Game Invasion: 100x Evolution, From Weak to God
Chapter 103: Game Invasion
The money Fluffball borrowed online was not for food or entertainment.
It had never forgotten its grand ambition of conquering Earth, and it had thrown everything it had into that dream.
Room and Board Family was the result of those efforts.
Its crow underlings circled above New Kirk all day long. Given enough time, even blind luck could eventually catch an invading character slipping up.
Of course.
Recruiting those invading characters was not easy.
Fluffball had never expected instant success anyway.
Its philosophy was simple.
Better to target the wrong person than let one escape.
Whether there was a payoff or not, it would swing first and ask questions later.
Most people could not even be bothered with it.
Once an invading character was exposed, their first instinct was always to run.
Only when escape became impossible would they reluctantly fight back.
Most of the time, the crows could not keep up with them.
Only invading characters who had truly run out of options would choose to join Fluffball’s organization and become part of Room and Board Family.
Big Potato was one of them.
This unlucky guy had nearly starved to death on the streets.
What made it even more unbelievable was that he was actually an A Rank invading character.
Even Fluffball had trouble believing its luck when it picked up such a bargain.
But after learning about Big Potato’s situation, everything made sense.
Big Potato came from a game world.
And game worlds often had bizarre settings attached to them.
Big Potato happened to have several of those ridiculous restrictions.
First, he could not earn money through work.
Second, he could not eat food obtained through illegal or unreasonable means.
And so on.
Under those absurd game mechanics, he could not steal, could not rob, and could not work.
He did not dare seek help from shelters either, afraid his identity would be exposed.
In the end, he wandered the streets begging for food and nearly starved to death for real.
If Fluffball’s crows had not discovered him and given him a few steamed buns, he would already be dead.
After that, he joined Fluffball’s secret organization.
And became Fluffball’s most loyal top enforcer.
Why?
Three meals of steamed buns a day.
New Kirk, District B.
"Caw caw caw..."
A flock of crows circled overhead noisily, making pedestrians frown in annoyance.
A red haired young man in casual clothes stood by the roadside holding a bag of steamed buns.
Big Potato looked up at the office tower in front of him.
"XXX Online Loan Company. Should be this place."
He finished off more than ten steamed buns in two minutes, washed them down with bottled water, and walked into the building.
The appearance of his face shifted instantly into someone else’s.
Five minutes later.
Boom!
A violent explosion erupted on the twentieth floor of the office building.
The shockwave shattered the nearby windows as well.
Countless documents were torn into pieces and scattered into the air by the blast before drifting down onto the streets below.
The civilians panicked.
"Gas explosion?"
"What gas? This is an office building!"
"Move, move! What if it’s another disaster attack? Better stay away!"
A figure jumped straight down from the twentieth floor.
Boom!
He landed steadily on the ground, cracking the pavement beneath his feet.
Big Potato clapped his hands.
"Done."
Then he calmly walked away.
He had been fairly restrained.
Nobody got hurt.
He had only demolished the loan company itself.
Otherwise those Shieldbearers would come swarming like mad dogs, and shaking them off would be troublesome.
Click.
The sound of a camera shutter rang out.
Another carefree day.
Caelum squatted by the roadside holding a slice of watermelon while watching the excitement unfold.
Explosions echoed nonstop down the street, with visual effects flashy enough to rival a blockbuster movie.
The first disaster scene reporter to arrive was, once again, the same guy from before.
The moment he spotted Caelum’s familiar figure, he instinctively snapped another picture.
Caelum froze.
Then walked over.
"Buddy, once or twice I can let slide, but how many times has this been now? I know I’m handsome, but do you really have to keep taking pictures nonstop?"
"Uh, sorry."
The reporter laughed awkwardly and pulled out his press ID.
"Bro, I’m a disaster scene reporter. And let me tell you something. You’re famous online now."
"Huh?"
Caelum looked confused.
"What are you talking about?"
At that point, the reporter could not even be bothered covering the disaster anymore.
He pulled out his phone and opened the online news page he managed.
Right there was a photo of Caelum squatting by the roadside eating sunflower seeds.
Headline:
Disaster Spectator Never Misses an Appearance!
Caelum’s mouth twitched.
"Disaster Spectator..."
Honestly, the nickname was kind of unique.
It was his first time ever appearing in a news section.
Caelum was actually pretty pleased.
Sure, it was just online news, but it still counted as making a proper public appearance.
The comments section below was full of ridiculous netizens.
[What’s wrong with this guy? Is he not afraid of dying?]
[Why is he everywhere? Does he seriously have nothing better to do?]
[Truly worthy of the title Disaster Spectator. That pose radiates pure dominance.]
[Hold on, everyone. This guy keeps appearing at disaster sites. I have reason to suspect he might actually be the mastermind.]
[Solid logic. I support the guy above.]
There were even memes of Caelum.
In the edited image, he squatted by the roadside eating sunflower seeds while wearing a white tank top and flip flops, with the words Disaster Spectator floating above his head.
The vibe was indescribable.
Caelum’s face darkened.
The image was unbearable to look at.
And for the record, he never wore flip flops.
He handed the phone back to the reporter and walked away irritably.
Rumble!
Suddenly, the ground beneath his feet shook.
Caelum stopped walking.
A deep look flashed through his eyes before surprise appeared on his face.
He found it genuinely interesting.
"Game invasion."
This invasion was completely different from previous ones.
The scale and level involved were beyond anything seen before.
Rumble!
The ground shook again.
The entire city of New Kirk fell silent.
An overwhelming pressure descended out of nowhere, casting a shadow over everyone’s hearts.
At that exact moment.
The disaster alarms inside New Kirk’s DMB went insane.
Energy readings skyrocketed.
The monitoring staff stared at the numbers with shrinking pupils and numb terror.
S Rank!
SS Rank!
SSS Rank!
Beyond SSS Rank!
If not for his mental fortitude, the operator would have passed out on the spot.
Actually, he would rather have blacked out than witness something this horrifying.
Beyond SSS Rank?!
How the hell were they supposed to fight that?!
Earth was finished!!!
The highest level alarms blared nonstop.
The branch director and upper management rushed over like lunatics.
Then all of them froze in front of the disaster monitoring data.
Rumble!
A gigantic vortex appeared above New Kirk with a thunderous roar. 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂
Immediately afterward, buildings throughout the city began tearing free from the ground as though pulled upward by invisible force.
Countless structures floated through the sky in chaotic spirals, randomly recombining with each other.
At the same time, strange buildings of wildly different styles descended from the vortex and merged into New Kirk’s reconstruction.
Even New Kirk’s DMB building itself was caught in the process.
Van stared helplessly at the scene unfolding before him.
Compared to the power of the vortex in the sky...
He was far too weak.
