Fated To The Dark Alpha
Chapter 44. She saw his mate
"what other important things do you have to do, Darren?" Leo asked following behind Darren.
"I am in disposition to explain anything to you, now return to your post and stay there," Darren said. He had reached the front yard where Mateo was waiting for him with a few warriors. "Is everything ready as I asked?" Darren asked, his gaze directed towards Mateo.
"Yes, Alpha, it is all ready and in place just as you ordered." Answered Mateo.
"Good," Darren said and looked ahead into the distance. He closes his eyes and inhaled deeply. No one said a word to him as he kept his eyes closed because they knew what he was doing. He was listening to movement all over the vicinity. As an Alpha and a lycan, he had the best hearing in the werewolf race. He could hear things that most of them could but hear. His senses were sharper and more alert than the others around him.
Darren focussed his mind on the sounds around him, blocking whichever he didn’t want to hear. For a while, he heard nothing suspicious and almost stopped when he heard footsteps that did not belong to a shifter mixed with that of some paws hitting the ground approaching the pack from the southern and northern ends of the pack’s territory. "There are here," Warren said as he opened his eyes.
"Who is here?" Leo asked not understanding what was going on.
"They are at the northern and southern ends, have them all ready for an attack," Darren said not sparing Leo a glance.
"Yes, Alpha," Mateo responded. "Where will you take your stand, Alpha?" He asked.
"The south, they are someone interesting people whom I will like to meet personally there," Darren said with a smirk that threw Mateo off.
"I will accompany you, Alpha," Mateo said, almost sounding like a declaration of loyalty.
"No," Darren said with finality. "You will lead the front in the north, Levi isn’t around to fill that spot."
"Understood, Alpha," Mateo said, reluctantly consenting to it.
"There is gonna be an attack?" Leo asked. He was able to understand what they were talking about now but he just couldn’t understand why they were a sudden attack on the Shadow moon pack when everyone out there knew that it was home to the Alpha supreme. It seems that some people just can’t stay away from danger but are rather attracted to it.
"Yes," Mateo answered.

Blood moon pack,
"Can I stay with you two?" Kora asked looking a Lazarus and Raven. "I feel more comfortable with you than staying there with them especially now that Emily is gone." Not just Emily was gone, but Dana and Ezra were also out as they had something to do, well, Dana had something to do and Ezra accompanied her.
Lazarus nodded his head while Raven glared at her. The alpha had already agreed so he could not say no and she listen. Despite being the beta, he did not have control over the girl named kora who was standing before him right now and he wondered why. She sat down and ignited all the glares and sneers of Raven and liked the people who were left at her ’Birthday party’ she knew them but at the same time, she did not know them.
His eyes wandered around the room. And finally came in contact with Raven’s she paused as things started to fade around them. She blinked and shook her head to get rid of the feeling and then turned her gaze in another direction and it fell on the cake that she didn’t even eat because she did not like to eat sweets.
Raven caught the way she looked at him and squinted his eyes at her. She has never looked at him that way before and what was the shaking of her head for? He asked himself. He tried to get that thought out of his head but he just could not and decided to ask her about it. "What was that look about?" He asked keeping his gaze focused on Kora.
Lazarus who was oblivious to what was happening alternated his eyes between the two of them and raised a brow as his gaze finally settled on Raven. "What are you talking about?" Kora asked with a frown.
"Don’t play dumb, you know what I mean," Raven said looking agitated. Lazarus was quiet as he listen to the exchange between the two of them.
"Oh... That, I thought I saw something." Kora said with an innocent look on her face. "Why do you think was looking at you?" She asked out of curiosity it was hard to get to know what this man was thinking as he hardly spoke to anyone. This was a chance for her to get him to talk more and to her amusement, she was not going to waste it.
"You have been nothing but a doomsayer since you arrived here," Raven said and the crease in his brows deepened. "What did you see this time."
Even Lazarus was interested in what she had seen although he did not agree with the choice of words of his beta he was not completely wrong. If it was another just like the previous ones that she had seen before then they would have to prepare for an attack.
"You mean like when I warned you not to go out under bad weather because you are most likely going to be struck by lightning and you refuse to listen?" Kora taunted with a smirk on her face. Lazarus chuckled at what she said. He remembered that moment very well and it was indeed funny.
Raven got angry and felt like strangling her to death. He fought for calm as he glared at her. It looks could kill than Kora would have the very moment they found five years ago at night in the middle of the woods. "What did you see?" He asked through clenched jaws and gritted teeth.
Lazarus did not bother to stop them because he knew that they both liked to annoy each other.
"In the next two days, your mate will arrive at the nearest human town at a cafe," Kora said. Her tone was flat and she looked bored talking about it.
Raven was stunned. She saw his mate! Even Lazarus was surprised at what she said and looked at his beta to see his reaction and he was not surprised to see him frozen in a daze.
"What?!"
