Fated To The Dark Alpha
Chapter 224. What about the rogue Alpha...?
Days passed and Darren didn’t seem to get better. This made Kora and everyone who knew of it get worried and think that something could happen to him anytime and they would be completely unprepared. They were not ready to lose their alpha, not just that he was still needed but they didn’t want to lose a friend, a brother whom they had grown up knowing.
They watched everything he did even though he had told them not to worry about him. They could not help it when his condition keeps getting worse as the days go by and they can’t do anything to help him or at least prevent it from getting worse. They wouldn’t let him go anywhere without having someone going with him, though that had been done since the beginning of his reign as the Supreme alpha, this time they made extra effort to make sure he was not alone.
It annoyed him but he understood their concern and appreciated it but still wanted some space. Right now he stood with Alpha Lazarus, Julio, Damon, Zeke, Ramiel, and a few other alphas who had come to see how he was doing and discuss a few things with him.
Darren stared coldly at them as they asked about his condition. Did he look so weak that they had to worry so much about him? This irritated him so much. He was doing fine, besides the fact that he coughed sometimes, which was something everyone did once in a while, he was not sick nor weak.
"We are just worried about you, Alpha, please don’t be offended," Alpha Julio said on behalf of everyone. They knew that he didn’t like to be asked those sorts of questions as it made him look weak. As an Alpha, weakness was a characteristic that could not be associated with them. Because they were alphas themselves, they knew that and also knew that they had their problem to deal with that they wouldn’t know what others would know. Except for their mates.
"How many times do I have to tell you that I am fine?" Darren asked in annoyance. Mateo looked at him and shook his head inwardly. He knew that was a lie but what could he do? He was a beta and his job was to stand by his alpha’s side no matter what.
"Why don’t we move to the more pressing matter?" Mateo said, taking their attention away from the Alpha’s condition. If continues pressing on the matter, he won’t be surprised if someone loses a head. Darren’s temper was getting worse as the pass and it worried him. "Alpha says he is alright,"
They all exchanged gazes and then nodded, understanding that that was the cue to stop asking questions.
"David Pearse, is planning to attack The Blood Moon Pack first," Lazarus said and everyone turned to look at him wondering how he was able to know such specific details of their attack. Knowing g everyone’s unspoken question, he said, "He is the father of Beta female,"
Knowing this only surprised them more. They knew that Beta Raven of Blood Moon Pack has a human may but they know nothing about what type of relationship he or she had with her human father or family. Was the relationship so bad that he would want to personally want to eradicate his daughter’s mate and their entire pack?
"What have you done so far and what do you need?" Darren asked. He had calmed down a bit and his tone was no longer as harsh. He preferred dealing with these kinds of things rather than being asked how he was doing. Being a lycan, he could not accept any form of weakness and he didn’t want to be seen as weak by his subjects. He was their Alpha, their pillar of strength, what would that make them if he were to be weak? And besides, he didn’t feel weak, whatever was happening did not make him weak, it inflicted pain and brought foreign emotions to him but weakness was not one of them.
There are times he would feel a sudden blood lust, feel the need to harm someone just to hear them wail in agony. Times when he would feel like going on a slaughter mission but tried hard to curb it only letting loose when there were reports of hunters around harming his people. He would then take it all out on them until he was satisfied with it and his calm would return. Besides times like these, he was doing quite alright.
"A curfew has been issued for all of my pack, warriors have been placed all over the pack and I have some in the organization watching their activities there. What I want to ask is that help should be given when the time comes." Lazarus replied. Taking on the organization alone would be a suicide mission and he would not risk that.
While there have been minor attacks on other packs, nothing had happened to the Blood Moon Pack which left him wondering what was wrong. Not that he wanted anything to happen to his pack, but it was suspicious that was why he had some people sent into the organization to infiltrate and gather information. The last people he sent they had been found out and he had called them back. These set, he made sure they were well protected before going there. Dana had put a spell on them which would prevent the humans from ever finding out that they are jit humans no matter what test they performed on them. It wasn’t easy but she was able to kill it off.
"Fine, you will have the support you need," Darren replied. All he had to do was to call some of the warriors from Ghora to come and that was it. Turning to Mateo he asked, "What about the rogue Alpha, besides his whereabouts, what else had been found about him?"
This was something very few of the Alphas knew so it came as a surprise to some of them who were in there with him. The name alone made their brief wrinkle. They looked on and waited for the Beta’s reply.
