Eternal Cultivation of Alchemy
Chapter 3562: A Different Second Chance Pill
Since Ronron couldn’t tell him about her Creation, Alex couldn’t help but wonder if it was perhaps as absurd as Hannah’s and Liz’s. He could only guess for now, so he turned toward the final person he had yet to ask.
"What about you, mother?" he asked. "Don’t tell me yours is just as incredible as well."
"Of course not," Helen quickly said. "My Creation is an artifact called the Heavenly Golden Nib. It’s a spear artifact that can shrink to become a formation-carving pen. Or... it might actually be the other way around."
"Heavenly Golden Nib?" Alex asked. He had never heard of it.
"Yes. It’s apparently a very old artifact that the Sky God let me turn into my Creation," Helen said. "Since it’s a pen nib, I can also use it for drawing runes."
Alex nodded slowly. He turned toward Battlesage. "This might actually be good for you as well, senior," he said.
Battlesage nodded. "I could do with an artifact like that. It would be useful if it’s a Creation."
Alex turned back to Helen. "Since it’s a spear, can I assume that you’ve started learning how to fight with a spear too?"
"When has your mother ever learned to fight?" Graham asked, shaking his head. "I keep telling her to join me in training, but she always makes the excuse that she has more talismans to make or that she has to make better pills."
"That’s because it’s the truth," Helen said. "I do have to do all of those things."
"But you still have to train as well, mother," Alex said. "Even if you don’t want to, there may come a day when you have to fight. It’s better if you train."
Helen pouted slightly before nodding.
"Pearl," Alex turned, "starting today, you’re in charge of teaching mother how to use spears, okay?"
"Leave it to me, brother," Pearl said with great enthusiasm. As the unofficial disciple of the greatest living spearmaster, Pearl had no doubt he could at least impart some decent spear skills to Helen. She would absolutely love it. 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢
"Since that’s done, I think it will be good for mother to use my pill and regress," Alex said.
"What about my Creation?" she asked.
"Will you not get a chance to absorb it again?" Alex asked.
Helen thought for a bit. "I can, but how do I explain to the Sky God that I’ll be needing it again?" she asked.
"You won’t have to," Alex said, turning to Ronron. "Ronron, go speak on behalf of your grandmother later on. At the same time, tell your master what I’ve told you. You might need her permission to regress your cultivation base. If she rejects the idea, we might have to let you be."
"It’s fine, Father. My Creation is good enough that I don’t think I will need another one," Ronron said. "Still, I will ask Master and see if she will accept."
Alex nodded. "The same goes for you, Aunt Liz. Although, I think I want to speak to the Divination God on your behalf. I wish to talk with him about a few things later on as well."
Liz shrugged. "Sounds fine to me."
The only one that couldn’t do anything was Hannah. She was sadly stuck with her Creation.
"That pill you speak of sounds an awful lot like the pill you receive as a reward for your victory in the Alchemy tournament," Helen said as she thought about it. "Is that it?"
Alex nodded. "That’s the pill. It’s called the Second Chance Pill, for obvious reasons."
Helen frowned. "Didn’t you only get a single pill as a reward? Are we sharing that one, or did you find the ingredients for it somehow?"
"Neither," Alex said. "Scarlet already ate that pill, so it’s something else entirely."
He brought out a pill from his Soul Space, holding it in his palm. Everyone looked at the pill, but they could tell nothing about it. In fact, they couldn’t even see any pill veins on its surface. It was hard to believe that it might be a pill Alex had made.
"That’s not the Second Chance Pill, is it?" Helen asked.
"No, this is the Blank Canvas Pill," Alex said. "It’s called that because it really is a blank canvas, waiting for us to imprint a different pill onto it. In this instance, I will be adding the energy of the Second Chance Pill onto this."
Helen grew curious upon hearing about such a strange pill. "How will you do that?" she asked.
"Like this."
Energy surged out of Alex’s body in an instant as colors rose from his palm, and the incredible aura of the Second Chance Pill flowed into the Blank Canvas Pill. With his Divine Elemental Accord, Alex could not only reproduce the aura of a pill he had encountered, but also remember it completely to recreate it later.
While he had only ever possessed a single Second Chance Pill, he had made sure to memorize its aura thoroughly. Now, he was reproducing it without a single mistake.
A vortex formed above the pill, quickly dragging in the aura until it was completely full. Then, the sky rumbled with distant thunder as dark clouds gathered right there in the room.
Pill clouds began to form before their very eyes.
Pill lightning struck in a series, one after the other. Alex simply closed his fist, withstanding the lightning with just his flesh. After all nine strikes were endured, the pill clouds faded away, and Alex opened his palm to reveal the perfect nine-veined pill for all to see.
Alex looked up from the pill to see his family staring at his hand with slack jaws, their purple eyes wide open. It had been nearly two thousand years since they had seen him, so it truly had been a long time since they last watched him refine a pill in person.
They had forgotten just how absurd he could be.
And from the looks of it, he had only grown more so.
