Fated to My Billionaire Husband
Chapter 2493: They’re Going to Sell Her
She was a girl, and indeed a very adorable and cute one.
Upon seeing her, Ansel’s eyes lit up.
His first reaction was, could this sunflower be taken home as a pet?
"S-sorry..." the sunflower made a faint sound.
She seemed not used to speaking, her voice awkward.
Isn’t she just like his Junqi at home, a cute and clumsy treasure?
Ansel’s affection for her soared instantly.
"What’s your name?" Ansel displayed his cute, innocent mischievous smile.
The sunflower shook her head, glanced behind her, and suddenly her eyes were filled with fear.
"You little brat, stop—"
A woman and a man came chasing from behind.
The sunflower took off running with her short legs.
"You little brat, stop or I’ll beat you!" the woman’s shrill voice was harsh to the ears.
Ansel’s gaze turned cold, his little eyebrows furrowing slightly.
"Stop them for me!"
Leaving these words, he went after the sunflower.
The bodyguards, having no choice, went to intercept the two people.
The sunflower stumbled, about to fall—
Ansel caught her petal just in time.
"Come with me!" he pulled her hand and ran towards the crowd.
The bodyguards stopped those two people, and in just a moment, Ansel and the girl were out of sight.
Once they reached a more secluded area, Ansel finally stopped.
Throughout their run, they kept up the pace, and Ansel noticed that the sunflower wasn’t red-faced or out of breath, showing no signs of fatigue at all.
The sunflower gave him a glance and was about to take off her costume.
"Let me help you." Ansel extended his hand to help her remove the heavy sunflower outfit.
The girl’s original appearance was revealed.
She had short hair that reached her shoulders, bangs neatly trimmed on her forehead. She was petite, probably about the same age as him.
But he was tall, taller than his peers by half a head.
So he was directly about a head taller than the little girl.
"Th-thank you..." the little girl spoke with difficulty.
Ansel innocently asked with a smile, "What’s your name? Where do you live?"
The little girl shook her head and said nothing.
Ansel tried another question, "Who were those two people earlier? Are they your parents? Or your relatives?"
They weren’t her parents; they were her uncle and aunt.
But they wanted to sell her, she had overheard.
So she took the opportunity to run away while they were out playing today.
Unfortunately, she hadn’t run far before they spotted her.
Then she sneaked into a changing room where she saw many children wearing costumes.
She blended in and put one on.
Then she mixed in with the performing kids, walking right past her uncle and aunt.
Sadly, her luck was just too bad.
She was discovered by a teacher who pulled her aside to ask who she was.
Consequently, her uncle and aunt also found her.
She bumped into the teacher, desperately ran away, and then met this little brother...
The little girl’s big eyes sparkled, and she shook her head.
She had no such relatives...
Ansel breathed a sigh of relief. If her parents were like that, her life would probably be hard.
"Then where are your mom and dad?"
She shook her head.
"You don’t know where they are? Have you gotten separated from them?"
She nodded.
Ansel extended his hand, "Come with me, I can help you find your parents."
The little girl suddenly regarded him with caution.
