Flash Marriage: My Penniless Billionaire Husband
Chapter 110: They Must Have Loved Each Other Deeply
Janice bit her lip, not wanting to tell Christopher, in case he teased her again. She said, "Nothing. I want to sleep now."
She turned around and walked to the bed. She lifted the quilt and lay down, smiling when he could not see.
Christopher stared at her figure, chuckled, and followed her to lie down. "What are you doing, why are you squeezing so tightly." "This bed is too small. If I don’t hold you, you’ll fall off." "Then what are your hands doing..."
At this time, outside the door of their room, Old Mr. Allson stood, with his body half bent and his ears pressed against the door, listening to the movements inside.
<That’s strange. My precious grandson went in there for so long. Why is there no movement or sound at all?
Could they be quarreling inside?>
Thinking of this, Old Mr. Allson put his ear closer to the door and listened carefully.
At this time, Christopher, though he had just laid down with Janice, suddenly sat up.
"What are you doing?"
Janice was confused.
Christopher frowned and touched his stomach. "I’m hungry."
"You didn’t eat dinner?" Janice was shocked.
Christopher nodded. He was so busy in the company and he left very late. When he heard that Janice had come here, he had rushed over and had no time to eat.
Hearing what he said, Janice also sat up.
"Then what should we do?"
After all, they were not in their own home now.
Christopher quickly put on his clothes. "I go downstairs to find something to eat."
He got out of bed. "Do you want something?"
Janice shook her head. "I don’t want anything, I’m still full from dinner."
Christopher did not say anything else and walked towards the door. However, as soon as he opened the door, he bumped into Old Mr. Allson who was snooping outside.
He got a fright.
"Grandpa, why are you standing here at night?"
Old Mr. Allson stood up awkwardly. Although he had been caught eavesdropping, he pretended like nothing had happened.
"No reason."
How could Christopher not know?
He closed the door and stared at Old Mr. Allson with a frown. "How old are you? You still have the bad habit of eavesdropping?"
As soon as he finished speaking, he snorted and walked downstairs.
However, Old Mr. Allson was very embarrassed and chased after him.
"How dare you say that about your grandfather? Where’s your manners?"
Christopher said helplessly, "Okay, I didn’t say anything, okay?"
He strode toward the kitchen.
Old Mr. Allson followed him and asked.
"What’s wrong? Have you been chased out?"
Hearing this, Christopher turned around and couldn’t help frowning. "Grandpa, what are you talking about?"
Old Mr. Allson snorted.
"Don’t think that I don’t know. You must have been driven out by Janice."
Christopher was a little speechless. Grandpa had a very active imagination.
"It’s not what you think."
He said helplessly.
"Then why did you come out?" Old Mr. Allson did not believe him.
Christopher said, "I’m hungry, so I’m finding something to eat."
Hearing what he said, Old Mr. Allson’s mind spun. Indeed, some activities required physical strength.
Only then did his expression cool down and he said, "There’s food in the refrigerator. Go get it yourself."
As soon as he finished speaking, he turned around and went to his room. However, he couldn’t help but mutter to himself "My dear grandson isn’t very strong. It seems that he needs some tonics and supplements."
Christopher walked to the fridge. Sure enough, he saw that there was food inside.
As he took out some food, he heard footsteps. He looked back and found that it was Janice. He was confused. "Didn’t you say you’re not hungry?"
...
Janice stepped forward and asked instead, "I just heard grandpa’s voice. Is he still awake?"
Christopher nodded. "Not yet."
He took out milk and bread and asked, "Do you want some?"
Janice shook her head, but seemed to think of something. She said somewhat bashfully, "You’d better not stay here tonight. I’ll stay with grandpa."
Christopher frowned. "It’s late. If you want to stay, I’ll stay with you."
Of course, Janice knew that it was very tiring to drive at night. However, when she thought of Christopher’s naughty sleeping posture, she couldn’t help but say.
"Then you go sleep in the guest room."
She didn’t want to embarrass herself here.
Christopher stared at her as he realized what she was up to. He narrowed his eyes.
"What are you afraid of? I won’t eat you. Besides, if we don’t sleep in the same room, do you want Grandpa to worry?"
Christopher said meaningfully.
"Of course not."
Janice shook her head. "But..."
She was still a little worried.
Christopher put down the food and walked over to wrap his arms around her shoulders. "Don’t worry, I know what I’m doing."
He lowered his head and whispered in her ear.
Janice’s cheeks turned red.
That night, the two of them and slept for the whole night on the small bed.
When she woke up in the morning, she glanced at Christopher. He was still asleep. She got out of bed quietly. Before her feet even touched the ground, she was pulled back into his arms.
"It’s still early. Sleep a little longer."
He murmured.
Janice was held fast in his arms. She looked up at him and said, "I’m getting up first. You can sleep for a while if you want."
"No, sleep with me."
As he spoke, he buried his head against her neck.
Janice was somewhat speechless. After all, this was his grandfather’s home.
For Christopher, he could sleep as long as he wanted.
But she was a new daughter-in -law after all. It was the first time she spent the night at an elder’s house. How could she wake too late?
Thinking of this, she moved Christopher’s hands away and said, "Don’t make trouble. Be obedient."
This time, Christopher did not continue pestering her.
He turned over and continued to sleep with some grumbles.
Janice washed up and went downstairs. The living room was empty. She wondered if Grandpa was still asleep.
While Janice was standing there, Nanny came out of the kitchen and was a little surprised to see her. "Janice, why did you get up so early? It’s only six o’clock. Why not sleep some more?"
Janice smiled. "I simply woke up. Where’s Grandpa?" "The old master is practicing Tai Chi in the courtyard." Upon hearing this, Janice nodded and walked out.
When she walked to the courtyard outside, she saw Old Mr. Allson exercising. Every move he made was precise.
It seemed that he practiced very often and was very good at it.
She watched quietly and did not go to disturb him. Instead, she subconsciously looked around.
It was serene in the morning.
She could hear the sound of insects and birds, which was very rare in the noisy city.
Janice could not help but close her eyes and feel the peaceful atmosphere.
"You’re awake."
Old Mr. Allson’s voice came.
Janice opened her eyes and found that the old man had finished his exercise.
Janice stepped forward and asked, "Grandpa, do you get up so early every morning to practice?"
Old Mr. Allson walked to the bench and picked up a towel to wipe his sweat. He said, "I’m old and I don’t sleep much anymore. By the way, why did you get up so early? Why don’t you sleep a little longer?"
...
Janice said embarrassingly," I woke up early so I got out of bed."
Old Mr. Allson seemed to have noticed something and said, "I’m not a pedant. You don’t need to be so formal with me."
He looked around and said, "Since you’re up, come and accompany me to take a walk outside."
Janice nodded.
She followed him to a nearby park, filled with lush greeneries.
It was relaxing.
"By the way, Grandpa, have you thought about how you want to celebrate your birthday?"
Janice asked.
Old Mr. Allson said, "To be honest, I’m old and I don’t really like to celebrate birthdays anymore. I don’t know when I’ll be gone."
He sighed and sat down on a bench.
Janice followed him and sat down. She consoled, "Don’t say that, Grandpa. You’ll live to a hundred years old."
"Silly girl, that’s a lie. How many people can live up to a hundred years?" "No, there are a lot of old people who live a long life now." Janice said.
Old Mr. Allson frowned. "That’s because they have goals they want to achieve. I don’t want to live for so long. I just want to meet my wife in my afterlife."
There wasn’t a trace of sadness when he talked about death. Instead, there was a longing expression on his face.
Although Janice did not understand Old Mr. Allson’s emotions, she was amazed and respected the love between him and his wife. 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂
They must have loved each other so much to overcome life and death.
On the way to work, she couldn’t help but ask Christopher, "Christopher, do you know what Grandma liked when she was alive?"
Christopher paused when he heard her. He explained, "Grandma passed away when I was young so I didn’t remember much about her. But she left many of her belongings at home. You can have a look."
"Really? Can I see it?"
Janice asked.
"Of course. I’ll take you there when we get back at night." Christopher caressed her crown dotingly.
Janice thought, "It’s best if I could see her belongings."
She bid farewell to Christopher at the entrance of the TV station and met Denise when she was waiting for the elevator.
"Morning."
Janice greeted her as if nothing had happened.
Denise was a little surprised.
She thought Janice would ignore her like yesterday.
Surprisingly, she took the initiative to greet her and it seemed that she was in a good mood.
Denise was confused, but she didn’t express it. She smiled and greeted, "Good morning, you seem to be in a good mood today."
Janice thought to herself, "I’m in a good mood now that the misunderstanding has been resolved."
However, she knew very well that Denise was trying to mislead her back then.
She replied, "Yeah, my mood is good."
The elevator bell rang and the elevator door opened. Janice walked in.
Although Denise was unwilling to give up, she acted as if nothing had happened and followed her into the elevator.
She reached out and pressed the elevator button. Then she took a step back and stood side by side with Janice.
There were only the two of them in the elevator.
The atmosphere was somehow weird even though both of them were silent.
In the end, Denise broke the silence.
"By the way, we have decided to broadcast the show next weekend. Remember to schedule some time these few days for an interview."
"An interview?"
Janice asked in confusion.
Denise replied, "That’s right. The new show needs publicity before it’s released. Get ready."
The elevator stopped and the door opened.
Denise walked out of the elevator but she sneered coldly in secret when Janice was not noticing.
Janice could not help but frown.
She didn’t know why she had to do an interview.
Sure enough, people from the magazine publisher arrived at noon.
She saw Benjamin inside when she went in.
