Fated to my mate's step-brothers
Chapter 31
Brielle
Walking into the club with the other maids, I swallowed as I looked around. The club was crowded and I felt out of place.
It was scary at the same thing and I shivered at the thought of a drunk man coming over to harass me.
Rose and two girls headed towards the left, obviously they knew their way around and with a pounding heart, I headed towards the bar.
"Can I have any juice..."
The bartender glanced at me for a moment before bursting into laughter. "Honey it’s a club, not some place for pregnant women." He taunted and my cheeks burned with embarrassment as I lowered my head.
"I know you might be new to this so I’ll fix you something extremely light. I don’t usually do this but for your sake, I’ll bend a few rules." He muttered and I grinned softly.
I turned to the crowd, letting my eyes dart around while hoping Nikolai would walk in.
Several thoughts filled my head. "What if he was working late? What if he decided to visit a different club today? What if he’s too busy?" The questions only increased my fears and immediately the drink was placed in front of me, I drank it.
"Slow down now, you don’t want to wake up with a migraine." He pointed out and I smiled softly.
The liquid burned my throat, it was moments after swallowing it that I felt the aftermath of it and for a moment, my eyes spinned.
This was my second time having alcohol, the first with Dylan where I had puked it, hating how bitter it tasted in my lips.
This was both sweet and harsh... "just like the alphas..." A little voice whispered and I scoffed.
The alphas were nowhere close to being sweet, they were cruel, dangerous and insane.
My eyes glistened when Nikolai walked into the club, covered in sweat. He was dressed in a pair of jeans with a cotton shirt that clung to his body, outlining his muscles and amazing features.
Every head in the room turned, both male and female. He was that handsome... Many ladies launched at him and stylishly, he managed to dodge all of them, heading upstairs to what seemed like a private lounge.
I exhaled deeply, wishing I was that shirt or Jean, that was the only way I’d ever have a chance of touching his well sculpted body.
I heaved again. "Ohh... Seems like you have a little crush on the beta." The bartender muttered with a grin and I shook my head negatively.
"Oh no... I was just looking around." I lied, wishing he’d buy it and talk about something else.
I wanted to leave this place, what if someone seems me staring at the Beta like that? Wouldn’t that spell out trouble for me?
"Oh please, I’ve seen so many looks but that... Those dreamy sad eyes are that of an unrequited love... You have a crush on the beta, just like every damn lady in this club." He pointed out and I shook my head.
I smiled faintly. "No... I dare not have such thoughts, I was merely glancing around. I’ll leave now." I muttered and he burst into laughter.
"Coward. All the ladies here are extremely daring and would head into his room if given the chance but you’re running away, how funny. I can help you get to his room if you want, it’s not like you’ll see anything good." He muttered, shaking his head sadly and I frowned.
"What do you mean?"
He straightened his face, shaking his head as he feigned a smile. "Nothing of importance, so what’s it going to be? You wanna see him or not?" He asked, staring at me intently and I swallowed.
I wasn’t prepared for this... With my outfit and look, wouldn’t it be a terrible idea? The alpha would recognize me instantly, wouldn’t this infuriate him?
"Honey, you don’t have all day and remember this opportunity is a once in a lifetime deal." He pointed out, tapping his fingers on the table and I swallowed, shutting my eyes slowly.
"I’ll see him." What harm could this possibly bring? He giggled as he grabbed a cart, placing a few drinks inside and I shrugged, maybe he was delivering them to the private rooms.
"Follow me." He instructed and I nodded as he pushed the cart up, I followed, taking a moment to admire the beautiful decoration of the club.
The upper room was quiet, clean and reserved. It had no tacky chairs, lights or people.
It was so quiet, a place only the best of the best could access.
"You’ve got very little time, if you get asked, lie about missing your way." He walked and I nodded, swallowing as we walked deeper into the room.
"Room service." The bartender announced as he stood in front of a door and I frowned softly, wondering why he wasn’t serving the other rooms.
"This is your que, take it inside and have the best time of your life." He announced and I smiled softly.
"Thank you so much... erm..."
"Miguel, I have a feeling we’ll see some other time." He blew me a kiss before walking away.
The door opened and I pressed my lips together as the thick scent of alcohol hit me. He staggered back, squinting his eyes as he stared at me, trying to deduce if he had seen me before.
Seeing that he couldn’t figure out anything, he gave up as he stepped back, slumping on the chair roughly while I rushed in to help him.
Holding him, I flinched. His body was burning up and rather than find a solution, he was drinking. Countless bottles were scattered around and he had obviously ordered for more.
"Beta... You’re... You’re sick." I pointed out, wishing he’d take a moment to consider his health and he scoffed.
"It doesn’t matter, open the drinks!" He slurred and I shook my head.
I rushed into the restroom, grabbing a towel and a little bowl which I filled with water.
I returned to the room where I found him lying on the couch, throwing up all over the place. I exhaled deeply, wondering the kind of deep wound that would make a man as powerful as him this vulnerable.
