Fated To The Dark Alpha
Chapter 55. Fear and panic in her eyes
"That is none of your business," Lazarus said to Darren. He had no intention of telling him anything about Kora. He can tell him anything about anyone except for Kora.
"Don’t think I didn’t see what happened here, Lazarus," Darren said annoyed that Lazarus was keeping the information about his girl away from him. "You either tell me, or I find it out on my own."
"By all means," Lazarus said looking at Darren with a challenging gaze. "Do as you wish." Said Lazarus, also tugging his hands into his pockets. "Why are you here? With what happened in your pack yesterday, you should be there handling things not here, in my pack, taking a walk."
"I got bored and thought to visit you, looks like I am not welcome here," Darren said shrugging his shoulder.
Lazarus looked at him not believing any of what he said. "You have a purpose for coming here, what is it?"
"To see a friend," Darren said turning around and walking away. "I’ll let you three finish what you were doing, before my interruption.
Lazarus watched Darren’s retreating silhouette until he was out of sight before he turned to Ezra and Emily’s dad.
While Darren walked into the pack house where he found Kora sitting at the bottom step of the stairs with her hand on her chin watching the other children in the pack house play with a bored expression on her face. She looks up when she felt his presence and a soft smile appeared on her face making him smile back at her.

In the Cafe in the human city
Raven sat down facing the woman named Rosie, his mate. Though things started awkwardly, she had become more relaxed talking to him. When she first saw him, she was reproachful seeing how he was dressed. Raven had on a pair of black jeans, a black shirt, and a black jacket something that seemed too dark for someone like her who was dressed in light colours. She had on blue jeans, a white shirt, and a yellow jacket.
She had a smile on her face as she listened to what he said to her. Checking the time on her wristwatch, she looked apologetically at Raven and said, "It was nice to meet you here Mr Stone, but I have to go now," Rose said standing up and picking up her bag from the seat next to her and holding her phone. She picked up her jacket which was left hanging on the same chair that her bag was placed on.
Raven stood up as well. "Mind if I drop you off? He asked and followed her walking towards the door.
"I wouldn’t want to bother you, I can go alone, I don’t leave far from here," Rosie replied. she reached out her hand to open the door but Raven beat her to it, opening the door for her to walk through before doing so himself.
"I insist." He said. She stops and turns to look at him, "I would love to drop you off at your place."
Seeing that he was not budging even after she had respectfully turned him down, she did not know how to do so again without being too direct and sounding rude, she smiled at him and nodded.
Raven gave a rare but genuine smile to her before leasing the way to where his car was packed. "This way," She followed him and came to stop when he did and waited for him to unlock the car before getting inside.
Just as she was about to hold and open the door, her hand grazed that of Raven who wanted to open the door for her. She pulls back and looked at her hand. She wondered what had just happened. She felt a spark run through her hand like an electric current except that it did not hurt but rather felt good. She looked at Raven to see what expression he had on his face wondering if he felt it too.
Rosie opened her mouth to say something to him but ended up closing it back not wanting to look like a fool before him if he did feel the spark as well. "Thanks." She said and got into the passenger seat and buckle her seat belt.
Raven then turned around to the driver’s seat and started the car and drove away from the cafe. He kept on stealing glances at her while she was still thinking about what was with the spark that she felt. He knew what she was thinking but he did not mention it to her as he thought it was too soon to do so. For now, he would let her drown herself in the thought except she asks him before he would tell her.
Soon they arrived at the driveway of a bungalow and the car came to a stop. "Did I get it right?" Raven asked.
Rosie who had been distracted for a while now was a bit startled when he spoke and he did not miss that small detail but it disappeared before he could completely understand what it was. His eyes squinted at her. He recognize that look because it is the same look that most people gave him whenever they saw him, but none of that bothered him before. The look on her face when he spoke was that of fear and slight panic as if she had done something wrong.
"Yes, you did, thank you." She said looking a bit impatient to get out and rush inside but forced herself to stay because she did not want to be rude.
"I am glad I did." He said, looking at her face, closely observing her expression. There was indeed fear and panic which she was trying hard to hide.
she nodes at him and smiled. "I should go now." She said and opened the door before stepping. She turns back and looks at the car only to see Raven coming down as well.
He walked up to her and extended his hand for a handshake, "It was a pleasure meeting your, Miss Spears." Rosie looked behind her at the house and then back at Raven’s extended hand before shaking it.
Feeling The sparks once again, she tried to pull back her hand but his hold was firm and didn’t let her pull away from him. She looked up at him and met his gaze. His grey eyes stared at her with hidden darkness.
Still holding her hand in his, he used his other hand to tug a strand of her hair behind her ear. "I hope we meet again, soon." He said still keeping her locked in his gaze.
Though surprised by his actions, Rosie smiled and said, "I hope so too."
Seeing the impatience in her eyes even when there was a Smile on her face, he finally let her go. And as it she could not wait to get away from him she left with hurried steps. He stood in the same place until he watched her open the door to get in. She stops and turns around and offers him a smile going in and shutting the door behind her.
Raven got into the car, looked at the house and his eyes flickered turning from grey to crimson. He did not like the fear in his mate’s eyes. She was alright until they got near her home, a place where she should have been happy to return to but she was rather fearful to return.
He drove a few blocks away and stops the car again. He pulled out his phone from his pocket, unlocks it, and sends a message to Lazarus before dropping it on the seat beside him. He closed his eyes and then waited for the right time.
