Aselia’s POV 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎

I knocked on his door but there was no answer. So I turned the doorknob and entered. His room is always open, why does he never lock it? This time even the light was on but the room was empty.

’Where did he go so early in the morning?’ I wondered to myself. Sitting down on his bed I decided to wait for him. If he had been sulking until now, he would be here. This was his ’Sulking Room’ after all.

Getting tired of sitting alone I laid down on his bed and waited. He didn’t come but sleep sure did. I was asleep before I knew it. When I woke up and glanced at the clock, it was already noon. I was shocked, how much did I sleep? And why was I covered in a blanket? I didn’t remember putting a blanket on myself.

There was a tray of food waiting for me. It must have been Frila, she must have gone to my room first. Unable to locate me there, she must have come here, finding me asleep she left the food and covered me with a blanket.

I picked up the tray and began to eat the sandwiches she had brought me along with fruits and juice. After finishing breakfast I called her from the extension phone. She told me she would be right over.

Five minutes passed and Frila knocked on the door before entering. She was holding a small blue box and had a broad smile on her face.

"Hey! You are awake. Did you eat the breakfast I left you?" She inquired while crossing the room to come closer to me.

"I did, thank you. Did you cover me with the blanket as well?" I was curious.

"No, you already had a blanket on you. Anyways here is what you requested." She handed me the blue box, while I wondered if Xiran was here.

I quickly opened the box and there lay an elegant-looking platinum bracelet. I took it out and held it in my hand.

It was plated in front with his name inscribed on the side, a diamond adorned the other side. The rest of the bracelet was chained. This looked perfect for him.

"Thank you so much, Frila. This is so elegant." I gave her a warm smile and touched her hand, showing my appreciation.

"No problem my dear. I am just glad you liked it. I have to go now, a lot of preparation is needed." She said while getting up.

"Can I come too? I came here to wish him but he is not here."

"Señor went out, he said he will return at night. And sure, I always love having your company." I nodded at her before saying:

"I will be right out, you go ahead." I needed to do one small thing with the bracelet but alone.

"Sure," Frila left the room, closing the door behind her. Once I was alone, I bit my index finger so the skin would break. Blood began to drip so I placed the finger on top of his inscribed name. The blood drops fell on his name and dyed it red, spreading and covering every nook and cranny.

Then I let it dry so my blood would permanently settle with his name. I placed the bracelet back carefully in its box and closed it. Slipping it into my hood’s pocket I got up and left his room.

I approached the dungeon hall, Frila, Carios, and a few other vampires were busy decorating it. "Hello!" I called out and they waved at me. Frila invited me to her side, she was blowing up balloons. She handed me some black ones and I began to blow them. Carios was making an arc with them over the enormous golden banner which had "Happy Birthday Xiran" written in black on it. A black foil curtain covered the whole wall behind the banner. Why they had chosen black as the theme? It looked so gloomy.

"Frila, why is everything black?" I inquired while tying up a balloon with a black ribbon.

"Señor requested it to be." She replied as she handed over a balloon to Carios. ’So he had chosen to be a devil on his birthday,’ I thought to myself.

"Be quick you all, we only have a few hours left," Carios called out to the vampires and they picked up their speed.

Black fizzy danglers and enormous latex balloons in the shape of crescents, planets and stars, hung from the ceiling. The other two vampires were using black ribbons to decorate the ceiling, making criss-cross patterns. And then fairy lights were hung along with them, covering all the ribbons, walls and balloons.

Huge black candles were placed in all corners of the hall, giving me an eerie feeling. It looked more like a witch’s ritual than a birthday party.

I stayed with them and helped until we were done with all the decorations, everything looked perfect, hopefully, and was according to what he had desired.

"Aselia, you should go change. Señor asked that you should wear something black." Frila told me as I was placing the scissors back which I had used to cut ribbons.

"Did he send a dress this time around too?" I inquired while crossing my arms against my chest.

"No, he just told me to tell you that." I was furious at him, why couldn’t he tell me that himself? But I didn’t show it to Frila.

"Alright, I will go change. Fetch me when the party starts." I waved at her and left for my room.

Reaching my room, I took out the blue box from my pocket and placed it on my dressing table.

Opening my cupboard and rummaging through the clothing I took out a simple floor-length cocktail dress with pearls decorating its front. It was half sleeves with a v-shaped neckline which didn’t reveal much cleavage. It would be easy to wear.

But what I loved most about this dress was its color, which was pure ’White’.
