Flash Marriage: My Penniless Billionaire Husband
Chapter 121: Janice Doesn’t Like To Fake Anything
The man stood in front of the crowd and cast his eyes on her.
"Hello, everyone."
His casual voice passed through the crowd, and his gaze fell on her.
Janice quickly covered her face and turned around. She thought to herself, "Don’t recognize me, please."
Then she was about to go inside.
"Ms. Gladwell, how can you just leave without saying anything?"
Suddenly, everyone’s eyes turned to her.
Janice felt so awkward. Since she couldn’t avoid him, she turned around and looked at him.
"It’s you."
"Yes, it’s me. From now on, I’m the new shareholder of your TV station. A big surprise?"
Janice just smiled.
She thought, "It’s more like a shock."
"Well, this is our new shareholder, Mr. Taylor who comes here for the first time. Go back to work everyone."
At this time, the supervisor of their department said.
Upon hearing this, the crowd melted away.
Janice was about to leave.
"Please hold on, Ms. Gladwell."
Janice turned around.
"Work hard, I have faith in you."
James made a gesture of encouragement to her, then he turned around, and walked forward.
Staring at his figure, Janice felt a little headache.
At the entrance of the TV station, James got in the car and then rubbed his stiff face. What kind of tough work was this?
He frowned, picked up his phone, and dialed.
"Chris, you’re too bad. Why did you ask me to do such a thing? Let me speak frankly, I’m only a nominal shareholder. I won’t meddle in the mess inside."
Christopher listened to his complaints and frowned. "I know. I didn’t expect you to take care of it."
"I don’t understand. You are the one who invest this station. What do you want to obtain by asking me here?"
Hearing his words, Christopher curled his lips.
He had made the decision last night.
Since Janice wanted to prove herself, he could only be an invisible person.
"I don’t want anything, as long as my wife is happy." 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
After Christopher hung up the phone, it rang again. It was from Janice.
He picked it up.
"Christopher, our TV station has a new shareholder today. Do you know who he is?"
Hearing Janice voice, Christopher couldn’t help curling his lips and pretending not to know. "Who is it?"
"James Taylor, your good friend," Janice answered.
"Really?"
Janice spanned the pen in her hand and said, "Well...don’t tell him to take care of me. I don’t want to be taken special care of."
Christopher had already expected her to say that. He nodded and said, "Okay, I won’t."
Upon hearing Christopher’s words, Janice heaved a sigh of relief.
After all, she had just gotten rid of Benjamin.
But another Taylor came.
However, since Christopher had said so.
she should be able to rest assured.
The show would be aired on Sunday. Early in the morning, Janice was a little restless.
She had worked so hard for it and had been questioned and criticized so much.
And today she could get the result.
She couldn’t help feeling a little flustered.
She anxiously walked back and forth in the room the whole morning.
While reading on the couch, Christopher saw all of her anxiety.
...
Finally, he closed the book, stood up, and said, "The weather is so good outside. Shall we go out for a walk?"
Janice shook her head and said, "No, it’s too hot."
Christopher knew that she was too anxious.
He said, "Why don’t we go out and eat ice cream?"
Thinking of the show, Janice suppressed this impulse and said, "No, I’ll just sit here and wait."
Christopher glanced at his watch. There were still a few hours before the show’s broadcast.
"Is she going to stay here like this for the whole day?" He thought.
His phone suddenly rang.
"Grandpa."
Christopher picked it up.
Grandpa said something on the phone then Christopher looked at Janice and said, "Don’t worry, we’ll go there right away."
He hung up the phone, and said, "Grandpa asked us to have dinner there." Before Janice could say something.
Christopher took the initiative to say, "Grandpa said that we must go there. He has something important to say."
Upon hearing this, Janice swallowed her words and said, "Well, I’ll change my clothes."
After that, she turned and walked upstairs.
Christopher stared at her figure and shook his head in resignation.
At five o’clock in the evening, they drove to Old Mr. Allson’s villa.
After dinner, Old Mr. Allson asked Janice to sit on the sofa.
"Janice, come on, sit down. Tonight your show will be aired. Let’s watch it together."
Janice was much more nervous. "No, Grandpa. I remember that there’s an email that I have to send today. I’ll go upstairs first."
As she spoke, she hurriedly got up and walked upstairs.
Old Mr. Allson frowned as he watched her leaving in a hurry.
At this moment, Christopher came over. Old Mr. Allson quickly asked, "What’s wrong
with Janice? She looks flustered."
Christopher sat down on the sofa and said, "She’s worried that the ratings of the show."
"Is that so?" Old Mr. Allson frowned. Then he turned to stare at Christopher and said, "I have heard that the ratings of the show can be bought. Why don’t we buy some?"
Hearing that, Christopher quickly refused, "Grandpa, please stop. Janice doesn’t like to fake anything. If she finds out, she will be angry."
Only then did Old Mr. Allson stopped his thoughts. His gaze swept over his grandson in disgust. "So you just stand aside and do nothing? What if the ratings of the show are not good? She’s your wife. You should think of a way."
Listening to his grandfather’s words, Christopher sighed. He was very confident in her. After all, he had seen how charming she was when she was on work.
Therefore, he said, "Grandpa, please take it easy. I’ve watched her show and have confidence in her."
Hearing his grandson’s words, Old Mr. Allson agreed, "Yes, we have to be confident in Janice."
At this moment, Janice, who was in the bedroom upstairs, was so nervous.
She kept staring at the time on her phone.
She hoped time would pass faster and her show would be aired immediately.
But she was so nervous that she wanted time to stop. Thus she could be more mentally prepared.
...
But she knew that no matter what, even if she was not mentally prepared, it would still be broadcast.
She should be brave to face it directly.
And she should have the courage to accept the possible dissatisfaction.
Thinking of this, she tried her best to overcome the anxiety and stood up.
"Be brave."
She bit her lip and walked toward the door.
In the living room downstairs.
The grandfather and the grandson were staring at the TV, waiting for the show.
Nanny Daisy came over and said, "Mr. Allson, the things have been cooked. Shall I bring..."
Only then did Old Mr. Allson think of this. He immediately got up and pulled her aside. Then he scolded her in a low voice, "Why are you talking it now? Can’t you see that my granddaughter-in-law is unhappy?"
Nanny Daisy was confused.
"Does this have anything to do with the tonic for Christopher?"
Old Mr. Allson thought to himself, "Of course. My granddaughter-in-law is in a bad mood. How dare my grandson..."
He said, "You know nothing. Put it aside and wait for my instructions."
"Okay."
Nanny Daisy walked away while complaining in her heart, "Mr. Allson is so strange. He just wants to give Christopher some tonics. Why is he so careful?"
Old Mr. Allson returned to his seat.
Christopher asked curiously, "What was Nanny Daisy talking about just now?"
Old Mr. Allson looked a little unnatural and said, "Nothing. Let’s watch TV. There are more and more advertisements nowadays. It’s ridiculous."
He changed the subject.
But as soon as he finished speaking, he found a problem.
"Wait, this advertisement is of your mother’s jewelry brand."
Christopher thought to himself, "Grandpa, you just recognize it?"
Then Old Mr. Allson understood and looked at Christopher.
"You took your mother’s property to support for your wife. What about yours?"
Christopher said, "How can technology be connected to it?"
"Well, since the sponsor is you, you have to talk to the TV station that there are too many advertisements, which will affect the impression of this show."
Old Mr. Allson said.
Christopher was surprised that his grandpa, who had been a shrewd businessman for his entire life, didn’t care about interest now.
He said, "Got it."
"By the way, Grandpa, you said on the phone that there was something very important."
Christopher suddenly remembered to ask.
Old Mr. Allson looked awkward.
"Let’s talk about it later. Watch TV now."
Christopher didn’t think too much about it. He continued to stare at the television. Then he saw Janice, who was standing at the staircase entrance. He then stood up, and walked over.
Janice stood there and hesitated.
While she was hesitating, Christopher stopped in front of her.
"The show is about to begin. Do you want to watch it together?"
Christopher asked.
Janice pursed her lips.
"I’d better not."
She did not have the courage and turned to go upstairs.
Christopher grabbed her arm.
"You should have confidence in yourself, OK?"
He stared into her eyes to encourage her.
Even so, Janice still felt uneasy.
She stared at him and asked, "Do you... have faith in me?"
"Of course."
Christopher said without any hesitation.
Upon hearing his words, Janice felt comforted and said, "Then... let us watch it together?"
