Eternal Life: My Lifespan Increases Daily
Chapter 414 - 316: Great Demon Kite! (Double Length)
The next moment, another wing spread out, even more enormous.
"This is!" Song Changming’s eyes widened, and he immediately held his breath and concealed his presence, landing in the forest without floating any further.
He heard a thunderous roar, the clouds above were torn apart, a massive shadow descended from the clouds.
It was the giant eagle that had been driven away by Wang Tianshuang earlier!
Looking at it now, the giant eagle seemed to be battling someone else above the sky, stirring the sea of clouds.
"Hawk! I already avoided you, why do you persist in pursuing!" The giant eagle, drenched with blood, rained it upon the earth, inciting a frenzy among the exotic beasts and fierce beasts below.
They were fighting for the demon blood shed by the giant eagle, which, to them, was a tremendous tonic, even more useful than many heavenly and earthly treasures.
Even Song Changming felt a bit envious watching it.
Such a formidable creature as the giant eagle, almost at the level of a Great Demon, possessed blood that was indeed valuable for his body refinement.
But he remained calm, understanding the might of this giant eagle— even the Grand Marshal Wang Tianshuang couldn’t slay it, which spoke volumes.
Not to mention the fact that he had previously slain two of its offspring, seizing a large amount of blood qi essence from the Eagle Demon clan for body forging. Regardless of whether the giant eagle held a grudge, this was still a matter of cause and effect, of vendetta.
To be safe, he did not approach.
The fog seemed to be parted by invisible giant hands, revealing the full view of the giant eagle, and at the same time revealing a figure hovering in mid-air!
The figure stood on the high sky above the giant eagle, with the scorching sun blazing behind them.
As they stood against the dazzling sun, their face was indistinct.
The giant eagle was glaring intently at this human figure, minuscule in comparison.
Evidently, moments before, the giant eagle was engaged in fierce battle with this person.
From Song Changming’s perspective, the giant eagle with its cumbersome body was continuously shedding blood, clearly appearing to be the defeated party, bluster concealing weakness.
In contrast, the figure wore pure white robes, with hems and sleeves speckled as if with ink.
Focusing his gaze, Song Changming saw it was a woman.
Her appearance was coldly beautiful, her expression indifferent before the giant eagle.
There was a red mark between her brows, resembling a leaf or feather.
High in the heavens, subduing a demon, she should have exuded an ethereal presence, like a celestial maiden descended to the mortal realm.
But alas, her aura of demon qi was overwhelming, even surpassing the giant eagle’s!
Her eyes too, were pale-golden demon eyes, not human.
Evidently, she was also a demon, and one far stronger than the giant eagle!
"Hawk..." Song Changming, having just heard the giant eagle’s words, was abruptly alerted.
According to intelligence from above, a demon scourge erupted on West Valley Road due to the appearance of a great secret treasure, gathering ten thousand demons to struggle for it. A demon snatched this secret treasure and ascended to the ranks of Great Demons!
And this Great Demon was named Hawk!
"Could this Great Demon be the woman before me..." Song Changming murmured to himself.
Considering the density of demon qi emanating from her, the possibility seemed substantial!
"Wasn’t it said that the Great Demon was on West Valley Road, why is she here?"
Song Changming was taken aback— he didn’t realize what luck he was having these days to continually encounter Great Demons!
Previously Master Baitian, and now this Great Demon Kite!
"I must repair my demon essence, need your flesh and blood," the woman spoke faintly.
"In your dreams, if you need healing, go devour some humans, why come to me?"
"You have thwarted me repeatedly, do you think I am made of clay!"
The giant eagle bellowed in anger, twisting its form and flapping its wings to create a gale, fleeing into the distance with speed like lightning.
The woman moved almost simultaneously, chasing after it.
The two disappeared before Song Changming’s eyes in an instant, heading to some unknown location for battle.
"This matter must be reported immediately," Song Changming murmured to himself.
Besides the giant eagle, the intrusion of the Great Demon Kite into the Cui Bai Dao area was the crux of the issue and definitely worthy of the government’s military’s utmost attention.
If these two powerful demons were to cause havoc, their destructive force would be too great, no Human Race city could withstand the ravages of a Great Demon.
Because of this, Prince Cui stepped in without hesitation previously, beating and driving the trespassing Master Baitian away from the Human Race’s territory, ensuring it dared not to return to Cui Bai Dao.
But now, with Prince Cui gone to West Valley Road, he might not be aware that the Great Demon Kite had already arrived at Cui Bai Dao.
Without Prince Cui, Song Changming was unsure if the vast Cui Bai Dao possessed the combat strength to resist a Great Demon.
"Damnable!" A distant eagle’s cry tore through the air, striking the lofty cliff as if artillery fire, knocking down a large section of rocks and vegetation.
Atop the cliff was a giant bird’s nest, built from a field of flowers and green vines alongside numerous natural jade stones, unlike an ordinary bird’s nest— it was remarkably beautiful.
Despite the impact on the cliff, the meticulously crafted bird’s nest remained intact, only the Spirit Crystals piled within were tossed out, blown away off the peak by the wind.
Along with the flying Spirit Crystals, a small, nondescript ball of fluff was also thrown out.
"Chirp?"
The fluff ball stretched its body, revealing two tiny talons and wings, with beady eyes like red beans, seemingly just awakening, dazedly surveying its surroundings.
In the next moment, it became frantic.
Watching helplessly as the nest that provided warmth and comfort drifted further away, its body soaring in the wind before accelerating downward.
"!!"
The instinct to survive pushed the newborn to desperately flap its wings.
Alas, amid the chaotic wind, it was futile, causing it to spin uncontrollably, finally landing amidst the forest below. 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖
Thanks to the cushioning trees and vines, it was rattled and dizzy, but survived the descent unscathed.
Unsure whether it was due to its feather-like, resilient body, or some other reason, despite falling from thousands of meters, it wasn’t killed.
It struggled upright, wobbling around the ground, bumping here and there, unable to regain its footing for awhile.
Suddenly, a small mound burst open in the woods, a plump mouser surfaced, looking towards the cliff, confirming no more rocks would fall.
Then it curiously sized up the yellow fluff ball-like creature, seemingly assessing whether it could be eaten.
The fluff ball seemed to have eyes behind its head, sensing it was being watched, turning around to meet the mouser’s gaze.
The mouser emitted a fierce, screeching sound.
"Chirp!" The fluff ball appeared extremely annoyed, undaunted by the mouser several times its size, flapping its short wings, loudly protesting.
The scene shifted, to the forest.
The fluff ball was chased by the mouser, scrambling across the ground, flapping wings and running swiftly.
Until it collided into a pair of war boots, bouncing back.
"Hmm?" Song Changming looked down at the yellow fluff ball, picking it up.
"A chick?"
In this wild mountainous forest, where could a chick come from?
The mouser, seeing Song Changming, was also startled, turning tail to flee without hesitation.
The chick, collected in Song Changming’s hands, suddenly calmed down, quiet and docile, seemingly studying Song Changming’s face as he peered closely.
"Its intelligence is quite high, unlike an ordinary chick," Song Changming judged.
He had come here for the abundant Spirit Crystals falling from the mountains above.
This was like money falling from the sky, something he could not ignore.
Considering, Song Changming casually tossed the harmless chick aside, paying it no mind.
First, he needed to collect all the Spirit Crystals scattered on the ground.
These Spirit Crystals varied from low-grade to some middle-grade.
Although the quality wasn’t extremely high, the quantity was substantial, enticing Song Changming.
Together they constituted a valuable gain.
He wished to accelerate his cultivation, and these Spirit Crystals were essential Qi Refining resources.
Gazing at the glittering ground, like diamonds scattered everywhere.
Song Changming waved his hand, sweeping up all the Spirit Crystals with his Innate Qi Aura.
Collecting as he moved, once he nearly gathered all the scattered Spirit Crystals in the area, looking back he saw the unusual chick still followed behind him.
Seeing Song Changming turn back, it obediently stopped, raising its head to meet his eyes.
Its jewel-like red bean eyes revealed nothing of its emotions.
"Interesting..." Song Changming raised an eyebrow, thinking.
...
