Before he knew it, the night was over in an instant.

The brilliant light of the sun high above hit his eyes, making him grunt. In the end, Aezaleon was forced to open them as no amount of turning around could solve this problem.

Aezaleon sat.

His eyes furrowed in displeasure and dissatisfaction. He looked at the sun above, only to lower his gaze the next second as the piercing light attacked his pupils. 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺

’Too weak. But one day, I’ll definitely teach it a lesson.’

He resolved in his heart, marking an unexpected target for revenge in his head for an absurd (important) reason no less.

Setting the matter aside, Aezaleon looked into his soul, finding his three girls fast asleep. He didn’t disturb them and simply went towards the pond to clean himself up from last night’s activities. It didn’t take long for him to bathe and clean himself, still he took his sweet time, just relaxing in the cold morning water.

His body felt good and his mind refreshed.

After he was done, he decided to go find a calamity or two to test his two new abilities.

The Cryovant Fracture Lockdrive and the second category of his ability—Linear Frost Severance: Glacial Vector Impalement!

Even though he said that, both abilities were different, distinct and weren’t part of the same architecture, only having some foundational similarities. Therefore considering the latter as a sub of the former was pure useless.

He chose the same direction they were traveling towards, the south, and began his journey. During which Aezaleon actively used—[Eternal Oath Genesis]—to look for some strong living soul.

Any rank two or three soul would result in a strong calamity after all.

Eternal Oath Genesis is a hybrid companion-bonding authority.

It passively detects suitable souls, spirits, and similar beings, analyzes their condition, compatibility, and potential, and can subtly guide the user toward them through an initial non-binding connection.

Actively, it forms a permanent soul pact, turning them into bonded companions connected to the Infinite Soul Sea and the entire companion system.

Sub-Ability — [Eternal Oath Genesis] — Effects:

1. Detection & Analysis — [Passively detects suitable souls, spirits, consciousness entities, and similar beings, then analyzes their condition, compatibility, ownership state, and growth potential (major factor towards the guide effect)].

2. Initial Connection — [Creates a subtle non-binding soul thread, establishing/allowing awareness, resonance, and sometimes directional pull toward the target. This connection can instinctively guide the user toward suitable companions and may override any and all obstructive influences attempting to prevent the contact].

(Majorly dependent on Aezaleon’s soul stability, density, and integrity).

3. Oath Formation — [Actively establishes a permanent soul pact between the user and the chosen entity].

4. Initial Soul Restoration — [Upon a successful contract, the target’s soul is immediately stabilized and begins restoring toward its natural state, though severe damage may cause incomplete recovery or even rank regression].

5. Soul Anchoring — [Binds the contracted entity to the user’s Soul Sea, securing their connection within the companion system].

6. Companion Conversion — [Transforms the bonded target into an official Companion recognized by the entire ability framework].

7. System Integration — [Grants the Companion access to linked systems like communication, summoning, shared growth, support resonance, and other companion benefits].

Because of effect two of the sub-ability—[Eternal Oath Genesis], the preventive actions from the [Lines of Fate], which for some reason unknown, didn’t want the connection between Clementine and Aezaleon to form, were completely overridden, and he was forced and urged to move forward despite everything else.

The same sensation, Aezaleon felt it again.

It had been thirty minutes since he had started his search. Most of the calamities he sensed were ascension rank three and lower. It appeared harder to find a rank four calamity in this area compared to the one he came from. In fact, he hadn’t even found a single pureblood calamity despite traveling a distance of seventy thousand meters.

[Displacement = Fifty Thousand Meters]

When he sensed the exact same sensation for the second time, his steps halted. He was so shocked that even the three sleeping girls felt it. They woke up with wide eyes and immediately came outside, their sudden emergence happening without even a second’s delay.

"What happened?"

Clementine asked, promptly doing a quick scan of the surroundings. But she didn’t find anything of danger nearby; rather, everything was so weak here, which only made her more confused.

She refocused on him, her brows furrowed in a tight line.

"What happened, Aezaleon?!" Auguszta questioned with a slightly raised voice, grasping his hand with both of hers, thus bringing him out of his shock.

"Uh!"

He looked at the three girls, realization dawning on him. He couldn’t believe he had lost his cool like this and made them worry for nothing.

"I’m feeling the same pull I felt for you back then," he told them in a disbelieving tone.

Clementine frowned, understanding him with just that. "Are you sure?" she inquired with an intensely sharp gaze.

He nodded, since he couldn’t be anymore surer.

"Well, this is a surprise. What could be here in this weak land that would be helpful to you? Otherwise, the pull won’t trigger," she noted thoughtfully.

"Compared to yours, the pull isn’t that strong, but I’m still curious. It is my second time having this feeling, so I at least want to check," he replied with an eager edge.

"Okay, let’s move forward," she responded in a serious tone. "We aren’t diverting much from our main path either, so it works anyways."

Whereas, the two girls were very much confused about what he and Clementine discussed. Therefore, while on the move, they asked, and thus got to know the history between their husband and big sister.

To say the least, they were left indeed stunned, taking some time to digest that their big sister had at one point tried to kill their husband. The current her was just so different from the woman Aezaleon described here.

After a journey of another twenty minutes, the four reached and entered a mist-filled area saturated with thermal red particles.

Clementine observed it and quickly sensed the dense energy signature of Pyreveil not far from them. It was in the same direction they were headed to, so there wasn’t much to discuss, but she still informed the three about it, its resource type, what it could do, and so on.

Like its concepts and nature as a comprehensive-type resource!

As they moved deeper into the red mist, gradually their vision began to fluctuate because of the effect Pyreveil had on the environment, or it would have, but Aezaleon’s ability effect one completely nullified the perceptory disturbance from the resource passively.

And with the Shared Ascension Matrix, the three girls were also immune to its effects, not like they would be affected anyways even without him.

Deeper into the mist, the surroundings became dense with a heavy, low-hanging thermal mist that clung close to the surface like a heavy crimson blanket drifting unnaturally low over the earth.

Within it, tiny thermal embers floated like fireflies, but they didn’t rise—merely hovering and pulsing in place.

Their journey forward was smooth. Whatever the effect the resource had on the environment, it wasn’t very effective against them.
