Fated To The Dark Alpha
Chapter 228. Sedate him!
At Coldshade City,
The citizens gathered to watch a young shifter fight for his life, trying to save himself from the human soldiers who had captured him. He was just a young child who had just learned to shift and didn’t have control over his shifts yet but that didn’t seem to concern the people around him.
The look in their eyes was that of disdain and hatred. Even though the pup looked lost and scared they did not notice it all that they noticed was that there was a creature among them that was not a human. What they saw was a monster that should be killed no matter how little he was.
They still found it hard to believe that other creatures existed in the world without their knowledge. Who knows what these creatures had done in secret? This was the thought that ran through the mind of everyone standing here now. Rumors had spread a while back about other creatures’ existence but that was brushed aside thinking whoever spread such rumors was someone who watched too many movies or read too many fantasy novels that he had come to believe in the existence of creatures such as werewolves and vampires. Never would they have believed that they existed if they had seen this themselves. Some took out their phones to take pictures, some wanted to run and flee and hide for fear for their lives while others wanted to help kill that creature.
The young shifter bared his fangs trying his best to scare and intimidate them but that only gave them another reason to kill him. As young as he was, he already had murderous intent.
"Move away from the creature," the soldiers warned. Making a circle around the shifter while the civilians stepped back to avoid any accidents.
The pup howled, his senses already telling him that he was in danger. He howled louder hoping someone would hear and come to his aid, his parents wouldn’t be too far away. Being shifters, he had a way of knowing when the family members were in danger and how to find them right now, that was what he was counting on and only praying for a longer time. He had heard what the humans always did to a higher or vampires whom they captured and he didn’t want to be one of those.
Seeing them draw closer, he lunged at the first soldier leaving scratches on his arm. He was still and lacked fighting skills so that was the most that he could do.
"It is just a pup," a female soldier said. The others threw a nasty look at her forcing her to shut up immediately. She could tell that it was still so young and lacked experience. That attack he made, had he been trained, the soldier whom he attacked would have been by now but all he could do was leave a scratch in the soldier’s arm.
"A pup today would become a bigger trouble tomorrow, kill them while they are young and you won’t have to deal with them when they are older," the squad leader said, giving a warning to her and all others who were pitying the young pup. "Catch it," he ordered.
Hearing the command to capture him, the pup standing in the human circle began moving in circles too so he could lunge at whoever would come at him first.
"He is young but fierce," one of the soldiers said and the one next to him hummed in agreement with the statement. Letting this one grow would prove to be very dangerous.
"Sedate him!" the squad leader said. Going to catch him while he was still moving and in control of his own body was dangerous. No matter how little a snake was, it was still a snake and could strike at any time. The same can be said for this pup. He was only a pup who had just shifted probably for the first time but he was a shifter who now had claws and fangs. "Search the premises, make sure there are no more shifters hiding someone waiting for the right moment to attack or run,"
An injection was shot at the pup and his pacing movement slowly reduced until he could not walk anymore and fell on his stomach. He didn’t want to shift to his human skin, it would be easy to capture him like that. This was something that he had learned even as a pup. They run taste and we’re stronger in their beast forms. So even at the last moments like this when people had expected him to shift to his human skin, he did not.
If the human was hurt, the wolf would also suffer the same amount t if hurt and pain but the beast would take much more torture while preserving their human half.
Seeing him down, there were audible sighs of relief from the humans standing far away watching the ordeal. They released the breath that they didn’t know they were holding. They were just about to walk closer to take a proper look at the boy turned wolf when they heard the growl of two wolves which was much louder, sleeper and more threatening compared to that of the pup and they froze knowing that his parents must have come to save him.
Due to the darkness of the night, they couldn’t see which direction the wolves heard. All that they could do was stare into the woods trying to see past the trees and spot them.
Meanwhile, the growl became even more dangerous when the shifters spotted their pup immobile on the ground. Though they knew he wasn’t dead yet since the link had not snapped yet, they were still angry because the humans could have done anything to him. He was just a pup who had done nothing and had harmed no one. He didn’t deserve to go through such trauma.
A man and woman appeared from behind the trees and the humans stopped and frowned. From the growls they heard, they were expecting to see wolves match towards them. nit a couple who looked pissed. They looked like they were ready to tear everyone to pieces.
