Jasmine Yale rubbed her little head: "Sister’s not playing, sister’s going to sit and rest for a while."

The little girl snuggled up to Jasmine Yale, instinctively leaned her little head against Jasmine Yale’s belly, tilted her ear, and listened intently to the sounds from her stomach.

"Why isn’t the little baby moving?"

Jasmine Yale smiled: "The little baby is asleep."

"Do little babies sleep during the day too?" The little girl rested her head on Jasmine Yale’s leg and asked seriously.

"Yes, because he’s a little child, so when he’s sleepy, he sleeps."

Sylvan Cheney, for some inexplicable reason, reached out and grabbed the little girl by her collar and tossed her aside: "Stay away!"

The little girl glared with wide eyes, angrily looking at Sylvan Cheney: "Uncle, you’re so mean! Uncle is a bad person!"

Jasmine Yale really didn’t know if Sylvan Cheney was out of his mind.

She handed the kite to the little girl: "Here, take it and play, fly the kite with your brother. But, you must be careful."

The little girl timidly walked over, keeping her distance from Sylvan Cheney out of fear.

He really was a very fierce Strange Uncle.

She took the kite from Jasmine Yale’s hand, her mood lifted again: "Sister, the kite is so pretty, I’m going to fly it, and I’ll fly it higher than my brother."

"Go on, have fun, and play with your brother. You are siblings, so love each other and don’t fight, okay?"

"Sister, who is this Strange Uncle to you? Is he the little baby’s dad?" The little girl spoke without any filter, bold enough to ask whatever came to mind.

Jasmine Yale was taken aback for a moment, then smiled gently: "Sister doesn’t know who he is either."

"Oh, sister, you should sit tight, my mom says strangers can deceive you, so never trust strangers." The little girl said earnestly, "My mom also says the more beautiful you are, the more likely you are to get attention, so sister, you need to be careful."

Jasmine Yale was amused by her.

Sylvan Cheney’s face darkened significantly.

The little girl glanced at Sylvan Cheney fearfully, convinced he was a bad person.

"Sister, I still have a candy in my pocket for you." The little girl took out a fruit candy and placed it in Jasmine Yale’s palm.

Jasmine Yale accepted it.

The little girl, bouncing and happy, went off with Jasmine Yale’s butterfly kite to the lawn to find her brother.

The two children were almost the same age, like twins.

Jasmine Yale squinted her eyes to look at them, her mood much improved.

She ate the fruit candy, and it tasted sweet.

"Jasmine Yale, you’re incredible, acting like you don’t know who I am?" Sylvan Cheney exploded, staring intently at Jasmine Yale.

"Words to coax children, and you believed it." Jasmine Yale replied lightly.

"You even lie to kids, you’re such a deceitful liar."

Jasmine Yale was speechless.

She ignored Sylvan Cheney and just sat quietly, watching the children bounce around happily.

The sky was blue, the clouds were pure, and all the surrounding flowers and plants were beautiful and light.

She always liked tranquility and peace, and this was her favorite kind of moment.

For some reason, Sylvan Cheney didn’t leave.

He stood there, still blocking Jasmine Yale’s sunlight, but he didn’t leave, not moving an inch, as if rooted to the spot.

Even though he didn’t speak, Jasmine Yale could feel the two gazes on her, sharp as blades, like silver needles.

She just sat there.

As long as she sat, Sylvan Cheney stood there for equally long, unmoving.

Sunlight cast over his head, bathing his entire facial profile in a layer of golden glow.
