Endless Extraction in a Game-Like World
Chapter 108: Journey to Divinity! A Lower A-Rank Talent
Whoosh!
Caelus’s figure shot through the desert region of the Divine Region of Fire until he arrived at the gates of a towering, walled city. This place was even more massive than his own town.
This was the Divine Kingdom of Fire, nestled deep within the Divine Region of Fire. They called themselves the Divine Kingdom of Ifrit.
Back then, Caelus was not interested in this place because the NPCs were just that... NPCs. But now, they were real people. He could not wait to see what was waiting inside.
The Divine Regions were the talk of the global forums.
These divine regions only spawned for players till silver and he should meet silver ranks in here as well.
This kingdom and rest of the divine kingdoms were open to every world level.
Of course, that was under the assumption that there were actually other Bronze and higher ranked players here. There were hardly any new servers in their world. Only ten thousand had opened this year.
"But, Dungeon Masters can force open new servers with the mana they have extracted using the authority of the Origin Domain." Caelus was thoughtful. He still did not know exactly how it worked, but he planned on exploring it more once he returned to reality.
Soon, they arrived at the front gate. There were several guards stationed there. They all wore heavy golden armor and were covered from head to toe. The instant Caelus and Sylvia approached, the guards stepped forward and stopped them in their tracks.
"You need to pay 100 Origin Credits as a toll to enter the kingdom, or else get ready to be kicked out," one of the guards said with a harsh glare.
"Damn, no need to be so mean about it. We are not here to start a war," Caelus said speechlessly as he handed over the credits for both his and Sylvia’s entry fees.
The guards inspected them closely for a moment before letting them in. As soon as they entered, a sprawling cityscape stretched out around them. Lining the wide streets were bustling taverns, grand buildings, and residential houses. There were people everywhere, with quite a few wearing full armor sets.
"The Adventurer Guild has been assigning tasks to eliminate the bandits in the area here. They are giving a large sum of money for it as well."
"Do not even think about it. The bandit leader is Bronze III. Unless you possess a Bronze III combat score, you will never be able to defeat them."
"But I will tell you, they exist between the treacherous mountains that cover the Divine Region of Fire and the Divine Region of Water. They steal and kill people that are crossing into the water region or traveling from the water region to our fire region. It is honestly very hard to deal with them."
"Oh yeah, I also heard there is a blacksmith from the bandit gang hiding here in the city. He has a powerful blacksmithing talent that allows one to mass-produce weapons and items as long as their profession is of a sufficient rank."
"How envious. To think a talent like that would fall into the hands of someone so vile."
"That dude is very despicable as well. He lures in unsuspecting newbies from the outlands and quietly kills them in the dark alleyways."
"Oh, interesting." Caelus overheard the conversation and immediately became highly interested.
But before he could ask the group for more details, the team of adventurers had already left the gate area. Sighing, he grabbed hold of Sylvia and continued walking down the street.
He did it subconsciously, but Sylvia, seeing this, suddenly smiled and repositioned her hand. Her slender fingers and Caelus’s fingers locked together tightly.
Caelus glanced at her. Amidst the bustling crowd, Sylvia smiled beautifully at him. The nearby pedestrians were intoxicated by her presence, and honestly, so was Caelus.
"Who is she? Is she a princess from a nearby country?"
"She is stunning. I want her engram number."
Sylvia was incredibly beautiful. She had a perfect mix of innocent and devilish charm that naturally made others want to protect her.
Caelus’s grip around her hand tightened. "Do not let go, Sylvia, or we will get separated by the crowd."
"I won’t," Sylvia said, leaning much closer as she walked beside Caelus.
Caelus’s appearance was rather average, while Sylvia, on the other hand, was absolutely breathtaking. They did not look like a matching couple at all. To the onlookers, Caelus looked more like a liability reducing Sylvia’s natural charm.
But Sylvia cared nothing about that. Superficial appearances never mattered to her.
Just then, a hooded figure heavily collided with Caelus.
"Oh, sorry, I did not see you there," the hooded figure said with a small, apologetic smile. "I was in a huge hurry to get a special potion that can increase a person’s combat score and charm by fifty points. I did not see you at all."
"Oh? A potion that can increase charm and combat score?" Caelus asked, playing along.
"That is right." The hooded figure nodded heavily. "Are you new here?"
"Yes, we are new, friend. Can you tell us more about it?" Caelus gave the hooded figure a small, polite smile and asked.
"It is like this. There is a miraculous potion maker in the Divine Fire Nation, and they are selling this potion right now. There are only a few left. If we do not hurry, then we might not get another chance for weeks. How about this? As an apology for bumping into you, I will show you the way. Of course, you have to use your own Origin Credits to buy it from them."
"Sure," Caelus let out a small chuckle. "Lead the way."
"Alright!" The hooded figure became overjoyed. "Come with me then."
Caelus and Sylvia nodded at the hooded figure and closely followed behind him.
"We found the bandit guy," Caelus whispered softly into Sylvia’s ear.
Sylvia chuckled quietly and leaned closer to whisper back to him. "What are we going to do with him?"
"I do not know. Let us see what he has first."
Soon, the hooded figure led them deep into a dead-end alleyway and abruptly stopped.
"Kekekekeke! You have fallen for my lies, you stupid newbies. Now die!" The hooded figure pounced on Caelus and Sylvia like a ferocious tiger.
However, Caelus just looked at him with a completely bored expression and casually waved his hand. Immediately, like a bug being swatted by an invisible force, the hooded figure was launched backward. The bandit blacksmith who had been luring and killing innocent people slammed violently into the brick wall of the alleyway. Blood oozed out of him continuously.
His body soon became entirely lifeless as he slumped to the cold ground.
Seeing this, Caelus walked forward and used his extraction skill on the fresh corpse.
[Ding!]
[Extraction Successful!]
[You have obtained the Lower A-Rank talent: Blacksmith Forgery]
"Yes!" Caelus exclaimed out loud, absolutely thrilled upon seeing the talent prompt.
He got the exact thing he wanted!
He knew all about this talent. This talent had once made huge waves back on the Azure Origin Planet. There was an individual with this exact talent in the Silver Blacksmith Guild in the Central Plains. He was a production monster who could forge massive batches of weapons all at once using an illusory, permanent weapon creation factory. His partner also had a rare talent that allowed him to randomly spawn mining areas and summon mining helpers to continuously fuel the factory with raw materials.
And now, Caelus had obtained the Blacksmith Forgery talent!
This was his ultimate gateway to making an amount of money so staggering that it would put entire organizations to shame. This talent scaled directly with his own personal capabilities, and since he possessed the Rainbow Light Forge skill, that powerful effect would automatically apply to the mass-produced forgery talent as well.
Then, just as he was about to check the talent’s detailed information, Sylvia called out to him.
"Hey, look, Caelus. Isn’t that a spell marking over there?"
"A spell marking?" Caelus scanned the ground. Indeed, there was a distinct spell marking etched there.
A spell marking was the concentrated mana residue left behind by the complex spells of a Mage talent.
"Does that mean Sebastian was actually here?" Caelus murmured.
Did that not mean it was finally time for him to extract the Mage talent he had been eyeing?
He was going to go all out for it and hope that he gets it.
If his talent worked based on wish, then he was going to start praying on all gods to get it; It was just that useful.
The base application Sebastian showed of the talent was just as tip of the iceberg of its real power.
As soon as he spoke those words, his Ancient God Dragon Fighting Spirit became highly restless. It manifested on its own, and immediately, the dark alleyway lit up. Glowing ancient symbols appeared on the dead-end wall of the alley.
The Ancient God Dragon Fighting Spirit floated forward and softly touched the mysterious markings. The wall lit up with a blinding golden light, and the following moment, intense spatial turbulence erupted in the area.
