Evolution: From Calamity To Accursed Calamity
Chapter 10: [ - ● Original Form Recreation!]
"Alright, let’s do this." Aezaleon smiled, finding her actions rather entertaining. "I guess feeling and realizing that you’ve become so weak all of a sudden must feel uncomfortable, right!"
His teasing was a playful spark jumping across a gap of cold iron. He walked past her, towards the three dragon skeletons.
Whereas, Clementine flushed a little, following behind him. ’Ugh... he can sense my emotions, how bothersome. I will need some time to get used to this new reality.’
Putting her meaningless thoughts aside, she observed Aezaleon keenly from the side with a few meters’ distance separating them.
On the other hand, Aezaleon put his hand on the snout of the twenty-meters-tall skeletal dragon head, gazing at it and feeling so small compared to it. Furthermore, the mountainous pressure coming from these deteriorating old bones didn’t help much either.
He gritted his teeth, calmed his thrumming heart, and closed his eyes for a second. The subsequent moment, his crimson eyes snapped open, radiating nothing but coldness and ruthlessness. His mouth parted and the words came out as they were meant to be! His tone: emotionless and flat.
<Original Form Recreation!> ...
Aezaleon activated one of his sub-abilities, <Original Form Recreation>, from his Ability effect six, <Dead’s Salvation: Master’s Loyalty>, of his innate ability, <Absolute Will>, to recreate a perfect body for Clementine, his companion.
As of now Aezaleon had no clue how the ability worked; all he knew was that through the material sacrifice he would be able to recreate the perfect body for his companion.
Meanwhile, the moment Aezaleon had used his sub-ability of Ability effect six, the same translucent energy with black and white strands gushed out from his palm, in a second encompassing the whole dragon skeleton. Alas, it didn’t stop there, as it moved, slithering through the space towards the other skeleton and then the next second, towards the third skeleton.
WHOOOM! ...
WHIRLING! WHIRLING! ...
In mere five seconds, the three dragon skeletons were all encompassed in his strange energy, that raged in a chaotic manner, swirling in the air like an untamed storm. It was like a whirlpool of light ready to reshape reality.
Next second, the hard, tough, dense, and massive old bones of the dragon started disintegrating suddenly into small quantum-sized white-colored energy particles. The process was eerily similar to when Aezaleon had forcefully formed the contract with Clementine, yet also much different simultaneously!
Meanwhile, Clementine herself couldn’t help but tremble as she watched the marvelous sight in both fascination and intrigue.
Recreation of the material body; certainly it was not a new concept to her.
She even had a sub ability called <Cellular Restoration>, capable of doing something similar and even much more; however, what she saw before her was different. She couldn’t put her finger on it, but she could feel it—the nature of the ability Aezaleon activated was vastly different from her own ability, thus the process made her grow that much more fascinated.
While she was busy in her own thoughts, a sudden voice pulled her out of them.
"The body will be reconstructed in a minute." Aezaleon withdrew his hand and moved backward a few steps. Coming to a stop beside her, he continued.
"I can’t believe I used all the bones of these ascension rank 10 dragons just to recreate your body. I suppose it’s a fair price to pay, considering the ability isn’t using my own energy to function, otherwise it would’ve been utterly impossible for me to recreate the perfect form you had prior to your death."
His words were a heavy weight, balancing the life of a companion against the remains of giants.
OH!
"That’s a surprise; are you implying that I’ll get the same body I had when I was alive as a rank 10 Divine Entity? If yes, then what about my bloodline tier and core tier—will I have them too, the same as when I was alive?!"
Clementine Eyth Lifeblood questioned in an excited voice.
Aezaleon glanced at her, his brow raised.
"I think your body will remain the same as the one you had as a Divine Entity; it won’t regress to become a mortal body. Additionally, you will most probably keep your core tier and bloodline tier too, alongside all your abilities if I’m not wrong, though I think that this is all these dragon bones are capable of and your ascension rank would most probably regress to ascension rank 1 or at most rank 2."
"That’s really wonderful!" Clementine exclaimed. Her excitement was a sudden sunrise breaking through a long night.
"I don’t think I will need as much time and effort to raise my ascension ranks as I had needed to raise my core and bloodline tier! It isn’t easy to evolve them, you know!" She pouted, complaining out of nowhere. "Even more so when I have more than one bloodline and cores!"
Aezaleon, not giving her words much heed, requested.
"Anyways, I think you should go back now. The synchronization of your soul and body would begin soon, and I’m not sure what will happen if you are outside of my soul sea when the synchronization of the material and the spiritual starts because, you know, this is my first time doing something like this! I’m not confident everything will go as I have imagined if you remain outside, Clementine."
MmM!
"The synchronization, then the fusion of the body and the soul and then the assimilation of both—perhaps that is how it will work. If that’s the case then I believe my spiritual and material ascension cores will get fused too. I can’t believe that my path to rank 10 will be this smooth in this lifetime. I’m so excited!"
Aezaleon blinked on hearing her talking to herself and smiling like an excited girl. "What are you muttering about, Clementine?! We don’t have much time." He reminded in an annoyed tone. His annoyance was like a sharp snap of a finger in the middle of her daydream.
"Uh.. oh.. Nothing! Nothing at all...!"
She came out of her thoughts and glanced at him, smiling. "What are you waiting for, summon me back, idiot." Her brows arched.
Aezaleon shook his head and waved his hand, making the woman disappear into the same red particles in which she had appeared. The particles dissipated into the world the next second. She dissolved like mist under the morning sun.
Meanwhile, Aezaleon again shifted his attention towards the translucent black-white swirling chaos before him.
... ... ... ... ...
In about thirty seconds, the whole process of body reconstruction and the soul synchronization was completed. Now, what lay before Aezaleon was a cocoon of condensed white matter with innumerable thick and thin black veins pulsating on its surface as though alive.
The black veins slithered and shifted over the surface of the white cocoon, radiating a dark glow in pulses with each passing second, as though in sync with a soundless heartbeat. Soon in another twenty seconds, the surface of the cocoon changed from white to red, and the veins morphed white from black.
The cocoon was like a beating heart outside of a body, dark and mysterious.
All these changes happened in real time which were all witnessed by Aezaleon, who did not miss a single thing, observing them sharply without even blinking—from the moment of Clementine’s restored soul getting pulled out of his soul sea, to her entering the condensed cocoon of white matter.
From Clementine going unconscious without realizing to her soul synchronizing with her new body.
From the formation of the cocoon to her body and soul adapting further in the process of fusion. From the cocoon turning a blood-red to the sudden and the beautiful beat of a new heart.
