Flash Marriage: My Penniless Billionaire Husband
Chapter 40: Accidental Exposure
Janice disliked the way they leered at her. Although she was not wearing a revealing outfit, it still clearly showed her womanly shape.
Their gazes made her feel uncomfortable.
Tina basically described her as a social butterfly.
Janice finally couldn’t stand it anymore. She got rid of Tina and was about to leave.
Of course, Tina didn’t want her to leave so that she "accidentally" splashed the glass of wine on Janice’s chest.
Janice felt the wine flow down along her skin inside.
The wine soaked through her outfit in no time.
And left nothing to the imagination.
Janice felt awkward and quickly wrapped her arms around her body.
Tina immediately apologized with false sweetness and took a wet towel from the waiter to help wipe it. In fact, she didn’t try to be helpful but took the opportunity to expose her body even more.
Janice didn’t realize her actions and only cared about cleaning it up, while the onlookers had no scruples about watching the show.
At this moment, Christopher and Daniel entered. Both were dazzlingly handsome.
"Chris, look, as long as you appear, you will always attract everyone’s attention. You should be a model."
Daniel teased him.
Christopher glared at him and took a cup of cocktail from the waiter and shook it in his hand. Just as he was about to drink it, he caught a glimpse of a familiar figure.
In the crowd not far away, Janice was doing something in a panic and surrounded by a group of men. Those men were staring at her with obscene eyes. As a man, Christopher knew what they were thinking about.
He narrowed his eyes coldly, quickly put the cocktail in Daniel’s hand, and walked towards Janice.
Daniel was a little puzzled. However, when he saw Janice in the corner, he quickly followed him.
"I’m sorry, I didn’t do it on purpose."
Tina apologized with false sweetness.
But she didn’t know that a man was approaching.
The next second, Tina was pushed aside by someone. Then, Janice felt warm
because a black jacket was draped over her shoulder, covering her body.
Janice was pulled into warm arms. She raised her head and saw it was Christopher.
She was stunned.
Christopher?
Why was he here?
However, Christopher didn’t look at Janice. He held her tightly in his arms to prevent these men’s greedy eyes. He glanced at the men coldly and turned to Daniel, said, "I’ll leave this to you."
After that, he walked toward the door with Janice in his arms.
The men were shocked by Christopher’s aura. When he stood there, he was like an ice sculpture, which made them feel cold.
Just as they were about to run away, Daniel stopped them.
"Where are you going?"
...
As soon as Christopher and Janice left the party, Benjamin got out to chase them, only to find that they had already left.
"Was I mistaken just now?"
He saw Janice being taken away by a man just now.
He quickly called Janice.
"Christopher, slow down. Wait for me please."
On the way to the parking lot, Janice wore high heels and couldn’t catch up with him.
As she was about to take off her shoes, the phone rang. It was an unfamiliar number.
She still picked it up.
"Who is it?"
"It’s me."
Benjamin’s voice.
Janice asked, "What’s the matter?"
"Just now... are you okay?"
Benjamin asked. He also saw that situation. But he stood far away. Before he could go over, Janice was taken away by a man.
Janice was in no mood to talk to him. Seeing that Christopher had gone far, she quickly said, "I have to hang up."
Before hearing Benjamin’s answer, she hung up the phone.
Benjamin held the phone with his eyes slightly frowning.
Janice finally caught up with Christopher. He directly sat in the driver’s seat. Before Janice got in the car, she took a deep breath.
As she fastened her seatbelt, she discreetly glanced at Christopher.
He sat there without any intention of talking to her.
Janice pursed her lips and said cautiously, "Christopher, why are you here?"
Christopher didn’t answer her. Seeing that she had fastened her seat belt, he drove the car.
His silence made Janice feel nervous. After he left the party, he didn’t say a word and always kept a cold look. She didn’t know if he was angry.
She knew that she had lied to him before. She had said to do the interview task on the phone, but she appeared here.
Thinking of this, she felt more uncomfortable.
It was very quiet inside the car. There was no sound except for the engine. Janice, still wearing his jacket, was recalling the scene at the party just now. She had no idea what would have happened if he hadn’t arrived when he did.
Then she said, "Thanks for what you did for me just now."
However, Christopher still ignored her.
She originally wanted to find something to talk about, but it seemed that he didn’t want to talk to her at all.
She felt a little embarrassed.
"Christopher, are you angry?"
She bit her lips and finally asked.
Only then did he cast a cold glance at her. "Didn’t you say you were going to have an interview?"
His voice was emotionless.
But Janice knew that he was angry. After all, Christopher was usually very gentle.
Hearing his words, she puckered her lips.
"I said that in case you would misunderstand me."
She lowered her head.
Christopher sneered. "So what about just now?"
Then Janice explained, "The wine accidentally splashed on my dress."
"Do you drink?" Christopher asked.
Janice quickly shook her head.
Christopher snorted, "Since you don’t drink, why did you come to the party?"
...
Janice quickly explained, "It’s all for work. My manager made the decision at the last minute."
"Work? The work concerns wearing a revealing outfit and shuffling between different men?"
Christopher questioned her.
Hearing this, Janice was too angry to explain. Although it was wrong for her to lie to him, how could he say such a thing?
"What do you mean?"
Janice questioned.
Christopher snorted coldly. "You know exactly what I mean."
His words ignited her anger.
"I was finding sponsorships there and I take my job seriously. If you think my job is dirty, better not get your car dirty then! Stop the car right now!"
She said angrily.
Christopher didn’t answer her.
Seeing this, Janice grabbed the steering wheel and forced him to pull over.
Her sudden movement took him by surprise. For safety, he parked the car on the side of the road.
When the car stopped, Janice immediately opened the door and got out.
Christopher also got out of the car and chased after her.
"It’s late at night. What are you doing?"
Christopher caught hold of her arm.
Janice shrugged him away angrily.
"It’s none of your business. I’ll take a taxi back."
As she spoke, she tried to call a taxi. Christopher stopped her.
"Janice, please, look at you. You think that’s a good idea?"
Hearing his words, Janice was even angrier. "What’s wrong with me?"
Christopher glanced at her dress angrily.
Janice understood his glance.
She immediately shed the jacket and threw it into his arms. "Here you are."
Then she turned and walked to the sidewalk.
Christopher caught the jacket and quickly followed her.
"Put it on."
He put his jacket back on her.
Janice refused again.
"No."
"Enough is enough. Have you no shame?" Christopher was also angry.
Janice stopped and turned to look at him. She couldn’t believe that such harsh words had come out of his mouth.
"You’ve gone too far."
Tears rolled down her face.
How could he say such hurtful words?
Christopher’s heart immediately softened when he saw her tears.
"Go back to the car. Let’s talk after we go home."
He tried to grab Janice’s hand.
However, Janice dodged him.
In a fit of anger, Christopher stepped forward and carried her on his shoulder.
"Put me down. I don’t want to talk to you."
Janice resisted.
Christopher ignored her. He opened the car door and put her in.
Janice did not stop crying. The more she thought about it, the more aggrieved she felt. It was just a party. How could he be so mean?
Her tears panicked Christopher.
His greatest fear was seeing a woman’s tears. He handed her a tissue but was rejected.
He didn’t know what to do and tried to hold her in his arms.
However, Janice wriggled out of his embrace.
Back home, Janice rushed into her room and locked the door. Nino followed her into the room secretly.
She held Nino in her arms and thought aggrievedly, "In the TV station, I had no choice but to accept the director’s request. I didn’t end up getting a single sponsor, and then Tina made a fool out of me!"
