Chapter 118: The Card Master! Inscribing Myriad Moves into Solitaire Runes

Runes did not actually need a stone to function.

Back when Allstar gave them the runes for the town, they were circular stones. But the rune was not the stone itself. It was the inscription. They could be inscribed onto anything and still work perfectly.

The most popular method was using cards. Solitaire cards, to be exact.

There were tiers for these inscription materials too. They were ranked as Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 3, Tier 4, and so on, just like ores. Blacksmiths were the ones who crafted these blank materials. People even did magic tricks with those cards these days.

Caelus had bought plenty of blank black cards for himself. He could store his skills inside them with no problem. He just needed to inscribe them properly.

With his Chaos Perception Eyes, it was effortless. The skill had four times the perception power now. It was a terrifying level of clarity.

[Flash pattern initiated]

The skill activated. A runic pen appeared in his hand. He focused on the blueprint for the Skill Storage Rune.

Lines began to rapidly appear on the back surface of a Tier 1 card. The back was the most stable place to hold the inscription. The lines were complex. They looked like a maze weaving across the black and gold solitaire card.

Caelus was fully concentrated. He traced the lines with perfect control.

Ding!

[You have successfully crafted: Skill Storage Rune (Mythical, 1-Star) (Iron I)]

[You’ve obtained +1,000 EXP]

Seeing this, Caelus smiled. But he did not stop there. His goal was Bronze I. He knew he could make it since his perception was incredibly high.

From Iron I to Iron II to Iron III, Caelus continued without pausing, his pen tracing every marking across the cards.

[You have successfully crafted: Skill Storage Rune (Mythical, 1-Star) (Iron III)]

[You’ve obtained +1,000 EXP]

[Engineer: Tier 1: Iron III -> Tier 2: Bronze I (0/25,00)]

Seeing this, he immediately pulled out a Tier 4 solitaire card. Light flew out from the card as he carefully inscribed the power of the Skill Storage Rune into it.

[Ding!]

[You have successfully crafted: Skill Storage Rune (Mythical, 1-Star) (Bronze I)]

[+1,000 Engineer EXP]

[Item: Skill Storage Rune]

[Capacity: 5]

"I can charge it five times. That means I can use one solitaire card to unleash five skills."

Caelus was full of smiles.

He immediately charged the skill into the card. Now, five Lightning Singularities would blast out if he chose to unleash the card’s full power. Of course, he could also choose to just use it one time. The card had an automatic function built into the blueprint. It would fly back to his hand after he threw it.

"What happens if I store the Myriad Moves of the Heavenly Sword?"

He decided to test it out by creating more cards. He charged one instance of the sword art into a new solitaire card.

He held the card proficiently between his fingers and threw it.

Fwoosh!

Immediately, a white humanoid phantom appeared in the room. It gripped a blade of light and began performing the sword moves. But before it reached the seventh move and completely destroyed his room, Caelus quickly canceled it.

"So a phantom comes out to fight in my place," Caelus nodded.

Runes were certainly very interesting.

Ding!

[Engineer Tier 2: Bronze I (25,000/25,000) (Capped)]

"And my engineering profession has also reached the Bronze I cap. It matches my blacksmithing," Caelus smiled as he observed the system screen.

"Now what do I do with all these solitaire cards?"

Caelus sighed. There was a huge pile of cards around him. He had been crafting continuously for three hours. Thanks to his Chaos Perception Eyes, his proficiency had advanced by leaps and bounds.

In the end, he decided to list them on the global market as well.

At the same time, he noticed several new messages in his seller account. The first one was from the Order Organization. This was a massive group dedicated to players. They sold a lot of weapons and armor in the cities.

[Manager of Fortis City Order: Hello. This is the branch manager of the Order Organization. I would like to formally request you to stop selling your Mythical weapons and armor sets in the market. You have completely crashed the market. Now, no one else is buying from our establishment. We are a big organization. I am sure we can work something out, Player 555.]

Across the city, the branch manager wore a weary expression. He looked at his screen with dim eyes.

Ever since this Player 555 showed up, he had overtaken the entire market. Now he was directly selling all rarities of weapons and armors.

Then, he saw Player 555 typing.

The branch manager leaned forward eagerly. He hoped Player 555 would heed their words and stop. He was just one man. If he did not stop, he would crash the entire economy. The Order Organization would have to lower their prices even more than Player 555 just to compete. But their overall profit margins would plummet if they did that. Labor costs were high. There was a reason their items were priced that way.

Now Player 555 had come in and ruined everything.

Then, the reply arrived.

[Player 555: Skill issue.]

"..."

A tired gasp escaped the branch manager’s mouth. The internet was going to go crazy over this.

But Caelus did not mind it at all. He began selling the runes.

As for the robot, he will make it later, he was tired after working on runes for long.

Just then, he received a text message from Mia.

[Mia: Remember when my dad said he wanted to see you? He said he wants to meet you and give you something.]

[Caelus: Sure. I will be there later tonight. I am going out with Sylvia first.]

He and Sylvia were going out on a date today. He was really looking forward to it.

A few hours passed. Caelus swiftly got ready. He put on a neat white t-shirt, black pants, and a long cardigan with a hood. He wore clean white sports shoes.

The clothing did elevate his presence slightly, but he still had very average looks.

"People are definitely going to stare and curse at me," Caelus sighed.

This was the main problem with having a peerless beauty by your side.

Caelus walked out of his room. He saw Sylvia waiting for him. She wore a beautiful white floral dress and carried a small handbag. She wore luxury perfume and absolutely zero makeup. She had a bright, natural smile on her face as she greeted him.

"Shall we go, my prince?" Sylvia asked sweetly.

"Let’s go."

Caelus smiled uncontrollably seeing her. Soon, they stepped out of the house together.
