Chapter 157: Ch-157: Heading to towards the nest

"Edward, what the hell happened? How in heaven’s name did we suffer such heavy casualties?" Victor looked at Edward and asked in disbelief, searching for some answers.

Amber, who was standing beside Victor, looked at him in confusion."Darling, what happened?"

’Darling?!’This was the first time she had called Victor that, and both Victor and Edward snapped their heads toward her. Victor looked at her with amusement, while Edward gave her a strange look. Seeing their gazes, she could not help but blush avoid their gazes.

Victor then suppressed his mischievous thoughts, regained the seriousness on his face, and said in a serious voice "Half of the entire army has been wiped out, and we have even lost a large portion of our territory."

"What?! How come?" Amber’s eyes widened in disbelief upon hearing this. She frowned and asked, "The undead couldn’t have done this, could they?"

"No, it wasn’t the undead. From what I heard from the surviving soldiers, they said it was a new kind of spider-like monster that appeared and..." Edward paused before continuing in a slow and solemn tone,"They said it’s a Tier 4 monster, and not just one, but two Tier 4 monsters."

"What?!"Victor and Amber exclaimed simultaneously as their pupils shrank to the size of pinpricks.

Victor hurriedly asked,"Where are the monsters? They are not nearby are they?"

"You don’t need to worry, Lord Victor. The monster nest appeared near the territory formerly known as the Forest of Darkness." Edward said

"Sigh, that’s good." Victor broke out in a cold sweat as he imagined what would have happened if they had launched an assault on the core of the territory while he was absent. He would have returned only to discover a ruined domain overrun by monsters. Just thinking about it made his scalp tingle.

Edward then continued,"From what I heard from the surviving soldiers who managed to escape, the ants were initially only Tier 1. However, after devouring the fallen soldiers, they became stronger and gave birth to more ant monsters. There are now many Tier 2 and Tier 3 soldiers among them."

"Troublesome," Victor said with a frown.

Even though Victor was confident he could fight a Tier 4 monster with his bloodlines and new soul weapon, even he was not confident about facing two Tier 4 monsters at the same time.

’Maybe if I use the White Flames for healing, I could...’ Victor pondered for a moment before asking Edward,"Edward, did the soldiers make a map or something?"

"Yes, one of the survivors managed to make a map from what he remembers," Edward replied calmly, but then his eyes widened as he looked at Victor in disbelief.

"Lord Victor, it’s far too dangerous for you to go there and fight them."

"What? You’re going to fight them?"

Amber’s eyes also widened as she looked at Victor in alarm.

"Heh, do you expect me to just sit around while some beasts take my territory? And have you forgotten that I obtained a new bloodline?" Victor reminded them.

Both paused and began to ponder his words.

Seeing this, Victor added,"If I can’t beat them, I can simply escape. Don’t forget, I can turn into lightning."

After Victor said this, the tension on Amber’s and Edward’s shoulders seemed to ease somewhat.

"Fine, Lord Victor. I will make the arrangements and prepare the troops," Edward said.

But Victor stopped him.

"Edward, I will go alone. There is no need for troops," Victor said.

"But—" Edward was about to protest, but Victor glared at him and said, "Enough, it’s final."

Victor then paused and said, "I will only take Lilith."

"Hah, Sir Victor is taking Miss Lilith. Miss Lilith is stronger than Amber and Edward; you can trust Miss Lilith," Lilith, who was lying on the bed next to Victor, suddenly perked up upon hearing his words and said smugly.

The forest was not close to the Silvernum territory. If it were an ordinary player, they would have to walk for a long time to reach it. However, Victor was not bothered at all as he turned into lightning and traversed through the sky as he followed the map to where the monsters were located. As he traveled, his expression turned grim when he saw undead and powerful monsters crawling across the entire area, with some even feeding on humans. He even had to avoid a few flying monsters.

’Sigh, this will still continue for a few days until the update is complete,’ Victor thought.

In just an hour, Victor had reached the edge of the former Forest of Darkness. The surrounding sky had already begun to dim, and wisps of mist lingered around as he approached. Soon, he arrived at an area completely shrouded in darkness.

Victor could see quite a few buildings and structures that had been destroyed. These structures were built by his subordinates after he took over the Forest of Darkness as his territory.

Looking at the place filled with black, ancient trees and thick fog all around, he took a step forward.

"So ugly," Lilith said as she followed him, still slightly frightened, looking in all directions.

After walking for more than half an hour, they finally saw a large structure ahead.

"What is that thing?" Lilith asked.

"A giant spider nest..." Victor replied.

Victor created a wisp of fire, and Lilith’s eyes widened as she stepped back.

The flames quickly revealed some kind of dome made of webs and spiders. There were over a thousand spiders there, and all were different, some having the heads of various animals.

Victor used his pupil technique.

[Tier 0: Level 50]

"Lilith, why don’t you try killing them?" Victor looked at Lilith.

"Miss Lilith will kill these ugly things. Sigh, why couldn’t there be cute rats for Miss Lilith to eat? Miss Lilith even brought ketchup," Lilith said as Victor’s lips twitched at her words, and then she merged with the darkness and vanished.
