EX rank supporting role’s replay in a prestigious school
Chapter 1391: The threshold of winter (2)
“Hey.”
Before arriving at the conference room, I ran into Yu Sanghoon.
Although I had seen him during the festival, it felt like a long time since we last met properly.
That day, Jang Namwook and Dosihu had come to the tea house, but it was so busy that I only managed a brief thank-you before leaving.
Besides, Yu Sanghoon had been quite busy throughout the festival himself.
‘Yu Sanghoon is also the vice class president of Class 2-4, and a prospective pro player of PlayerZ.’
His class held a supernatural ability experience and demonstration event—something commonly planned at Player Meister High.
They decorated it modestly and either showed the abilities they usually used or performed them in front of visitors. For those skilled enough, just demonstrating their skills was enough, so the preparation was very simple and running it was easy.
It wasn’t a booth that required as much effort as ours, but it wasn’t completely neglected like the seniors from Class 0, either, so there was still work to do.
Moreover, the PlayerZ club, EunkwangZ, insisted they needed the strength of shield soldiers to attract new players, and Yu Sanghoon fell for it.
So, he spent most of the festival on the EunkwangZ side.
Although In Seon-oh was a civilian—not contracted to a pro team like PlayerZ—many people gathered there as well.
However, the booth where Yu Sanghoon was had even more visitors.
“Why didn’t you come?”
“Where?”
“To the booth I was at.”
Yu Sanghoon grumbled.
Though I hadn’t stayed long, I did visit Yu Sanghoon’s booth and also checked out EunkwangZ’s.
Even seeing how insanely busy the tea house was, I wondered why he acted like that.
When my reaction wasn’t satisfying, Yu Sanghoon openly expressed his dissatisfaction.
“You didn’t play games but said you played chess.”
I wondered why he was so upset, and it turned out it was because of chess.
Yong Jegun had openly prepared, so avoiding him was impossible.
When I showed him a photo released by Stalemate that included Yong Jegun and me together, he was a little more convinced.
“Next time, play while you come.”
“Even at the Christmas Eve event?”
“Yeah.”
Charity events usually have more participants as clubs or private groups than as entire classes.
Yu Sanghoon seemed determined to stick only to PlayerZ’s side.
But I wasn’t sure if I could attend the Christmas Eve charity event.
I avoided answering directly, brushing it off lightly, and Yu Sanghoon frowned but didn’t press further.
“Busy again? Then buy me a meal next time.”
“...Fine. I’ll treat you.”
Since Yu Sanghoon kept showing his disappointment, I decided to listen to his PlayerZ stories while we moved.
He said they were planning a major update targeting the winter break rush.
The teaser video was packed with fan-pleasing content: new story releases and world expansions, new characters and jobs, and events where players could earn in-game currency.
Honestly, if Player Meister High’s game had been managed at that level, fans might have stuck around longer, but compared to this “God Game,” my feelings were complicated.
Towards the end, though, with more characters dying every story update, I sometimes thought it might be better not to play at all.
Anyway, while listening to Yu Sanghoon’s boasting about the game, we arrived at the conference room, where the atmosphere was already unsettled from outside.
“Who used supernatural powers in the conference room?”
“Probably seniors from Class 0.”
“Who knows.” 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢
When I named Geum Chansol and Wang Chansol as suspects, Yu Sanghoon half-listened.
I couldn’t tell whether he wasn’t interested or disagreed.
Usually, Class 0 causes trouble, but since I’m in the second-year Class 0, and first-year Class 0 consists of Eun Seoho and Eunho—well-behaved juniors—the culprit was obvious.
“Senior classmates, just admit defeat. Eunha and I are one step ahead.”
“No way! It was a tie.”
“Exactly! Considering you barged in without warning, we actually won!”
But my prediction was wrong.
Not only the seniors, but even the well-behaved juniors from Class 0 had apparently started using their abilities.
The situation was as follows.
Geum Chansol and Wang Chansol had gone crazy at the student representative meeting.
They aimed to make flashy appearances using every trick: hiding and suddenly appearing, setting up strange traps, and all sorts of tactics.
Usually, their antics got ruined by unintended interference from Woo Ki-hwan or enforcement of student council rules by Do Won-woo or Yeom Jun-yeol.
‘They pulled every prank they could for their last meeting.’
Geum Chansol and Wang Chansol apparently prepared all the mischiefs they’d done since first year for this event.
Of course, the student council anticipated this madness.
Third years, including retiring Yeom Jun-yeol and Gwak Kyung-gu, advised, and the first and second years responded under the leadership of next student council president Andain.
“If you’d told us, we would have helped.”
“Ha ha, I appreciate the thought, but this is a student council matter to handle.”
“If Uisin joins the student council, we can prepare together.”
While talking with Kim Yuri, Andain, surrounded by a faint aura of supernatural power, smiled and spoke.
Suddenly, the surroundings fell silent.
Though it might have been a casual remark, it could have sounded like an invitation to join the student council.
I had consistently declined invitations before, so I dodged the topic.
Then, Joo Suhyuk from the disciplinary committee looked relieved toward us; when our eyes met, he nodded gently with a soft smile, and I returned the greeting.
Suddenly, Moon Saeron, who was filming inside the conference room, let out a short scream, “Ahh!” and leaned against the wall.
Feeling like something forbidden had been done, I quickly changed the subject.
“...Did the juniors get involved in this prank too?”
“Yeah.”
Andain nodded and explained the situation.
They dealt with various traps and pranks set by Geum Chansol and Wang Chansol, but a variable arose.
The first-year Class 0 got involved.
Though mature for their age, Eun Seoho had become more mischievous recently, but it was surprising that Eunho joined in as well.
“I learned the technique to kill my presence for corpse play, but it’s harder than I thought.”
“It’s okay. Eunha covered for us with the item she made!”
For some reason, they held a hide-and-seek contest in the conference room.
Of course, Andain found them all simultaneously, so there was no clear winner, but each thought they had won.
In the end, the only winner was probably Andain, who found them all.
“The next student council president’s pretty good.”
“Yeah, I can confidently entrust Eungwang High and Teacher Jegal Jaegul to him.”
“Wang Chan, why do you assign teachers ◆ Nоvеlіgһt ◆ (Only on Nоvеlіgһt) as you please? Do you want to die?”
I didn’t know what they wanted to confirm, but if they disrupted the meeting, I intended to cooperate with Andain to deal with the seniors.
Still, when the time came, everyone took their seats.
As the opening time approached, Andain stood straight on the podium.
Just by looking at him, no one would want to cause trouble.
Andain spoke exactly on time.
“Since the time has come, I hereby declare this meeting open. The 4th quarter student representative meeting will now begin.”
Andain struck the gavel at the chairman’s seat, starting the final student representative meeting of the year.
Though his tone sounded cold and stern at first, the more I listened, the more it felt like a cold breeze penetrating the overheated room, clearing minds and spirits.
The following reports had the same effect.
‘Perfect.’
Joo Suhyuk spoke flawlessly, as if he had been born a disciplinary chief.
Park Seunghyun showed clear signs of having practiced many times, and the Zikhoe’s level noticeably rose with the new chairman.
Kim Hyungoo also smoothly finished the general club report.
After the regular reports, the main agenda items were discussed.
“The first agenda is the selection of the next promotional ambassador for Eungwang High.”
At the mention of the next ambassador, all eyes turned toward me.
Currently, I’m one of Eungwang High’s promotional ambassadors.
Last year’s ambassadors were Yeom Jun-yeol and Yeon Garam.
This year, the number of ambassadors increased from the previous year to include me, Dokgo Miro, Andain, Joo Suhyuk, and Jegal Jaegul.
Among the students sitting in the class officer seats, I was the only promotional ambassador.
‘With everyone’s gaze on me, it really hits that I’m sitting here alone.’
The seat next to me was empty, and in the second-year Class 1 seat sat one person drafted in place of Joo Suhyuk and Andain.
Other selected officers’ seats were vacant.
Instead, they sat in the autonomous organization officer seats instead of their class officer seats.
‘Who will it be this year? Will they pick four students and a teacher again?’
By tradition, the promotional ambassador is chosen from the second years, so it will be a junior.
All of the juniors were well-behaved and good kids, so whoever was picked, it would be a good thing.
Various names came up around, but the name “Cheon Eunha” never failed to appear.
‘Eunho has been active externally. It wouldn’t be strange if he’s chosen as promotional ambassador.’
Because of Cheon Dongha’s strong legacy and impression, Eunho was treated as “not resembling Cheon Dongha but a smart and handsome younger brother.”
However, Cheon Dongha also lost out to Yeom Jun-yeol and couldn’t become a student promotional ambassador.
Maybe if four had been chosen back then, it would have been different, but regardless, Eunho would be gaining a title that Cheon Dongha never had.
While many student names were mentioned, the teacher candidate was narrowed down to almost one.
Kim Sinrok.
‘The agenda will officially proceed with a candidate recruitment process once passed, but it’s almost certain.’
First of all, student council president Andain strongly supports him.
Of course, the process will be fair, but Andain’s charisma would definitely move the student council and other students.
Also, the influence of the butler café was considerable...
There was only one adult male in that butler café: Kim Sinrok.
He attracted attention and became a hot topic in a different way from Butler Andain and Butler Joo Suhyuk.
Moreover, a video of Butler Kim Sinrok serving Jeokho and Ungnyeo was released by someone, showing the three’s great atmosphere and expressions, which gained massive views.
Because of this, Kim Sinrok’s popularity, previously decent but limited due to no player activity, rose significantly.
Yong Jegun tirelessly promoted the video and sent links on devices, spreading images of Kim Sinrok in butler attire outside school.
Since Yong Jegun did that, most of the Jin clan must have seen it.
If Kim Sinrok knew, he would be so embarrassed that he’d probably burn up on the spot, and the meeting continued.
Because the festival was brought forward, many schedules were very different from last year, so most of the discussion was about managing and adjusting the aftermath.
‘Player Meister High never recovered well from the disaster that messed up schedules.’
The Zikhoe was gone, and trash planted by Choi Pyeondeuk occupied the key positions, so it was inevitable.
Yeom Jun-yeol, Cheon Dongha, and Ma Jinseung—who had replay experience and could understand my feelings to some extent—couldn’t take their eyes off the podium.
Although they weren’t alive anymore, they had seen the messed-up student representative meeting and the promising next representatives in Player Meister High.
Other third years also watched proudly over their juniors.
“That concludes the 4th quarter student representative meeting.”
With Andain’s declaration, the last student representative meeting attended by third years ended.
As Majinseung sobbed with encouragement, Cheon Dongha quietly covered his mouth and pulled him away, and seeing that, I barely held back my own emotions and applauded.
