauty as if that was even possible," Aselia was in awe of their exquisite radiance.

"They transformed as well and I can fly even faster than before," Xiran explained as air rushed past them and Aselia’s hair flew back, every fibre of her being was invigorated, as if a dormant fire within her had been ignited, consuming her with an electrifying sense of vitality.

They reached the top and it was cold up there. Aselia found herself shivering as Xiran settled her on her feet and they proceeded to the edge of the mountainous cliff.

"We are going to sit on this perilous cliff and watch the sunset," Xiran hummed and settled down on the edge with his legs dangling down.

Aselia felt an adrenaline rush at the prospect and he opened his legs before offering her his hand:

"Come."

She gladly took it and he lifted her before settling her in between his legs. She comfortably sat, trusting him with her life. Xiran’s wings blanketed her, so she won’t feel cold and the elven girl momentarily closed her eyes, relishing in his warmth. His hands rested on either side of him with palms down.

"Let’s watch," he placed his chin on her shoulder as their eyes went to the horizon.

The golden orb began its descent behind the majestic peaks, and a tranquil hush settled over the mountainous landscape. The jagged edges of the rugged cliffs were softened by the warm hues of twilight.

The sky was stroked with fiery oranges, dusky purples, pastel yellow and soft pinks, blending seamlessly with the fading blue of the day. Cotton candy clouds caught the last rays of sunlight and created a breathtaking display of ethereal beauty incorporated with their emotions.

The fading light, left behind the last of its golden radiance. The air had a crispness to it, hinting at the approaching nightfall.

In this moment of pure tranquillity, nature seemed to pause, as if paying homage to the grandeur of the setting sun. A profound sense of peace washed over Aselia and Xiran making them deeply appreciate the beauty that surrounded them.

As the final rays of sunlight dipped below the horizon, a gentle hush fell over the mountains. The beautiful day bid its farewell, leaving behind a lingering glow and two souls that were desperately in love with each other.

"It was beautiful," Aselia softly murmured, the tips of his wings caressing her neck and face.

"It is. I used to come here very often to watch it and always wanted to bring you along," his hands slipped around her waist and his lips grazed the ridges of her neck and she tilted her head to give him more excess. He kissed the last remnants of injuries on her neck, his eyes hating the sight of them and he wished they would heal soon.

"Thank you for bringing me to your magical place," a slight moan escaped her at the sensation his lips provided.

"Our magical place now," he sucked the soft spot on her neck sending electric shocks down her body.

Her intoxicating smell watered his mouth and he so wanted to bury his canines in her soft flesh and drink that heavenly nectar of her. But she had been injured recently and had hardly recovered after losing so much blood. He had vowed to not drink her blood for a while.

"Ours," she repeated his word as if in a trance. "Xiran?" She turned her head so she could face him.

"Yes?" He halted for a second.

"I have a suggestion. It’s alright if you say no but hear me out," she requested holding tenderness on that beautiful face of hers.

"Anything. Speak freely."

"I know you want to build us a house in Emeradius City as you showed me. But I want us to stay in Fritez. This is your city, you have built it from scratch. I don’t want to leave. And we already have a beautiful home here, but if you wish to build a new one then do it here."

A content smile graced his plump lips and he stroked her cheek with the back of his hand before asking:

"You eventually want to settle down with me in Fritez?"

"Yes!"

"It’s done then, we will make our home here. We can do it either near the sea or up in the mountains. Wherever you wish, just tell me when you are ready to permanently move in with me," Aselia leaned closer and placed her head on his shoulder and he wrapped his arms around her. As she said:

"About that, I already quit, at least for the time being. I wish to stay with you and start my new life."

"What? Why didn’t you tell me earlier?" He jolted, his eyes widened with eyebrows forming perfect arches, his mouth fell open and he stared at her in surprise, unable to comprehend what she was saying was real.

"To see if you would push me or not on this matter. I am glad you didn’t and kept your promise that you won’t enforce your decisions on me and let me take mine," his shocked expression melded into a smug one, knowing he had passed her test and she wasn’t going anywhere.

"Seemed like I passed with flying colours," he pompously stated.

"You did."

"Oh! Leia. I can’t tell you how happy you have made me," he pulled her in and showered her face with wet kisses, his affections and longings rolling off of him in waves. The last of the burdens in his heart had been lifted and only her love remained. She had completed him and he was a content man today.

"You are slobbering me," Aselia protested, trying to wriggle away from his tight grasp.

"Let me have this moment, Leia. You don’t know how much I have longed for it," his tender lips covered hers and his needy tongue slithered inside her warm mouth, tasting her, savouring her, devouring her and most importantly owning her for the final time, or so he believed.

Her hands slipped into his hair and she let them loose as they came cascading down and fell all around him like a silver curtain. The last of the light fell on them before darkness engulfed the two entwined souls and none of them wanted to let the other go as their passionate kiss continued and the soft smooshing sounds echoed all around them. His hands roamed the entirety of her body, giving her goosebumps as his tongue travelled deep into her throat.

Aselia needed air for once again he had truly stolen her oxygen. She tugged at his hair and he parted his lips. Aselia panted hard and had barely taken a breath when he leaned in and took possession of her lips again. Burying her protests and murmurs in his mouth.

"Mhmmm!" But he paid her no heed and she soon gave up trying to escape and gave in to his claim. He kissed her to his heart’s content before their lips parted and he hated the feeling of not being able to taste her cherry lips anymore.

So he simply buried his nose in her neck, letting her irresistible scent envelop and soothe him. She fondly caressed his silvery hair, hoping his heightened senses would calm down.

"I still can’t believe you have returned to me. It seems like a dream and I am afraid I am going to wake up and you will be gone," he apprehensively breathed out against her neck.

"That is not going to happen. Here, listen to the truth on your own," she moved his head so his ear was pressed against where her heart was.

"Those beats belong only to you," she reassured him and he softly kissed her there.

"I know, it’s just too much for my messed up brain and my wounded heart to handle."

"They will heal, we will help each other heal, Xiran," she reassured him and he swiftly gazed into her mesmerizing eyes.

"Yes, I want to talk to you about that too. I wish both of us can see a psychiatrist after everything we have been through. Arimie, Irlana and Elrine are seeing one and they have healed a lot. But only if you want," he reluctantly told her.

"I think it’s a good idea. Talking helps. I used to detest the idea but when I did what I did to you and couldn’t find any solace, talking to a psychiatrist helped me and I would like to do it again," she softly smiled and he returned it knowing they were finally on the same page on so many things.

They were totally engrossed in their own world when suddenly a blinding light on their left startled them. A small bang followed before a heavenly being with wings even wider and more majestic than Xiran’s appeared out of thin air and smiled down at them and spoke in the gentlest tone they had ever heard:

"Apology for interrupting this private moment but we need to talk."
