Evolution: From Calamity To Accursed Calamity
Chapter 19: [ - ● Ruler of Paradoxical Limitation!]
UM! ...
"Actually, I’ve two ruler-type abilities."
Aezaleon said out of nowhere. Clementine paused, looking at him while blinking in utter bewilderment. Clearly, she was confused by his statement. "The other one is my ultimate ability, <Ruler of Paradoxical Limitation>."
"It is a fusion between the Law of Contradiction and the Law of Limitation. Even I don’t know much myself, but this is the information I have in my head," Aezaleon clarified in a steady voice. "Also, there is some general knowledge too, that informs me what the two Laws do. Moreover, it is only partially active at the moment. The information is too complex for me to make out much of it, but I think the inactivation is all because of my current strength. The resistance will be too much for the current me to handle, not to mention the energy expenditure the sub-abilities are demanding. There are some other factors too, but in simple words; I’ll most probably die if I try to comprehend or use the sub-abilities related to the Law as I am now!"
His words were like heavy weights being added to an already overflowing scale.
Clementine stared at Aezaleon in silence for a full ten seconds, not even blinking. Her expression, in simple words, was one of pure shock upon hearing his words. However, then the unexpected happened. As, the next instant, she rushed towards him, hugged him, and lifted him into the air, laughing uncontrollably. Her laughter was a sudden, joyous explosion that shattered the tension of the forest.
Meanwhile, seeing such unusual behavior from this ancient and prideful woman left Aezaleon thoroughly out of his loop for a second, making him not know how to react to the sudden turn of events in his current situation.
Nonetheless, after calming down in a minute, Clementine put Aezaleon down.
Where, he couldn’t help but utter while looking at her infatuated face, "That was!... unexpected." Her emotions and behaviors were changing so fast and so much in such a short time that he was truly having a hard time understanding her.
"What do you believe I would do when I found out how strong my husband is!" she exclaimed with a wide, radiant smile. Her thoughts were very complex at the moment. However, she was truly happy when she thought how much easier it would be to exact her vengeance now with another absolute ability and two ruler-type abilities user compared to before, since her enemies had many more and much more.
"A powerful cosmic Law geared towards the manipulation and suppression of the fundamental rules, information, and energy—aka affecting and changing the known reality! And another that even I don’t know much about, in spite of who I am. In fact, I don’t even know the Law ranks of the two cosmic Laws you have."
Clementine shook her head with a pleased smile. "Ahhh...! I so much want to bed you right now, Aezaleon. To seal the deal completely and make you mine. Alas, I can’t do that after all what I have said previously," she sighed in a conflicted tone.
—[Chapter 12—Her words about making him worthy of her!]
SIGH! ...
"I don’t understand you at all!" Aezaleon voiced in a confounded manner.
"Then don’t try to understand me, husband," Clementine responded to Aezaleon’s remark in a playful tone. "It is impossible; I’m a woman, after all," she added while looking directly into his eyes. "Anyhow, it looks like it would be some time before you can comprehend these concepts of [Contradiction], [Limitation], and [Oblivion] and the Laws too!"
"Huh? Wh..what do you mean?! I can’t comprehend them?!" Aezaleon questioned, his voice rising in disbelief.
Clementine smirked. "Sometimes having strong powers doesn’t mean you’ll become strong too; rather, you have to be strong enough to use these kinds of powers." Her words were a cold reality check, grounding his soaring expectations.
"What the...!" Aezaleon opened his mouth, completely speechless. "When can I use them, then?" 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶
"HM!" Clementine hummed thoughtfully.
"If I have to guess, then I’ll take the Law of Contradiction and Limitation as Utmost Cosmic Laws! With their starting point being at Transcendental rank, a Law rank below Utmost Laws."
"As for the Law of Oblivion and Paradoxical Limitation—I don’t know much about them nor how powerful they are. However, I can still say as a Law coming from an absolute ability and a fusion of two Utmost Laws, they would without a doubt be an Utmost Law! In other words, their starting points should also be at the Transcendental Law rank. Which means, you have to transcend mortality by ascending to the ascension rank seven to even think of comprehending the Laws you have. While, for the concepts these Laws contain, they should all mostly be quite high-tiered. At the bare minimum starting from Extreme Tier concepts!"
"A tier which to comprehend, you at least need to become a Void Calamity or a Sovereign. In simpler words, evolving your bloodline to tier two or ascension core to tier three. Still, they will still have the inferior and the superior concepts, but it will be hard for you to comprehend them too. Considering a small mistake when you activate the comprehension-type sub-ability effect of your two ruler-type ability effects, and you’ll die."
The path ahead was a narrow bridge over an endless chasm, where any misstep meant total annihilation.
"That...!" Aezaleon was dumbfounded! Completely and thoroughly stunned and lost for words. "I don’t even know how to raise my core tier or to become a void calamity, let alone how long it would take to achieve these evolutions," he muttered in a dazed voice.
"Don’t complain; in due time I’ll tell you everything. For the time being, use your <Matter Absorption> on this Calamity White Ibex. I think with how strong he was, his information should be organized and ordered enough to at least give you a concept or two. In any case, it really doesn’t matter even if you don’t get any concepts from it, as there are several other ways to learn concepts in this world. For now, we’ll continue our hunt and let’s see if I can find you some unique materials or not," Clementine suggested in a motivating tone.
Aezaleon exhaled deeply.
"Let’s do that then," he voiced, nodding his head towards Clementine. He walked towards the dead goat, and on reaching it, he stretched his hands forward and used his ability, <Matter Absorption>, on it.
The translucent energy with black-white strands flowed out of his hand seamlessly, quickly covering the whole carcass. The disintegration began afterwards, and a white energy ball of a centimeter’s diameter came out the next second. With him as the target, it obviously shot into his chest.
The energy was a cold star finding its home in his core.
HMMMMH!
