Foreign Land Reclamation By a Vegetable-growing Skeleton
Chapter 1995 - 1556: Can Anything Be Considered Valuable to a Branch Lord?
The Elf Star Descendants could never have anticipated that the information broker would invite a Branch Lord. At first, they were in disbelief, then overwhelmed with joy.
They struck gold, as if randomly asking someone on the road about magic problems, only to find that the person is a Truth Mage who even shares the secrets of magic you inquired about.
As for the other party’s identity, the Elf Star Descendants had no doubts, because of the Branch Pillar behind them.
Negris also mentioned in the Soul Network, "I was curious about what kind of Branch Pillar could make others unquestioningly accept your identity. Turns out, it’s the signatures of the stars."
The Branch Pillar behind Luomu Luo’er looked like a pillar of Star Flame, but each flame had subtle variations allowing the Star Descendants to easily distinguish them, akin to the signatures of God Stars.
A pillar of Star Flame signed with the signatures of God Stars can only be owned by a Branch Lord. Any other God Star wishing to collect it would not only need consent but would find it nearly impossible to traverse the entire branch to collect.
If you have the ability to traverse the entire branch unharmed, then you are a Branch Lord.
This kind of Branch Pillar is difficult to forge as well, because it might be easy to forge one or two Star Flames, but it’s extremely difficult to fake an entire pillar. If you have the ability to forge so many Star Flames, then you are a Branch Lord.
It’s somewhat like a ceremonial artifact, not enhancing power, with a tremendous collection difficulty, making active collection unrewarding.
But if you’re a Branch Lord, with stars in the branch actively offering, the collection difficulty is not very high. However, ’stars actively offering’ is the greatest challenge.
With the Branch Pillar standing there, the two Star Descendants did not doubt Luomu Luo’er’s identity, instead were shocked that Silver Coin could call upon a Branch Lord, and wondered which branch the Lord was from.
As this doubt arose, the two Elf Star Descendants couldn’t help but regret not spending thirty-six Star Flames to ask for the other’s identity.
Though thirty-six Star Flames weren’t worthwhile for an identity, if the person was a Branch Lord, then it would be worth it.
Main Star, why didn’t I buy it earlier? Is it possible to regret now?
Possible or not, they dared not show regret in front of a Branch Lord, instead quietly staying put, watching Silver Coin reporting to the other party and receiving their ’scrutiny’.
Luomu Luo’er’s Thought slowly swept over them, with a superior’s immeasurable pressure, involuntarily making them shudder.
If the Branch Pillar itself is not enough to certify the other’s identity, then this all-pervasive Thought is sufficient to prove their power. Possessing such Thought, if not a Branch Lord, they are a powerful God Star of Branch Lord level.
They watched Luomu Luo’er scanning them a few times, then say something to Silver Coin and retreated.
Ninety-six equivalents of Star Flame bought such a short scene, but the Elf Star Descendants felt it very worthwhile, even regretting not paying the additional thirty-six Star Flames, wishing they could now cling for the other’s identity information.
"Lord Silver Coin, I am willing to pay thirty-six Star Flames to purchase this Branch Lord’s information," the Elf Star Descendant said.
Silver Coin shook his head, "If you had bought it at the start, it was just a piece of news. Now if I tell you, it becomes me leaking the Branch Lord’s information, the meaning completely changes. Information is all about timing, once the timing passes, it turns into outdated information."
The Elf Star Descendants had long anticipated that Silver Coin would not possibly sell a Branch Lord’s identity information for just thirty-six Star Flames anymore, so they did not feel anything wrong, rather they felt it quite reasonable.
Before it was ordinary news, now the Branch Lord has already projected over, selling it is leaking information, with this realization, the two Elf Star Descendants silently vowed that they would purchase any information immediately upon seeing it.
Organizing their thoughts, the Elf Star Descendants returned to the initial question, "Did the Branch Lord mention whether the Land of the Infinity has reopened?"
"This is a Four Super Tier piece of news, do you really want to know?" Silver Coin asked.
"I do, may I ask how many Star Flames are required?" the Elf Star Descendant asked.
"For news at the Four Super Level, it’s not about Star Flames anymore, but rather what you can provide," Silver Coin said.
The Elf Star Descendants looked at each other puzzled, "What do you mean?"
Silver Coin explained, "You must know that Star Flames hold no value for God Stars, right?"
The Elf Star Descendants exchanged glances and nodded, confirming Silver Coin’s statement that Star Flames hold no value for God Stars. Which God Star lacks Star Flames? Star Flames are the basic component of God Stars, akin to money being meaningless to a bank because the bank prints money.
"We are trading Star Flames here just by using them as a common equivalent, setting prices for each piece of news, and then these Star Flames are absorbed by us. But at the Four Super Level, the news typically only holds meaning for God Stars, lacking significance for us. Does your Main Star need Star Flames?" Silver Coin asked.
Hearing this, Anthony discreetly gave Silver Coin a thumbs-up, as this question had a hidden pitfall. Although everyone speculated that these two Elf Star Descendants had God Stars supporting them, Silver Coin’s question sought to confirm the speculation.
The Elf Star Descendants did not detect the trap and shook their heads directly. Their Main Star certainly does not need Star Flames, so those hundred plus Star Flames aren’t even enough for the Main Star to sneeze.
Silver Coin continued, "So, for Four Super Level news we do not accept Star Flames. Do you possess anything that holds value for God Stars?"
The Elf Star Descendants looked at each other again, taking quite a while before saying, "We need to go back and discuss this."
Silver Coin gestured for them to proceed.
Seeing the Elf Star Descendants leave, Negris commented with disdain, "Feels so troublesome, they can’t decide, needing to go back and discuss, all the time spent on discussions."
Anthony rolled his eyes, "You think it’s the Mercenary Guild? Want news, just slip the money in, and a small paper note slips out? Truly valuable intelligence involves validating truth, discussing price, negotiating terms, going back and forth a dozen times is normal."
Silver Coin chuckled, "We didn’t come away empty-handed either; we have a hundred or more Star Flames."
Anthony turned to Luomu Luo’er to ask, "Being a God Star, is there anything you could find valuable that they can provide?"
Luomu Luo’er had just held the Branch Pillar projecting over and then retreated, next projecting into the original Star Descendant body, now shrinking to the side in Star Descendant form, responded:
"What could I find valuable... it’s quite difficult. Right now, I only want to stay far away from Exotic Ghosts; the location of Exotic Ghosts would be the most valuable to me."
