Find a Troubled Girl after leaving the Guild
Chapter 582 - 295: Holding the Line (Part 2)
Neil led everyone through the ancient ship's corridors. Once the tension of the unfamiliar surroundings passed, everyone marveled at the splendor of this creation from a bygone civilization.
It's described as splendid because the "Island Founder" truly pushed metal craftsmanship to its limits. The ship's interior corridors shimmer with golden light, with distinct sections cleverly integrated. Through shapes and shadows, clear distinctions are made between different parts. Although the lighting is not intense, its design creates a resplendent corridor, showcasing the past civilization's excellent engineering and aesthetic prowess.
Looking closely, it's evident that many parts are not made of metal but are crafted from mana-conducting materials similar to metal, which is sensible since a ship entirely of metal would be excessively heavy.
Even though Li Ang has seen plenty of sci-fi works before, he can't help but admire the uniqueness of the sight before him.
The resting quarters Neil found for them is a single suite with five rooms. It's a resting area unit built within the ancient ship. The central circular activity room is neither cramped nor spacious, featuring six doors evenly arranged, one leading to the outer corridor and the other five to crew rooms.
The entrances to these rooms are metal doors controlled mechanically, sliding horizontally into the walls, carrying a sci-fi flair. Inside the rooms are a lot of Nebis' contemporary household items, clearly added later by people from the Shadow Factory.
"The ship originally had systems for maintaining temperature and supplying resources, but we haven't managed to activate them yet."
Pointing to a bed, Neil said, "This metal-like bed frame was supposed to adjust temperature as needed. The water pipes and food conveyor belts in the resting area cannot be activated for now. Water needs to be fetched from outside, and I'll have someone deliver it at regular intervals. For meals, I'll take you to the cafeteria later."
"Alright, thank you for your hard work."
After Neil left, Zoe circled the room and quickly ran up to Li Ang.
"Are you about to say we should build our ship like this?"
"No, it's, no..."
The young girl was a bit flustered, waving her hands as she struggled to express herself.
After some tongue-twisting, she finally managed to say, "I mean, we can build our own ship here now!"
Zoe's words piqued the interest of the other three members of the Star Flower Travel Corps.
"That's indeed the case," Andasu said. "What we originally lacked was the space to build a ship, and there are quite a few shipyards here."
ALulu stood at the door of the activity room, looking out. The corridor's transparent window offered a view of other shipbuilding areas in the underground space, with some left unused by the Shadow Factory.
"We could discuss it with Mr. Loken," Xiaoniu suggested.
"Oh? Am I about to witness the birth of the legendary Flying Airship?" Huo Zui Reid remarked.
"You're still here?" several people asked in unison.
"Ah, I've heard many amazing things along the way. Writing them down in a travelogue might find few believers, but they're valuable experiences nonetheless," said the masked man with a sigh.
"I was just thinking the same. We should mention it when the discussion happens," Li Ang said.
"Yay!" Zoe exclaimed, raising her hands.
"We need to name it," Dorothy said.
"It'll be a good ship, so why not just call it 'Good Ship'?" Zoe immediately suggested.
"That absolutely won't do!" Li Ang firmly objected.
The young girls looked at him curiously, seemingly not understanding his sudden excitement.
"The name is indeed too casual," Andasu agreed.
"How about 'Flower Boat'? It fits the Star Flower Travel Corps' meaning," Dorothy suggested.
"Isn't that just including yourself?" Zoe frowned.
"Ah, I've been found out."
During the establishment of the Star Flower Travel Corps, Li Ang had specifically linked the team's name with their significance, so Zoe could intuitively figure it out.
"Call it 'Li Ang's Harem Airship,'" Xiaomo laughed.
The atmosphere suddenly went quiet, the girls' cheeks flushed, but none denied it.
Morales had intended to embarrass Li Ang, but as he saw this scene, he felt somewhat unsatisfied.
Immediately after, his expression changed as a sharp feeling pierced through him. His gaze shifted to find the black-haired girl named Meluna staring at him as if he were dead.
"Hey, Li Ang, why does your woman look like she wants to kill me?" Xiaomo shouted.
As soon as he called it out, Meluna's murderous intent receded, leaving him scratching his brown beast ears in confusion.
"Let's think over the ship's name slowly. It won't be finished in less than half a month once construction starts," Li Ang said.
The day had been exhausting enough, and it was time to rest well.
Due to Xiaomo's interruption, no one had eaten, so he led them to the Shadow Factory's cafeteria.
Perhaps because it was mostly run by workers, the cafeteria gave Li Ang a strong sense of déjà vu, having lived in a workers' compound for a long time before.
The young girls were eating over there, while Li Ang, Farina, and Morales seized a chance to gather privately.
The three of them chatted for a bit about past events, especially Viel, mocking and poking fun at the old troupe leader, enough to compile into a joke book.
"Can you tell that one again? The Viel joke," Xiaomo asked Li Ang.
"Which one? Was it the one where he was furious because his Secret Technique got blocked by the Sub-human leader, or when his private stash got discovered by his wife preventing him from buying Equipment, or after making a bold statement only to be exposed by Kitan and then losing his composure?"
