Fated love: the unwanted bride
Chapter 2249: Beating Someone to Death
"No, I’ll stay here with you. This is the only thing I can do." Jasmine Yale held Aunt Camden’s hand, refusing to let go.
"No, it’s already late, and the operating room is cold and quiet. You should go back early, listen to me." Aunt Camden said, "Don’t worry about Sweet Kitty, she’s already been fed. I’ll go back to the bakery tomorrow."
"Aunt Camden..." Jasmine Yale’s tears flowed like a spring, her heart aching.
"Don’t cry, don’t cry. If Yukon sees this, he’ll think I’m bullying you." Aunt Camden said with a chuckle, "Shall I walk you downstairs?"
"Let me stay with Yukon for a while, let me spend some time with him. He’s taken such good care of me these past two years, I really don’t know what to do."
Aunt Camden was at a loss.
Sighing deeply, she held Jasmine Yale’s hand, "Let’s make a deal, sit for a while and then go, okay?"
Jasmine Yale nodded repeatedly.
The hallway was empty, nobody came by.
The door to the operating room was tightly shut.
Jasmine Yale and Aunt Camden sat side by side on the bench outside, their eyes filled with a dull and painful glow.
Perhaps, it’s better this way.
Later on, their family will be in Old York, and everything will be alright.
Aunt Camden was never very talkative, and sitting with Jasmine Yale, she hardly spoke, her vacant gaze always fixated on the operating room door.
The doctor said the man hit hard and brutally, as if to ensure he wouldn’t survive.
Aunt Camden worried that Yukon Carbon might develop some bad diseases because of this.
He now has a decent job, and his career is flourishing. It’s crucial that everything remains alright.
But right now, she couldn’t do anything, only watch silently and pray.
All around, it was extremely quiet.
Occasionally, a phone call would come in, breaking the silence.
Aunt Camden would go to answer the phone, while Jasmine Yale sat there confused.
Regret and apology are the most useless things, she knew, only leaving and returning Yukon Carbon to a peaceful life, never to disturb him again.
But just thinking that from then on, the mountains and rivers would part ways, never to meet again, Jasmine Yale’s heart ached with pain.
The kindness of the Carbon Family to her was something she couldn’t repay.
Yet, she was too ashamed to beg them to stay, she could only give them a peaceful life, as if they’d never met.
She understood Aunt Camden’s feelings, she also knew that after Yukon Carbon left her, he would live better, would rejoin life.
As long as he’s doing well, nothing else mattered.
Jasmine Yale sat quietly, aimlessly.
For a long time, the operating room door didn’t open.
Jasmine Yale’s heart was suspended, nobody knew what was happening inside. 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚
"Jasmine, you should go home, it’s late. Your aunt will worry." Aunt Camden advised, "It’s fine with me here, Yukon’s father will also come over, don’t worry, the surgery won’t have issues."
"Aunt Camden, I’ve really wronged Yukon. If he wakes up, please tell him for me that I’ll handle my matters, and I hope he’ll be safe and sound, and not worry about me anymore. Also, ’thank you’, though it doesn’t fully convey my gratitude to you, I must say, thank you for taking care of me these past two years."
Jasmine Yale stood up, intending to bow, but her movements were inconvenient.
She would forever remember this kindness.
When she first came to Cakago, she was unfamiliar with the place and had little money. It was Aunt Camden who took care of her, allowing her to complete her studies in Cakago peacefully.
She owed the Carbon Family, and could never repay them.
Nor did she have the chance to repay...
