Extraordinary Voyage
Chapter 1040 - 911: The Box on the Tree and the Cry for Help
Quite miraculously, before Anita spoke up, no one had noticed that there was actually a rather sizable island at the one o’clock direction.
And when everyone looked over upon hearing her words.
The island seemed to leap out of the sea and appear in their view. As all ten of them fixed their gaze upon it, it rapidly became clearer.
"Huh?"
The two Great Wizards of the "Clock Tower School" exchanged a glance, having sensitively detected the anomaly present within.
Milan and Kongyu didn’t hesitate, and as the Sea Soul turned its bow toward it, they very cohesively began to verify the phenomenon.
They both focused intently on a certain direction on the sea, quickly discovering two more islands in the distance, smaller in size.
Yet, before they concentrated on observing, there had been nothing there.
"Listen to me, everyone..."
Milan excitedly explained their discovery to the group.
After a brief exchange, the adventure team quickly realized that the entire world "Behind the Door" seemed to be in a state of uncertainty, existing yet not existing, both to the left and the right.
Yet, whenever these outsiders cast their gaze, the "War Fog" would gradually dissipate, and the state of things would finally become defined.
As if transitioning from a state of uncertainty to certainty.
Aiven also stroked his chin thoughtfully, wondering if there was any connection between this state of uncertainty and the convergence of the timeline they had just experienced.
He then narrated his recent experience, which had seemed endlessly long but had only lasted an instant.
"I just experienced a similar event in the spiritual world, a collapse of multiple possibilities..."
Of course, if he were to speak the truth, he feared it would lead to social death on the spot.
Driven by survival instincts, Aiven slightly embellished his past experiences. Even though everyone was closely watching him, they didn’t detect any anomaly on his face.
"Oh? Something this fun can actually happen?"
Among everyone, only the two Titled Knights, Liweina and Anita, found it immensely entertaining, while the other Magical Transcendents seemed slightly tense.
If there was any difference between Aiven and everyone else, the first thought would undoubtedly be that he was the sole Demigod here.
Combining the mystical knowledge of Milan and Kongyu, the two Great Wizards from the Clock Tower School, the group reached the most likely conclusion:
The principle of a Demigod entering the "Shelter State" might be to converge all possibilities of themselves in this world, also existing in a state of uncertainty, both to the left and the right.
Even an "Era Catastrophe" couldn’t deal with the existence of such a state.
Based on Aiven’s experience.
Only Demigods could, with the aid of some power "Behind the Door," anchor themselves to complete the convergence of the timeline, something even Divine Creatures couldn’t achieve due to lacking the necessary Personality and transcendent life essence.
This might be the primary reason Demigods could receive shelter.
Yet, new questions arise.
The already established history that a Demigod holds has converged at this moment, so who will reveal their future?
It’s impossible to determine a Demigod’s life or death just with a casual glance, right?
Though humans might not have ventured here before, the "Sea God’s Sons" and numerous Sea Monsters lurking in and out of the Storm Belt were innumerable.
These doubts were temporarily set aside.
Swoosh—!
In that brief moment, the Sea Soul had already approached the first island that appeared before them, coming to a halt near the cliff on the side of the island closest to the Storm Belt.
It wasn’t until they came right up to this island that Aiven and his group finally saw its true form.
Standing tall on the cliff was a robust giant tree more than a hundred meters high.
With dark green needles, bark mottled like scales, the giant tree bent mid-way like a welcoming pine, its canopy reaching toward the sea.
And hanging from the branches were numerous... Purple Lacquer Inlaid with Mother-of-Pearl Fish and Algae Pattern Golden Treasure Boxes!
Their eyes brightened at the sight.
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!...
They all soared into the air, transforming into ten streaks of light darting to the tree’s vicinity.
Standing there, they could clearly see that this tree had actually grown from a giant skull, the size of a small mountain, fused with the terrain.
At that moment, streams of flowing light were surging from the immense jade-like skull into the roots of the "welcoming pine," then converging into the branches, forming fruits that encased the Golden Treasure Boxes.
"Teacher, these Golden Treasure Boxes don’t seem to be ripe yet. I feel they don’t exist in the material world at this moment."
Angie tilted her head, scrutinizing for a while, then voiced her judgment.
"We’ll know by taking a look."
Faced with such an oddity, Aiven didn’t act rashly. He took a step forward alone and activated the Authority: Heaven and Earth Unity and the Magic-like Technique: Eye of Magical Insight.
As an Upper-Rank Wizard, this magic-like technique could already perceive the essence through appearances.
Insight into subtle changes, weakness detection, password decryption, capturing all forms of information (biological pheromones, infrasound waves, warning colors...), discovering the connections and developmental trends, remote vision, detection, and so on.
After ascending to [Truth Embodiment: Crown of Miracles], the effectiveness has been exponentially enhanced.
"Well, just now we were talking about what those [Demigods] would do in the future, and this skull turns out to be a [Demigod] itself?
Huh? The time determination of the [Molecular Evolution Clock] is 2.5 million years ago, even earlier than the First Era, the Primordial Civilization...."
As the data stream in Aiven’s eyes constantly flashed by, part of the information about the combination of the skull and the giant tree was continually deciphered.
This demigod’s title could roughly be called — [God of Imagination].
In life, He possessed the ability to turn fantasies into reality.
Even after two million years of eternal silence, it’s still possible to embody the knowledge He mastered into physical form, benefiting future descendants.
However, these came from a [Golden Treasure Box] born of a god’s fantasy, taking fifty thousand years to bloom, fifty thousand years to fruit, fifty thousand years to mature, a total of one hundred and fifty thousand years just to form one.
A ripe fruit falls into the ocean and drifts with the sea current out of "Behind the Door" world.
Obviously.
Drifting through at least two thousand kilometers of the Storm Belt, having a "Lucky One" drift out is a very improbable event, and then being luckily picked up by humans.
Maybe from the Gendaya Civilization of the First Era to the end of the Fifth Era, the number of [Golden Treasure Boxes] picked up by humans is only single digits.
Listening to Aiven’s interpretation, the group couldn’t help but focus their eyes on a girl by Olivia’s side.
Although Olivia created many [Treasure Maidens] to ascend to the "Crowned Wizard," only three have been able to stay by her side consistently.
The Three-no Girl [Baihe], who can now straightforwardly defeat a typical "Titled Knight," and [Gem River], in Octopus Girl form, are familiar faces.
The last one is a cute girl with a purple snail-shell hair clip.
Olivia crouched down and patted her head:
"Purple Snail, do you remember anything here?"
"Hmm, seems like I remember a little."
The girl bit her lower lip and walked straight to the "Welcoming Pine," placing a small hand against the trunk.
Suddenly, a burst of Flowing Light surged from the giant skull into her body, mirroring the state of those hanging [Golden Treasure Boxes] on the tree.
No one was surprised, as the Treasure Maiden named "Purple Snail" is, in fact, the very first [Purple Lacquer Inlaid with Mother-of-Pearl Fish and Algae Pattern Golden Treasure Box], the original origin of human civilization!
During the first shock, a Spirit Realm Lord called [Civilization Omniscient] promised to find a guide early:
As long as you accept His gift, you’ll gain the freedom to roam the human collective unconscious sea, excavate all predecessors’ knowledge, and become the foremost Extraordinary and great scientist in the world.
The abilities Purple Snail possesses aren’t much less in comparison.
[Civilization Sages]
Effect: Any technology made in the Material World using the techniques in the box as the ultimate source can be easily cracked, replicated, and interpreted by her.
Though lacking combat power, it was a strong driver of the "Electrical Era."
The only regrettable point is.
The [Golden Treasure Box] Aiven acquired earlier held obsolete nautical knowledge, utterly impacting the Material World’s developmental process, thus unqualified for Olivia’s "Enlightenment."
At this moment, the Flowing Light toward "Purple Snail" slowly ceased, the girl also let go of her hand, her face scrunching into a bun with slight frustration.
"Hmm, no more."
Obviously, the skull follows certain rules, not allowing an entity that’s become someone else’s precious treasure to inappropriately benefit from itself again.
However.
Though there were no mature [Golden Treasure Boxes] for them to retrieve, and the information decipherable from the skull was very limited, "Purple Snail" was not entirely without gain.
Finally, they received concrete intelligence.
Before the Gendaya Civilization in the First Era, there existed a "Primordial Civilization" measured by "wisdom level," where almost everyone could rival Divine Creatures.
A few outstanding individuals even possessed [Mythical Form] innately.
To cite an example from Aiven’s previous life, Einstein’s IQ was 165, already among the smartest in human history.
IQ 140 or above is termed genius; IQ 120-140, excellent; IQ 100-120, very good;
90-100 is normal; 80-90 is subnormal; 70-80 is borderline normal; 60-70 is mild intellectual deficiency; 50-60 is foolish, 20-25 is feeble-minded; below 25 is idiotic.
But even the most dull-witted in this "Primordial Civilization" would have an IQ above 200!
In comparison, current humans hardly differ from monkeys.
Yet all available intelligence stops at this point, to understand more they must continue exploring the "Endless Ocean."
Just as they were about to start from the island underfoot.
"Help! Help! Please come help me!"
A slightly hoarse, urgent female voice (Spiritual Text) suddenly came from deep within the island behind them.
