From Trash to Treasure: The Sinclair Family's Beloved Genius
Chapter 234: She’s the Only Sister I Have
Director Lancaster was utterly stunned.
His heart ached as he watched Chloe Sinclair lying in the mud.
Chloe Sinclair had perfectly captured the defiant look in Vivian’s eyes before her death.
Out of sheer defiance, her eyes remained wide open.
She didn’t have a single line, yet every glance, every movement, even the angle of her gaze, was packed with detail!
"Incredible. She managed to go three minutes without blinking in the rain."
Paul Lancaster watched the playback, his face a mask of astonishment.
He had been so stunned that he hadn’t called cut.
So, Chloe Sinclair hadn’t moved. Her eyes remained wide open as large raindrops fell into them and clung to her lashes.
But Chloe Sinclair was as still as if she couldn’t feel a thing, indistinguishable from a corpse.
Seeing Chloe Sinclair’s bloodshot eyes, Paul Lancaster said quickly, "Go rest for now. I’ll call you in five minutes."
With Chloe Sinclair’s most important scene wrapped, everyone breathed a sigh of relief.
Chloe Sinclair didn’t have many scenes left, and they managed to film all of them during the downpour.
Just as Chloe Sinclair’s part was wrapped, the rain began to taper off.
However, the crew had only set up temporary shelters, which had been all but destroyed by the hour-long downpour.
Fortunately, the tents were still intact. Chloe Sinclair rested for a while in a small one before heading down the mountain the next day.
To her surprise, however, the person driving her down the mountain today was Director Lancaster himself.
As if he knew what Chloe Sinclair was about to ask, Paul Lancaster spoke first. "Gabriel Sinclair hasn’t been able to break character yet. It’s a bit rough right now. He asked me yesterday to drive you down the mountain."
Chloe Sinclair didn’t refuse, but she was concerned about Gabriel Sinclair’s condition.
"Is my brother okay?"
Chloe Sinclair had also gotten deeply into character last night, but she was able to pull herself out of it quickly.
"He just needs some more time. Don’t worry, he’ll be fine. He’s just slow to break character."
Paul Lancaster recalled how devastated Gabriel Sinclair had looked after filming last night, and he was still shocked by it.
Gabriel Sinclair was the most naturally gifted and talented actor he had ever seen. He could tackle any role; he could even play a beggar with effortless skill.
But yesterday’s scene had left him stuck in character for the entire night.
"If my sister were gone, what would I do? She’s the only sister I have."
That was the first thing Gabriel Sinclair had said late last night after they finished filming.
Paul Lancaster hadn’t known Gabriel Sinclair had a sister. If he’d paid any attention at all, it was only to the recent rumors online about the real and fake heiresses that had caused such a stir.
Paul Lancaster didn’t fully understand Gabriel Sinclair’s feelings, but after spending the past few days with Chloe Sinclair, he could see why her brother doted on her like she was the apple of his eye.
’If I had a sister this lovely, well-behaved, and brilliant enough to shock the world with a casual theory, I’d probably dote on her just as much.’
"By the way, I’ve decided to delay the release of the promotional photos until today. Once I post them from the official account, please share it."
After saying that, Paul Lancaster gave Chloe Sinclair a heads-up. "There will definitely be some trolls online who raise questions. Don’t take it to heart."
Chloe Sinclair was doing this as a guest appearance, and since it was a tribute film, she hadn’t taken any payment.
Chloe Sinclair didn’t understand the convoluted ways of the entertainment industry, so she just nodded and made a mental note of it.
When they reached the foot of the mountain, Chloe Sinclair said goodbye to Paul Lancaster and prepared to wait by the road for a bus.
However, a figure suddenly appeared beside her.
Chloe Sinclair looked up and saw Ian Winters.
Ian Winters offered a polite smile. "Miss Sinclair, my boss would like to invite you to dinner."
