Flash Marriage: My Penniless Billionaire Husband
Chapter 152: Who Did You Hear From?
Janice could see her feeling guilty, but she did not expose her. All she said was, "Can you help me to hand this over to him?"
As she spoke, she handed over the meal card.
Lucy stared at the meal card in confusion, "This is..."
Janice did not explain as she worked hard in order to get this meal card back from Christopher.
She thought that she probably knew the reason that Benjamin had given her this meal card.
He probably already knew that she had no money to eat.
As for where he got the news, she could figure it out after thinking about it carefully.
However, she did not blame Lucy. After all, Lucy had good intentions.
However, she could not accept Benjamin’s kindness.
She said, "Give it to him, and he’ll know."
Hearing this, Lucy did not continue to ask and said, "Okay, I will definitely give it to him when I see him."
Janice nodded and chatted with Lucy for a while before leaving.
After some time passed, it was finally the day of Old Mr. Allson’s birthday.
This morning, Janice brought the surprise that she had been preparing for nearly a month.
A big mahogany box.
Christopher stared at the big box and asked curiously, "What’s in it?"
Janice blinked, "It’s a secret."
Seeing that she was acting mysteriously, Christopher did not ask any further. He placed the box into the car boot as she asked and drove to the Old Mr. Allson’s villa.
"Grandpa, we’re here."
Janice walked in first after they arrived at Old Mr. Allson’s villa.
Old Mr. Allson was excited when he saw her.
After that, he saw Christopher carrying a big mahogany box behind her, he then frowned and asked, "What are you carrying?"
Christopher placed the box on the ground and said, "You’d better ask Janice." Old Mr. Allson glanced at Janice when he heard of this.
Janice did not tell him about it directly, "Grandpa, take a guess."
Old Mr. Allson stared at the mahogany box with curiosity. He thought for a moment, but could not think of anything, he then shook his head and said, "I can’t guess it."
Janice laughed softly when she heard this, "This is the birthday present for you." She smiled brightly.
Only then did Old Mr. Allson realize that she was being playful and asked curiously, "Oh, what is it?"
Only then did Janice ask, "Don’t you remember the drafts that I asked for from grandmother?"
"Yes, I remember," Old Mr. Allson nodded.
Janice continued, "I found a better way to store them from the TV station and some museums. With this, you just need a special way to store it."
As she spoke, Janice pulled out a key and opened the box. All of a sudden, the neat and fragrant drafts came into view. Looking at the familiar drafts, Old Mr. Allson was amazed. "Really?"
Janice nodded and continued, "I will teach the methods to Nanny Daisy. You can store all of these without any worries in the future."
With that, she smiled towards Nanny Daisy.
Nanny Daisy said immediately, "I will definitely listen to young madam’s teachings and protect these manuscripts."
Tears welled up in Old Mr. Allson’s eyes. These burdens had been weighing on him for the greater half of his life, he could finally let out a sigh of relief that they would be protected with efforts.
He turned to Janice and said, "Good child, you’re kind."
At this moment, Christopher came out with a big cake and said, "Let’s cut the cake first."
After that, they arranged around the cake. 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂
And, the doorbell suddenly rang.
...
"Who is it?"
Nanny Daisy put down the things in her hands, muttered, and walked over to open the door.
Janice and Christopher continued arranging the cakes and candles.
After Christopher turned off the lights in the living room, the whole room was filled with a festive atmosphere.
"Let us sing you a birthday song, Grandpa."
They looked at each other and smiled. In the next second, they hummed and sang in unison.
Old Mr. Allson, who was wearing a birthday hat, clapped his hands and sang happily.
"Grandpa, make a wish," when the singing stopped, Janice smiled affectionately.
"Yes, Grandpa. Please make a wish," Christopher echoed.
Old Mr. Allson glanced at his grandson and granddaughter-in-law before he closed his eyes to make a wish. He blew off the candles in one breath after he opened his eyes.
"Yeah! Grandpa is amazing," Just when Janice cheered and was about to cut the cake, Nanny Daisy walked over.
"Old master, there are two people who came and said..."
Nanny Daisy hesitated.
Seeing Nanny Daisy hesitated, Old Mr. Allson frowned, "Come on, tell me."
Nanny Daisy glanced at Janice and said, "They said that they’re from the young madam’s maiden family and came to celebrate your birthday."
Everyone was stunned when they heard this, especially Janice.
"Her parents?"
Could it be Malcolm and Gladys?
It was impossible as she had never told them anything about her husband’s family. How did they find her?
When she thought of this, she said, "I’ll go take a look."
She put down the knife in her hand and walked to the door.
Seeing this, Christopher followed her.
Outside the door, Malcolm and Gladys were standing there.
Malcolm glanced at the surroundings, he could not help exclaiming, "It seems that her grandfather-in -law is a big shot. Look at this area and this environment, not everyone can live here."
Gladys echoed, "You’re right. How lucky Janice is to marry into such a family."
"However, what should we say if we are to encounter Janice later?" Malcolm worried.
Gladys frowned and replied, "What else can we say? We came here to celebrate."
"Are you sure?"
"Why not? Will they drive us out?"
While they were still talking, the door was opened from the inside.
Seeing this, the two of them hurriedly tidied their clothes.
As expected, just when Janice opened the door, she saw Malcolm and Gladys. The two of them were dressed in formal attire and carrying the gift boxes. It was obvious what they were here for.
Janice frowned as she watched the two of them, so it really was them.
However, how did they find this place? Thinking of this, she walked out with a frown and pulled the two of them aside, asked, "Why are you here?"
After Malcolm and Gladys saw Janice, they were behaving a little unnatural, but Malcolm quickly sorted out his mood and said, "Your aunt and I heard that today is your grandpa’s birthday."
"Who did you hear from?" Janice was confused.
Malcolm and Gladys looked at each other, Gladys said unnaturally, "Just someone outside."
Janice stared at the two of them, slightly doubtful of their words, but that was not the main point.
The point was that they should not have come here. She said, "You can go back."
...
"Why? We’re already here," Gladys asked doubtfully.
"That’s right. Janice, your aunt and I are here. At least let us in."
Janice could not be bothered to explain, "Don’t say anything more. Just go."
"No, we’re already here," Malcolm said.
"That’s not up to you," Janice frowned.
As she spoke, she snatched the gift box from Malcolm’s hand directly and walked towards the car by the side of the road.
Malcolm and Gladys hurried to catch up, "Give it back to us."
Just as the three of them were entangling each other.
A black luxury car slowly drove over and stopped in front of them.
As the car door opened, Sophie helped Nathan to get out of the car.
When Janice saw the two of them got out of the car, she was stunned. Why were they here?
Malcolm and Gladys took the opportunity to snatch the gifts away, and hid behind Nathan and Sophie.
Seeing this, Janice was stunned. However, she thought of her father asked her for introducing him to Nathan. It would be troublesome if they knew that he was Nathan.
Thinking of this, Janice nodded towards Nathan, then stepped forward and said, "Come here."
"No," Malcolm and Gladys shook their heads desperately.
Because of Nathan and Sophie being here, Janice was anxious as she could not say anything.
Christopher then walked over, but he was obviously stunned after he glanced at the four people standing together. However, he recovered his calm quickly.
Walking over to Janice, he asked in puzzlement, "What’s going on?"
Janice did not know how was she going to explain it. She felt incredibly humiliated.
How could she have such a family? And, Sophie’s gaze that landed on her, making Janice feel embarrassed.
She bit her lip, then turned to Malcolm and Gladys, who was hiding behind Nathan.
"If you’re not leaving, then I will leave."
As she spoke, she turned around and opened the door to get in the car.
"I’m the one who invited them here," Nathan suddenly spoke.
Upon hearing this, Christopher and Janice froze on the spot. Especially, Janice, she looked at Nathan in disbelief.
However, she did not understand what Nathan said as he disliked her that much. Why would he invite her family over?
At this moment, Malcolm suddenly said, "So, you’re the in-laws? Nice to meet you. I’m Malcolm, Janice’s Father and the founder of the Gladwell Group."
As Malcolm spoke, he handed over a business card.
However, Nathan did not even take a glance at him.
Seeing Nathan ignored his name card, Malcolm then put it away awkwardly and found a way out of embarrassment, "That’s right, we’re all family. What’s the point of handing over a name card?"
As he spoke, he put the name card away, then looked at Janice and Christopher, "The in-laws’ secretary came to invite us to your grandpa’s birthday banquet that day. It was really not our initiative."
Hearing her father’s words, Janice was even more surprised and she could not help looking at Christopher.
Christopher knew that his father would not invite Janice’s family over for no reason. He frowned and said, "What are you doing?"
Hearing this, Nathan looked up and sneered, "Didn’t you say that you wanted to be with her? What’s wrong? Are you afraid?"
Without waiting for Christopher to speak, Nathan turned to Sophie and said, "Let’s go in."
