Chapter 429: Prank Call

Arimie and Frila served drinks to everyone. The plan was to get fully wasted. Rubisha asked for juice instead and Arimie brought some orange juice for her.

Once they were settled with their drinks, Arimie began:

"I was extremely shy when it came down to intimacy. Zirius had to work hard with me to open up to him. Most girls are generally shy and I think they should always have a choice on this matter," she remembered her time with Phantom and shuddered at the thought. The wounds were still fresh in her mind but she wanted to let that go and enjoy these blissful moments where she existed and he didn’t. And the girl sitting in front of her was the main reason he was gone from her life for good.

"I agree. And Señor is extremely possessive of you, he will never push you for it. Take your time and don’t let this bother you so much," Frila reassuringly added.

"It will be worth the wait," Rubisha chimed in as well.

"Thanks, guys for the input. I feel insecure at times knowing that somehow I am unable to provide him with what he desires. And him being him, will never ask me for it," Aselia sighed audibly. How she wanted to tell them that she desired marriage so they could be properly bonded but she didn’t want to sound desperate.

"Every man desires that intimacy more than anything. S*x is a drive which is more hard-wired in male species. Showing restraint represents how much he loves you and respects your boundaries. You don’t have to feel insecure when it concerns Señor for I have seen his love for you," Frila lightly squeezed her arm and Aselia nodded at her.

"Let me share my experience. A month ago Rivan’s ex returned and she was carrying someone else’s child. She wanted protection from the wrong people she had mingled with and Rivan decided to give it to her. Brother Xiran was furious and both friends fought with each other. He took me home with him and refused to speak with Rivan. But Rivan assured me that he will never accept her back because she left him in the first place and he kept his word. The point is when you make a permanent abode in a man’s heart, when he starts to deeply care and respect you, no one can take it away," Irlana concluded still holding Aselia’s shoulders.

Aselia was horrified to know that Xiran and Rivan had fought. She had never seen them do it before, they were always like these twin brothers.

"Thanks, girls, for boosting my morale but I think we should shift the conversation from my non-existent s*x life to something more interesting and existent."

Girls guffawed in laughter.

"Let’s raise a toast for the couple about to be married," Amoris raised her glass and everyone clinked theirs with her.

"Here to hoping the two of you will have the best of everything and the worst of nothing," Irlana offered her wishes and Arimie sweetly smiled at her.

"We should do something more fun now," Rubisha declared, seeming a bit bored.

"Why don’t we make a prank call," Amoris placed forward an idea making everyone turn towards her and she had a mischievous smile going on.

"To whom though?" Rubisha’s eyes sparkled with a tease.

"Let’s make it to my brother and kill any doubts that still linger in Aselia’s heart," Irlana suggested, making others giggle.

"What do you say Aselia? Should we do it?" Frila nudged her and mischief birthed in Aselia.

"Absolutely," she told them with the click of her tongue and everyone gathered around her.

Amoris extracted her phone.

"Use my phone. It has voice-changing software and he doesn’t have my number."

"Perfect, but what are we going to say?" Rubisha took the phone from her getting ready to make the call.

"Just act like one of his exes, believe me, he had plenty," Aselia’s sarcastic tone made them laugh out loud.

"What name are we going with?"

"Karen, it has to be Karen," Irlana replied with an edge to her voice and others snickered understanding the underlying meaning.

"Ok, quiet girls. I am going to make the call, and I am putting this on speaker. Don’t laugh," Rubisha took his number from Aselia and dialled. She placed the phone in the centre of the table so all of them could hear him.

Aselia’s heart was thumping like a drum and her palms were becoming sweaty as anticipation and excitement built up.

It rang four times before he picked it up and his husky voice sounded from the speaker:

"Hello! Who is this?" Pop music could be heard in the background.

"Hey! Gorgeous, it’s me, Karen," Rubisha replied in a sickly sweet voice. Silence followed before he spoke in a stern voice.

"I don’t know any Karens."

"Come now, baby. Have you forgotten me so quickly?" Girls giggled with their hands on their mouths and Aselia held her breath.

"What do you want?"

"You! Obviously, Xiran. Now don’t act like a stranger. I know you remember me," she seductively spoke and Aselia’s jealousy began to surge. She knew this was just a prank and yet her heart didn’t want anyone talking to him like that. 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮

"Look here, Miss Karen. I don’t know who you are or what you want but let me make something very clear to you. Don’t call me again," he angrily growled at her before cutting the call.

All the girls let out their giggles and Rubisha triumphantly did a high five with Aselia.

"See, he is yours through and through," Irlana could sense her chest constricting with how proud she felt of her brother.

Girls were hunched together, tittering with each other when Amoris’s phone rang again and this time it was Rumail.

"Shh," she put her finger on her lips asking the girls to keep quiet as she received his call and the smile on her face evaporated as he chided her. She listened quietly and then said:

"We were only having fun, Rumi. Don’t act like an ass."

Silence.

"Ok, fine. You can tell him," she answered dejectedly and ended the call, her face fell.

"What happened?" Aselia inquired, as everyone stared at Amoris with apprehension.

"Xiran gave my number to Rumail to check who the caller was because he thought we were some kind of threat. And Rumail instantly recognized my number and admonished me for making a prank call to his holy Señor."

She emphasized the last two words with a sneer, sending everyone over the edge. Aselia banged the table with her hand while she laughed so hard that tears came out of her eyes. Rubisha doubled over and others joined in.

"Well that didn’t go as we had expected but who cares. I have something else up my sleeve and since that idiot had the nerve to reprimand me I am going to have a lot of fun," Amoris added with a lopsided evil grin descending on her face.
