His mouth was full of blood.

Mo Lei added.

Demon Mark said, not knowing whether to laugh or cry.

"It’s all the same. If it weren’t for our lord’s sake, who would have wanted to bring him along?"

Mo Shan lamented.

The four of them laughed together.

"Strange, why hasn’t Batu Mu come in to finish us off?"

Mo Shuang suddenly felt that something was wrong.

The expressions of Mo Shan and the other two changed.

"Damn it. Did Batu Mu go after Chu Lingguang?"

Mo Lei said in alarm.

"It’s possible. If Chu Lingguang hadn’t suddenly appeared, we would’ve died by his hands long ago, and his men wouldn’t have all died here."

Mo Shan struggled to his feet.

Mo Shuang and Mo Lei each supported one of Demon Mark’s shoulders, dragging him along as they headed for the entrance.

The four of them had covered Chu Lingguang’s escape, hidden in the cave, and killed Batu Mu’s last six men. Throughout the entire ordeal, they had only rested for a moment after entering the cave. The power in their Qi Seas was almost completely depleted. Not only were they covered in wounds, they were also utterly exhausted.

Just forcing themselves to stand and walk toward the entrance was already their absolute limit.

Every step tugged at their injuries, making them grimace in pain as cold sweat dripped down their faces. But the thought of Chu Lingguang in imminent danger, hounded by Batu Mu, made the four of them feel sick with worry.

Just as Mo Lei had said, the four of them could die together, but they couldn’t drag Chu Lingguang down with them.

The Primitive Power erupted like a great, flooding river.

Batu Mu’s Saber Shadow Barrier was instantly shattered by the spear. His Divine Image Small Vortex and Qi Phase Scale Armor were pulverized along with it. Chu Lingguang’s spear descended from above, striking him heavily on the chest.

Batu Mu’s body was sent flying, snapping several trees behind him.

Chu Lingguang pressed his advantage. His Spear Technique changed, and he executed a Thrust from the Flying Leaf Lotus Spear, aiming for Batu Mu’s vitals.

Batu Mu used his long saber to flick branches and stones from the ground at Chu Lingguang, then turned to run in the direction of the Turkic lands. Chu Lingguang swatted the flying debris aside and charged after Batu Mu at top speed.

Once again, he enveloped Batu Mu with his Spear Technique.

"This..."

Mo Shan’s face was slack with astonishment.

"Brother, I think I’m hallucinating."

Mo Shuang involuntarily let go of Demon Mark’s shoulder.

"I think I am too."

Mo Lei added. The two of them walked woodenly to Mo Shan’s side, completely stunned by the scene before them.

"AH! I’m not! It hurts!"

Demon Mark cried out in pain. The flesh of his right leg was barely attached, the bone long since shattered. Mo Shuang and Mo Lei had let go at almost the same time. All four of them had thought Chu Lingguang shot those four arrow shafts at Batu Mu just to escape with his life over South Mountain. They never imagined he left the arrow shafts in Batu Mu simply to give himself a better chance of defeating him.

’Perhaps, just like us, he never even considered running away.’

They had risked everything to help Chu Lingguang break through the encirclement so he could survive. It seemed Chu Lingguang was also giving his all, for the sole purpose of surviving together with them.

Before heading into battle, the soldiers would always sing it several times to boost their morale.

Now, the four of them were too weak to fight. They had to lean on each other just to stand. They couldn’t help at all, so all they could do was watch Chu Lingguang from afar and sing the Border Defense Army’s war song to bolster his spirits.

"Kill!"

The sound of their voices caused the ferocity of Chu Lingguang’s Spear Technique to suddenly spike.

He charged out, riding Little Red Horse.

He poured all his strength into a charge at Batu Mu, using the threefold Potential Energy Superposition to send him flying once again.

In that instant, Chu Lingguang realized that Batu Mu was now severely wounded. ’If I press on without letting up,’ he thought, ’I might actually be able to kill him.’

So he dismounted, activated his Flesh and Blood Divine Abilities, and with a single Thrust, wounded the already-injured Batu Mu further. He switched back and forth between the Basic Thirteen Spear Techniques and the six-layered power of the Flying Leaf Lotus Spear.

Batu Mu was caught completely off guard.

On top of his previous grave injuries.

Whether it was Mo Shan’s final saber strike, the four arrow shafts, the sweeping spear blow from the charge, or the invisible spear strike from the Flesh and Blood Divine Power, each attack had piled injury upon injury on Batu Mu.

Before, he could still use his Saber Technique to contend with Chu Lingguang.

Slowly, he was reduced to pure defense.

Now, he was in a full-blown, panicked retreat, like a stray dog, using all his might to escape Chu Lingguang’s spear shadows and vanish from sight.

However, the war song from Mo Shan and the others made Chu Lingguang realize they were all still alive. When those six men had rushed into the cave, Mo Shan and his brothers must have ambushed them, dealing with them with all possible speed and at any cost.

Chu Lingguang hadn’t been sure. He didn’t know if Mo Shan and his brothers would survive. He only knew that their only chance at survival was if he took on Batu Mu himself.

Thankfully.

Fate favors the loyal and righteous.

Mo Shan and his three brothers had all survived. Instantly freed from his mental burden, Chu Lingguang’s Spear Technique became faster, his moves more vicious, giving Batu Mu no chance to breathe.

"ARGH!"

Finally, he sent the two Curved Sabers in Batu Mu’s hands flying.

With another threefold Potential Energy Superposition, he smashed his spear into Batu Mu’s forehead. The Divine Image Small Vortex, the Qi Phase Scale Armor, and Batu Mu’s head were all pulverized together by that terrifying force.

Chu Lingguang even slammed Batu Mu’s body into the ground with the force of the blow.
