"Simply put—Necrox is decay that feeds on death and vice versa, and it turns that cycle into power. Also, its other trait is that it makes its users, in this case the Necroth Veyrix Undead Revenantiz, much harder to kill. Because it essentially transforms damage into energy, using decay as fuel and existing in a state between life and death. Meaning, the more something dies, rots, or decays, the stronger [Necrox] becomes."

"So," she shifted her attention to the violet-haired girl, her eyes gleaming with a strange curiosity. "How did you manage to kill it, little sister? Even more so when it is higher in rank than you?" Clementine questioned in a playful tone. "I’m curious. Won’t you fulfill my curiosity~!"

"I merely used Nytherion to battle it and in time its existence became light and thin enough for me to just erase it. There wasn’t much else to the battle. In fact, now even I’m confused after hearing your explanation, big sister. When it has life in death, how come it was again embraced by death?"

Aphryne made a confused expression, her brow furrowing as she pondered the contradiction.

"Let’s forget about it," Clementine waved her hand dismissively, her voice airy and unconcerned. "It’s probably because of Oblivion." Simply hearing that first sentence told her everything she needed to know about how the battle ended.

"They are my Laws, yet I am currently incapable of using them. How frustrating. Truly pitiful," Aezaleon exhaled on the side on hearing her words, feeling his lack of power like a thorn in his side.

The Cosmic Laws were vastly stronger and in return faced a proportional resistance from the world, whereas he was far weaker and wasn’t yet capable of surviving that resistance, let alone handling it.

"Nonetheless, since your curiosities are fulfilled, why don’t you start what we came here for?" Clementine commented with a sharp, expectant look.

He nodded, his eyes focusing on the piles of power waiting to be claimed. Nearing the mountain of dead bodies, he began separating them by their types.

Aside from the Venyx Decaylith Manticor and the Necroth Veyrix Undead Revenantiz who were both Material Ascension rank 4, the others were all Material Ascension rank 3 and Spiritual Ascension rank 1.

Also, there were three who were rank 2 in their Spiritual Ascension rank. Mainly the Gorilla—Umbryth Gorlux, the Antelope—Radiant Cervion, and the Pangolin—Terranox Lithoroll Pangorid.

Their element was—Noctzeph for the Gorilla, a Shadow-wind type element. Solvyrn—a Light-type element with wind properties and concepts. Lastly, it was Cryston—an Earth plus crystal type element.

Aezaleon started with the insect type calamities first, pulling them away from the heap. Separating them from the mountain took little effort, as there were only two insects; the scorpion and the mantis, so he was done in under a minute. Their forms weren’t large either, measuring about three-four meters only.

He observed them with a focused gaze.

The Calamity: Viridflux Wind Mantis had a tall emerald exoskeleton and blade-like forearms. Green luminous currents flowed along its limbs, forming sharp wind edges that flickered like light. Its lightless eyes were deep red and it had two pairs of them.

Also, with an element—Viridion—or simply the—Greenlight Wind—that was primarily focused on precision plus speed plus cutting control, it was a predator.

It stood as a silent executioner waiting for a signal.

A true menace of a calamity!

Subsequently, there was the scorpion, the Calamity: Pyroven Fluxwind Scorpion. It was one large insect with dark red armor decorated with glowing cracks. Its tail was still burning in toxic flame despite its death, releasing heated wind currents mixed with venomous particles.

It had the element—Flamvenox! Flames that were born on the foundation of wind and venom.

The element excelled in damage over time, area pressure plus lethal strikes. It was a powerful element capable of control-spreading flame-poison currents, releasing toxic heated wind bursts and filling the atmosphere with venomous burning airflow!

Nonetheless, despite how strong these two calamities were, they were already dead. Meaning, they weren’t stronger than his super amazing and super powerful wife.

Without further delay, Aezaleon used—Matter Absorption—on the two motionless bodies simultaneously. The translucent energy with black-white strands encompassed them the next second.

The usual process once more started. The two bodies started disintegrating into small quantum-sized energy particles of light-green and red-green color. The energy flowed like a river of starlight being pulled into a vacuum.

The process was completed in a mere five seconds, giving form to two energy spheres of the mentioned colors.

With the target already set, they shot into Aphryne’s chest. Thereupon, she used the overflowing energy to damage her own body, so that it would become stronger in the process of restoration.

A simple method but a painful one nonetheless.

Presently, she was also actively trying to go through the information in the energy overflowing inside her body. To organize it. To understand it, so that she could comprehend it. She had to do this before all this energy was absorbed by her material ascension core, whose tier she was also refining simultaneously.

They had already decided that they would not advance to the next ascension rank before becoming a Monarch. Considering, the higher one’s rank was, the harder it was to refine one’s core to evolve it to the next tier.

From the outside, Aezaleon could clearly see her skin fracturing, muscles rupturing, veins cracking, and blood flowing out. He watched the sweat on her face and the visible clench of her jaws.

She was in pain, but at the same time, the energy was also regenerating the damage proportional to the speed of the damage it was doing to her, so relief was also present at the same time. These were two contradictory sensations she was feeling currently.

A minute passed. 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂

Her Material-Spiritual Ascension cores had consumed all of the energy to refine themselves, considering the core tier refinement was a two-way process, where one had to refine both the cores simultaneously.

The process was complete.

Aphryne opened her eyes, releasing a steamy breath of relief.

"How are you feeling?" Aezaleon asked in a concerned voice.

"Not very good," Aphryne responded, refocusing her crimson eyes on Aezaleon. "But I think I can still continue." He nodded, feeling no longer concerned since he knew what she said was true, and not simply to reassure him through their soul connection.
