Evolving My Mythic Legion With A Legendary Skill
Chapter 169: The Mad Dogs
The assassin hidden under the ground knew its location was busted the moment he sneezed.
Quickly, he put away the weapon and turned around, using its earth abilities to escape right under the earth.
But Neil’s high senses had already locked onto him, in the 3rd phase of his phantom form, it was nearly impossible to hide away from him.
Especially at this close distance, so Neil in his disappearing state sprinted towards the target.
’That guy is at the Gold Class, it would be very very difficult to defeat him without using the phantom phases, what if he is not as good at direct fight?
But I can’t underestimate him, though if I fight him in this state then won’t my aura leak-’ Neil was just thinking as he suddenly remembered Freya.
"Freya, be ready to conceal my presence, I will try to kill him before he has a chance at fighting back or using his Field."
Field was the thing Neil was most afraid of, inside that sphere-like personal domain, not only would his strength be suppressed.
But the enemy would be in complete control and can use his abilities at maximum power.
Neil still didn’t know perfectly well about the Fields, maybe he should get more info about it from Cynthia.
"Alright, I am ready!" Cynthia replied actively.
Right as Neil got above the escaping figure of the assassin, he deactivated the skill and the big monstrous body of the phantom appeared.
There was no one around to see and Freya quickly concealed his presence completely; her ability basically was sealing other things.
Two blades materialised in his hands, one releasing extreme heat while the other was so cold that it could freeze anything.
The blades were connected to equally terrifying chains which were then wrapped around Neil’s arms.
Stomping over the ground, his body rose to a height of several dozen feet, the unsuspecting assassin just continued to flee.
Even though it was shocking that someone had discovered him despite all the arrangements, it was just impossible unless they were of 5th Origin.
How did this guy even find him out? And from so far away?
The assassin obviously wasn’t aware of Neil’s analyzer skill which literally made him go through this again.
He was just about to stop since he was sure he had lost the person following him, but right then...
BOOOOM!!
Holding the blades upside down, the fiendish figure plunged the two into the ground, creating an explosion that made the ground thousands of meters around blow up.
Lava flooded while on the other side a mountain of ice rose, in this form, the power of the Primordial Blades of Cataclysm was even more terrifying.
And the assassin was hit directly by the power of both blades, they pierced through his shoulders, almost ripping both his arms off but he managed to jump away in time.
The two arms of the assassin hung loosely on his side, as he stood in the pit full of lava.
A baffled expression was on his face, the mask that was concealing his face had already broken and his clothes had caught fire.
He quickly jumped to the freezing side, although the fire stopped but he felt as if his very nervous system was freezing.
And the energies from the blades had already entered his body, they were wreaking havoc inside him.
Destroying his organs, freezing his essence or boiling it to make it disappear, it was a complete mess.
But what shocked the assassin even more was the monstrosity standing before him, the large black figure looked so frightening that he just froze.
He had fought his fair share of monsters, killed a lot, escaped from many but it was his first time seeing such a demonic figure that instilled fear deep in his heart.
The assassin froze, his gaze landed over the dark eyes of the phantom, his body shaking.
[Phantom Imprint Activated!]
The first thing that Neil did even before attacking again, was to leave an imprint in the assassin’s soul space.
Just in case, if he failed to kill him, he would still be able to track him and keep damaging his soul and mind.
But it seemed just his aura alone was enough to scare this guy so much, and this was a killer, and a whole Origin above him.
No wonder phantoms were so feared, and that enemy planet was named as Phantom.
Now that he was out in the real world, Neil knew the stakes, if his identity as a phantom is released.
All the races, so many people would be coming to kill him.
’Now that I think about it, how am I going to tell teacher about this? Just telling her about Eli was so stressful, will she hate me because of that?’
Neil wondered but pushed that thought away for now.
ROAR
Letting out a roar, the blades he held cleaved through the air, cutting the torso of the assassin nearly in half.
This seemed to bring the guy to his senses and an urgency to escape rose in his heart.
’I can’t win, I can’t defeat this monster, what even is it?
When did it respawn? Is it the famous Phantom?’ the assassin didn’t care about his injuries as he turned and tried to flee.
But how can Neil just let him go.
Using the imprint placed in his soul space, Neil released violent bursts of energies that ruptured his soul and made cracks form in the soul space itself.
COUGH
The assassin fell in a messy way and rolled several times, coughing out blood, his eyes turned bloodshot.
As he looked back, the monster charged at him, it was such a horror scene, his heart was ready to jump out of his chest.
"Ahhhhhhhhhh" screaming in terror, the assassin threw several things out of his bag.
He was so shaken, that he didn’t even see what he was throwing, he even threw some food.
BOOOM
There was an explosion as the bomb headed towards Neil but his agility was high enough to easily dodge it.
Not to mention, the armour made from the darkness protected him perfectly.
Growling like a true beast, Neil plunged the infernal blade into the belly of the assassin who had completely lost the ability to defend or attack back.
The healing ability of people at such a high level is amazing, just because of that it is very difficult to kill them.
At 5th Origin, even a severed head doesn’t mean death.
So even if Neil tore his torso and flooded his body with the deadly energy of the infernal blade, the assassin wasn’t dead yet.
But he was in a very very bad condition, rapidly losing all his chances to live.
Neil didn’t want to stretch it, as Freya won’t be able to conceal his presence for long.
Without pulling back the infernal blade that had pierced into the chest of the assassin, Neil began to drag it up, aiming to cut his chest and head in two.
But the assassin finally found what he was looking for in his bag, he gave it a tight squeeze as the cubical object shattered.
WHOOSH
BOOM
Instantly something flew into the sky and exploded, then a big symbol showing the face of a wild dog appeared in the sky.
Was he trying to call for backup?
Frowning, Neil wasted no time as he split the assassin’s head open, then a burst of lava swallowed him.
[You have killed a 4th Origin Golden Class human.]
A message flashed before him, but Neil had no time to waste here, as he quickly entered the disappearing state.
There might be enemies coming soon, he turned and sprinted towards his domain.
"Oh no, that guy was an assassin from the Wild Dogs, it is a famous group which never fails its contract.
Looks like someone gave a contract on you, master." Nemo spoke, her voice slightly panicked.
’Well how surprised I am, sigh I know the problems are only going to grow in the future-’ Neil thought, soon more and more people would be coming to kill him.
So maybe shifting out of the human territory was the best choice? But his thoughts were interrupted by Nemo.
"No master, it isn’t just humans who were enemies to your father, but many are in the other races too."
’Damn that bastard, just you wait, I am so going to shove a bamboo up your ass.’ Neil cursed.
Maybe he should just change his identity altogether, or just go with Cynthia but he felt even the entire snake race would be facing enemies if he did go there.
Among the enemies there were many in the 5th Origin, so they wouldn’t be as afraid of her.
Then he remembered Randy, should he really try going to that guy and asking for his help?
Sigh...
Again his thoughts were interrupted: "Master, the Mad Dogs are a wild bunch, if an assassin fails to kill you then he will keep trying until he succeeds or will pass the mission to another, better one.
But if an assassin dies on the mission, then your importance to kill will rise and it will be that assassination group’s personal matter to get rid of you."
’Fuck, so I can expect a lot more assassins now.’ He frowned, these guys don’t have any rules, just to kill him they might even target his domain.
This was too problematic, and there doesn’t seem to be any solution.
Things would have been better if his analyzer wasn’t acting up now, but even that had gone bad now.
