Elven Encounter With A Blood Seeker
Chapter 49: All Yours
"Why?" Xiran inquired curiously.
"You need to eat as well. I am not going to eat alone. Frila can you bring some food and blood for him?" Aselia averted her gaze to Frila who slyly looked between Xiran and Aselia.
"Do as Aselia says," Xiran ordered her without taking his eyes off Aselia.
"Yes! Señor," she placed the tray on the table and left.
Once she was gone Xiran came forward and sat in front of Aselia.
"You are worried about me even in this situation."
"With everything you have done for me, this is the least I can do to repay you." She held his gaze while he closed his eyes for a second at her words and took a deep breath before opening them.
"You don’t have to repay me for anything, Aselia." His phone began to ring that instant and he excused himself. He opened the door and went outside to answer it.
He returned after five minutes. "I have some urgent business to attend to, I will be back shortly. Frila will stay with you and feed you. Will you be alright?" It was the first time he was leaving her after the incident and every fibre of his existence wanted to stay right there with her. But the matter was urgent.
"I will be alright, don’t worry," Aselia reassured him. He waited for Frila’s return and leaving Aselia under Frila’s care he exited the room.
Frila helped Aselia with food and then made her lie down. Once Aselia was settled in Frila spoke in an apologetic tone: "Aselia, I am so sorry I couldn’t protect you that day."
"It wasn’t your fault Frila, don’t beat yourself up." Aselia offered her a small smile.
They talked for a while and Frila filled her in on the details Xiran had left out. Like the ones that Maxile and Treia were gone from his life. And how it was Treia who had planned and executed everything to get rid of her. Frila left out the part that Xiran could erase the memories of others. Because she was sure that Aselia would figure out other girls were gone but Xiran’s powers were a well-kept secret and only a handful of people knew about them.
Aselia inclined that Treia was involved but she didn’t anticipate that she would be so shrewd and desperate. She only wondered what Xiran might have done to her. No wonder he was always tensed and didn’t smile much. Treia had been with him for a long time and a part of him cared deeply for her. At least Treia was sincere with him, unlike her who was just deceiving him. Aselia felt sad at the thought that she was ruining his life. But she didn’t have a choice, her mission will always come first.
After a couple of hours, Aselia was tired. She took her medication and laid down to get some sleep.

Rivan had called Xiran because he had made some interesting discoveries.
Rivan was using Xiran’s study as his office. Once they were both settled down. Rivan asked: "How is Aselia now?"
"She is better physically but emotionally it will take time to heal after what she went through."
"The way you are taking care of her I am sure she will heal emotionally as well." Rivan tried to encourage his friend.
"If only she could feel how deeply I care for her. I don’t think anyone had pierced my heart so deeply before." Xiran had a forlorn expression on his face as he uttered these words.
"Be careful about whom you open your heart to. Don’t leave yourself vulnerable." Rivan warned him.
"I don’t think it’s in my hands anymore." Rivan sighed at his friend before continuing:
"So I called you because I stumbled upon something interesting. I was going through the footage of the night of the party." He played the footage on his tablet and placed it between him and Xiran so both could see.
"See this woman," he pointed to a tall woman who was dressed up for the party. "I saw her visit the second floor. According to the staff, the second floor was cordoned off for the party that day and they constantly checked it. So what was she doing over there? I also saw her name on the guest list so it means she was invited but I can’t find anything on her. The information I have gathered points out that she disappeared after the party without leaving a trace. I think she was a hunter, she was their informant and must have perished in the attack."
Rivan continued: "There is more, the lobby camera changed its position suddenly around the time this woman went to the second floor and two guards were knocked unconscious. As I investigated and threatened them they confessed someone knocked them unconscious but they thought it was a jealous girlfriend of one of them. No damage was reported so they hushed it up." Xiran listened carefully to all the details.
"Makes sense, I am going to kill both of them for being so negligent with their duty." Xiran was furious that they didn’t inform him of the incident.
"Don’t worry, I dealt with them. And I have hired new ones who will think twice before making such a grave mistake." Rivan replied in a calm voice.
"Good. I think they must have left at least one person behind. Hunters always operate like that, they always leave someone behind in case things don’t go according to their plans. They need someone to clean up their mess and report back. Keep a keen eye on all the guests. I want the sole hunter to be captured. After I extract all the information from him, I will send his head to that inflated piece of shit in Avarance. The last time I spoke to him, he needed enlightenment. I think it is time I will provide him with some."
Rivan chuckled at the words of his friend before mocking him: "What if it’s not ’him’ but a ’her’ they had left behind?"
"Then she will be all yours to extract information any way you please." Xiran smiled but his smile didn’t touch his eyes which had taken a darker shade of grey.
