Chapter 121: Chapter 121: Bin Is Not That Kind of Person

A collapsed bed, one man, two women, and three pairs of dark circles under their eyes. These keywords instantly conjured up a number of... less-than-wholesome scenarios in Bai Yanni’s mind. She became instantly furious. ’And here I was, so worried about you! I came to visit you the moment you got back, but I never expected you’d go behind my back... behind my back and do something like this!’

"Shameless!" Bai Yanni cursed, spinning around and storming toward the shop door. She had already secretly made up her mind. From now on, she would keep a close eye on this store. The moment she found Shen Yibin doing anything illegal, she’d arrest him immediately and make him pay.

’He’s just a shameless scoundrel, isn’t he? So why do I feel so upset? And... a little bitter?’ Bai Yanni was suddenly unsure of her own feelings. ’What is going on with me?’

"Officer Bai, what’s wrong?" Shen Yibin hadn’t slept well last night thanks to Egg and Hah’Er’s antics. Now, first thing in the morning, he was getting an earful from Bai Yanni for no reason, leaving him completely baffled. He quickly stepped forward and grabbed her arm.

"Don’t you know what you’ve done? And you have the nerve to ask me?" From Bai Yanni’s perspective, the situation was perfectly clear. For Shen Yibin to still try and argue was the height of shamelessness.

Sylvie blinked her eyes, just as confused as Shen Yibin. ’Isn’t this police officer Shen Yibin’s friend? Why did she suddenly turn on him?’

Sun Qian, however, was starting to understand why Bai Yanni was angry. Although she’d never been in a relationship herself, her college roommates had been very experienced. Having picked things up by listening and watching, she had some understanding of these matters. Recalling the conversation between Shen Yibin and Bai Yanni, she quickly figured it out. ’Sigh, this is all just a misunderstanding.’

’That Officer Bai must have misunderstood...’ Sun Qian’s face turned slightly red, and she felt a little too embarrassed to continue the thought. ’Bin isn’t the kind of person you think he is! But if I try to explain, won’t that just make things look worse?’

’Ah, I’ve got it! Didn’t Sylvie take a video yesterday?’ Sun Qian immediately thought of a solution. She deliberately raised her voice and said, "Boss, Egg collapsed your bed last night. How about we punish it by not letting it have breakfast today?"

’Hm? Egg collapsed the bed? Who on earth is Egg?’ Bai Yanni’s gaze shifted to Sylvie. Since Sun Qian was the one who said it, Egg definitely wasn’t her. ’Could it be Sylvie? But why call her Egg? Is it because she has two... poached eggs?’ Bai Yanni’s eyes instinctively drifted to Sylvie’s chest, and she couldn’t help but feel a surge of envy. ’There’s no way you could call a pair that size poached eggs, right?’

Just then, Hah’Er came downstairs with its buddy. Sun Qian quickly waved. "Egg, come on down! No breakfast for you this morning!"

"Uh, so you’re saying *it* collapsed Bin’s bed?" Bai Yanni was instantly mortified. It seemed she had... let her imagination run wild. To hide her embarrassment, she quickly changed the subject. "Is this a new pet for the store? What kind of animal is it? It looks a bit like a raccoon to me." Her guess was the same as Sylvie’s had been.

"It’s not a raccoon, it’s a Japanese Raccoon Cat," Sylvie said, immediately putting the knowledge Shen Yibin had taught her to use. She then pulled out her phone. "Hey, Egg and Hah’Er were dancing on the boss’s bed yesterday. Not only did they keep us from getting a good night’s sleep, but they also collapsed the bed."

"Haha, who would’ve thought! These two chubby little guys are pretty entertaining when they dance." Bai Yanni couldn’t help but laugh when she saw the video Sylvie had filmed. She practically cried with laughter at the end, when Egg and Hah’Er bounced on Shen Yibin’s bed until it collapsed.

Poor Shen Yibin still hadn’t figured out why Bai Yanni had called him shameless earlier, or why she was suddenly so happy now. He just stood to the side, scratching his head in confusion. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦

"Bin, when you buy a new bed, you’d better get a sturdy one. Otherwise, these two will probably just collapse it again," Bai Yanni said after the video finished. The moment the words were out, she felt her face flush. ’A single young woman like me, discussing buying a bed with a man... why does this feel so strange?’

"I definitely need to get a sturdier one," Shen Yibin said, glaring at Hah’Er and Egg and grinding his teeth. ’If you two dare to cause trouble again tonight, I’ll break your legs.’ But then he looked at the two adorable rascals, and figured he probably wouldn’t be able to bring himself to do it even if they did.

He’d worry about tonight when it came. For now, he needed to buy himself a bed, or he’d be stuck on the sofa again. Sun Qian and Sylvie had to watch the store, so Shen Yibin’s gaze fell on Bai Yanni. "Officer Bai, are you on your day off? How about you help me pick one out? I’m terrible at shopping."

’She was so angry just now, she’s not going to refuse, is she?’ Shen Yibin worried. But Bai Yanni was just wondering how to clear up the misunderstanding with him, so when she heard his invitation, she immediately accepted. "Okay, no problem. Should we go now?"

It wasn’t until she was getting in the car that Bai Yanni felt something was a little off. A man and a woman going to buy a bed... isn’t that something only couples who are about to get married do when preparing for their new home? ’What’s the meaning of the two of them going now?’

"This one should be sturdy enough, right?" Once they got to the furniture store, Shen Yibin specifically sought out large, sturdy-looking beds, earning him repeated side-eyes from the salespeople. ’Young man, you and your girlfriend don’t look overweight. Are you really worried about the bed collapsing? Just how wild are you two?’

Shen Yibin was too slow on the uptake to notice the strange looks from the salespeople. But Bai Yanni was a police officer; how could she miss the suggestive glances in their eyes? She couldn’t help but glare back fiercely. ’It’s not what you think!’

After two whole hours of agonizing under countless strange stares, Bai Yanni finally helped Shen Yibin pick out a bed: a large, solid mahogany one guaranteed to withstand those two rascals, Egg and Hah’Er.

He had spent all his savings on the car last time, so he had to use his credit card for the bed. After paying, he didn’t even need the store to deliver it; he easily stuffed the large bed into the back of his Wuling Hongguang. By the time they returned to the store, it was almost lunchtime.

"Officer Bai, I’m planning on making salt-and-pepper snake today. I don’t know if you’re used to eating that?" To accommodate the newcomer, Egg, Shen Yibin’s recent menus had been rather unusual.

"No problem. I’ve had it before on business trips. It’s pretty good." Bai Yanni wasn’t the squeamish type.

He parked the car and was about to call Sun Qian and Sylvie to help him carry the bed upstairs, but when he looked up, he saw that the shop was bustling with activity.
