Farming in a Parallel World and Becoming a God
Chapter 2373 - 1057: My Lord, the Times Have Changed (Part 2)
Because the long life cycle is there, humans have a gestation period of ten months, while theirs is ten years. Their maturity period is also ten times that of humans, reaching over one hundred and fifty years.
This situation is not unique to Giants; many Everlasting Kinds possess this trait, only differing in duration.
Humans are considered Short-lived Species compared to Giants or Elves, but compared to cats and dogs, they are unmistakably Everlasting Kinds.
And cats and dogs, in comparison to those bugs and flies, naturally have a sufficiently long lifespan, thereby possessing a longer life cycle.
This situation has both advantages and disadvantages.
The longer the life cycle, the greater the upper limit of development; during their growth, they can acquire immense strength, as represented by Giants and Giant Dragons.
As long as Giants reach adulthood, they possess at least Transcendent Power. Giants like Cloud Giants or Storm Giants, situated at the pinnacle of ranking, have at least Quasi-Legendary strength, and with a bit of effort, entering the Legendary is quite easy after maturity.
The drawback is their low reproduction rate; their gestation period is long enough for humans to nurture a generation.
However, the short life cycle limits humans’ natural growth ceiling, which is far less than one-tenths of a Giant’s; both Transcendent and Legendary species are defined by human standards.
In a state of wilderness, Giant Dragons and Giants, able to acquire powerful abilities through long reproductive cycles, have a natural advantage, occupying the species pinnacle and holding the dominance.
But when wisdom civilizations like those led by humans rise, through acquired training or Magic, allowing some humans to possess strength comparable to Giants or Giant Dragons, that is the moment these Everlasting Kinds step down from their pedestal.
Because quantity and acquired cultivation can compensate for innate shortcomings, unleashing terrifying power.
This situation is not limited to Giants alone; if one day those rats or cockroaches similarly acquire intelligence and cultivation abilities comparable to humans, they’re likely to challenge humanity’s current dominant position.
This is not alarmist but a reality.
In the Multiverse, humans only dominate a minority of Material Planes; most are under the rule of various peculiar wisdom creatures or monsters.
When traveling between planes, encountering a realm entirely ruled by Ratmen should not be surprising at all.
After Gaven’s proposal, the Great Chieftain of the Undead Stone Giants fell into prolonged silence.
Because the suggestion was indeed very enticing.
Time has proven that the current development model of the Council of Death Chiefs is too slow.
In a thousand years, their population has increased by less than double, combining both living and undead, totaling barely a thousand.
Relying solely on these Giants, restoring the glory of Giants is simply unrealistic.
To grow rapidly, a base is needed, requiring enough foreign Giants to join their ranks. Merely staying in the Dark Domain won’t suffice; they must step onto the surface, raise the Giant’s banner to attract other Giants.
This silence didn’t last long; the Great Chieftain of the Undead Stone Giants spoke again: "All War Souls belong to me, this point will not change, but I can allow you to exchange Soul Essence for your soldiers’ souls in equivalent amounts.
Upon victory in the war, the territory of the Beast Demon Tribe will belong to me."
"Agreed." Gaven agreed readily.
His concern wasn’t about the opponent demanding territory, but rather the fear of them staying curled in the Dark Domain without venturing out.
As long as they are willing to venture out, once on the surface, he possesses various means to incorporate them into his dominion.
Because from the start, he hadn’t planned to establish a mundane empire, but rather a vast multi-racial destiny collective; when their economic destinies are closely interlinked, they cannot avoid pooling strength and efforts.
Consensus was reached on core interests, simplifying the remaining matters greatly.
Gaven suggested: "Although the Great Chieftain prefers not to come to the Bottomless Abyss, we can exchange more experience in the domain of Undead Power.
Allow me to offer some introductory remarks, sharing my recent understanding of this power.
Compared to other Divine Nature Forces, this Divine Nature Force should be the easiest to develop and expand, only requiring mastery of a vast number of Undead Spirits.
Yet the limitations of this power are also significant.
My method is only applicable in the Bottomless Abyss, as such large-scale deployment of Undead Power in the Material Plane.
Even if the current Controller of the Office of the Dead is incompetent, there will be consequences.
The Undead Divine Office is merely a part of the Office of the Dead, no Death God will allow such power to grow unchecked.
In harvesting souls, the Great Chieftain must master the degree and method carefully, avoiding minor losses turning into major setbacks."
Gaven was not purely using divine authority to suppress, but rather stating a fact.
Though the Bottomless Abyss has its many downsides, it also possesses unique advantages.
That is here, outside the governance of the Gods, as long as one has the ability to defeat those Demon Gods; they can freely harvest and command the souls there.
The victor enjoys everything exclusively.
Originally, this is the supreme Law of the Bottomless Abyss.
Doing the same in the Material Plane, Gaven dared to act, but countless believers of Benevolent Gods would hold aloft the banner of Justice to crusade against him, even summoning God Incarnations would not be rare.
