"If that is the case, then how about we completely eliminate this ’even’ to make it a ’sure’ thing? We can hunt more powerful calamities to gather a larger quantity of energy. With your power combined, that should be enough to make Anastasia a Sovereign, correct?" Aezaleon smiled.

He was already treating her completely as [His], actively searching for ways to strengthen her physical and spiritual form.

Clementine shook her head, refuting his plan. "Unfortunately, that won’t work. As I have told you already, in core tier refinement, quality matters far more than quantity. As an Ascension rank four, to become a Monarch, she would need ten thousand primary energy stones of rank four. However, to become a [Sovereign] from a [Monarch], it would require one hundred thousand primary energy stones, or ten thousand Legendary Energy Stones of rank four. To become an Alpha, that would be ten thousand Mythical Energy Stones, or one hundred thousand Legendary Energy Stones, or a full million Primary Energy Stones of rank four. You see the sheer difficulty here? Nevertheless, let me also tell you that energy alone is not enough to become a Sovereign. There are a few other conditions too, that one has to fulfill to successfully achieve that Core Tier!" Clementine explained in a serious voice.

It was already an absolute miracle that Anastasia even got the slim chance to reach such an advanced state. It was only possible because of Clementine’s presence, and not even solely because of Aezaleon’s Absolute Ability.

She was the direct source; without her, there was no point, even if he possessed the ability itself. He simply would not have the required energy to utilize most of what his system could actually do anyways.

Afterwards, they had a bit more detailed discussion about many other important matters.

Mainly, Anastasia began briefing them more about her past life, the exact events that led to her tragic death, and the layout of the City of Varion itself.

The city had three major sovereign powers ruling over three different regions of its territory, alongside an Adventurers Guild that existed as a separate entity ruling over another part. Lastly, the Resonant Trynium Academy, which was located at the absolute center of Varion.

In terms of size, the academy was practically a city on its own, whose supreme Dean was an independent [High Sovereign].

Also, one of the [Thirteenth Sentinels] of the academy—Kaelen Voidstrider, the strongest Sentinel and a powerful High Angel with six magnificent wings!

Every single one of the Sentinels also had seven Guardians as their direct subordinates, who were all Material Ascension rank six [Pure Sovereigns], and they even commanded many wardens that followed them blindly, all of whom were rank six Monarchs.

Afterwards, there was the [Varion Alliance], made of the Three Major Powers, the Guild, and the Academy, which completely oversaw the city’s complete defense, offense, and majorly all that was happening both inside and outside the whole city where they lived.

It was these peoples’ sole sanctuary in a vast land infested by Calamities and the unknown enemies from a completely foreign Universe, after all.

So, the city’s defenses were absolutely not to be underestimated either.

Anastasia continued further expanding on the internal power structure of Varion and all the important, powerful individuals she knew of.

In the City of Varion, the strongest existences she had ever personally met were all only Ascension rank six High Sovereigns.

Even if there were stronger individuals hiding in the shadows, she had never met them and had no idea about them, so she didn’t say much on that matter.

Still, it was always wise to maintain absolute caution.

The outside World that Varion was connected to was called Eirion. Since her birth, she had not gone there, not even once, so she didn’t know much about it either.

Actually, it was a common reality that once outsiders came inside the [Great Link], it was truly rare for them to head back to the original land where they came from, for obvious and dangerous reasons of course.

So, she wasn’t familiar with the grand power dynamics of that distant World.

She further added that the specific place Varion was built had much weaker calamities nearby, surrounding its borders. At least, the strongest one a person would find here was almost always a rank three Calamity.

It was mainly because of the regular, non-stop hunting the Adventurers did to make a living out of them.

So compared to the far-off lands, this specific place was indeed a perfect, stable location for a Mega City of its size to exist without feeling constantly overwhelmed by non-stop calamity assaults.

This also completely confirmed Aezaleon’s earlier doubt.

Previously, when he was making his way here, he had obviously suspected that there weren’t many stronger calamities in this area after not finding even a single pureblood, even during an active search for thirty minutes.

Now, with Anastasia’s words, everything became crystal clear. He was correct after all.

The deep discussion went on, targeting many different subjects.

At the end, a definitive goal was decided.

"[The Arkanthos Primeval Expanse], I have never heard of such a forest located in the northeastern side of the [Great Link] before!" Clementine stated, her tone contemplative.

"This appears to be a place even I don’t know about." Mumbling, she refocused on the four of them.

"Alright, the first thing on our agenda is gathering Information. Afterwards, we can take our time and slowly build our strength while investigating the true depth of Varion, like if the strongest there genuinely are mere High Sovereigns. If yes, then we can move forward, formulate a plan, and destroy the two main powers of that city—the Whiteflame Clan and the Imperial House of Nizalea! As the aftermath of such a task won’t be small."

Everyone agreed.

With not much else to discuss now, Aezaleon moved towards the main task, summoning his consciousness out of his soul sea.

He gathered the dead bodies of the five elves near the massive tree, putting them beside the skeletal remains of the previous Anastasia.

He even collected the skeletons of all the calamities Anastasia had killed here before. There were at least fifty of them scattered all over the place; the majority of them were from Normalblood and only a minority were Pureblood.

Also, all were either rank three or rank two calamities; there was not a single rank four here.

With his darkwinds, it became much easier to collect them all.

Next, Aezaleon focused on Clementine, who was the only one out of his soul while the other two were still inside with Anastasia in his soul sea.

"Should I start?" he asked quietly.

"Go on," she replied with a nod.

Promptly, Aezaleon activated [Prime Form Creation] on all the materials he just collected, as well as the rank five resource Pyreveil and the massive tree where it was embedded.

Subsequently, he also activated [Calamitification: Calamitous Primogeniture].

The exact same phenomenon repeated itself.

A drop of blood came out of his chest, eating nearly all of his Energy from both of his cores combined. Along with the blood also came the translucent energy with the black-white strands.

The materials were disintegrated in a matter of seconds; even the tree where the rank five resource was embedded into was not left behind.

A blood cocoon was formed, and with Anastasia’s soul, there were also many energy spheres that shot out of his soul sea, all entering the blood cocoon in a matter of a millisecond.

They were the energy spheres formed from all the souls of the calamities he and his girls had hunted yesterday, along with the souls of the five elves.
