Game Invasion: 100x Evolution, From Weak to God
Chapter 65: Above S Rank
The S Rank beast swung one massive claw down at Caelum and roared,
"Give me back my luck!"
Inside Caelum’s pocket, Fluffball watched the show with great amusement.
No wonder Caelum had called this thing his relative.
Honestly, there was a resemblance.
Caelum’s expression did not change.
"I knew it."
This booth owner was a sore loser.
Just as Caelum was about to kill the little thing, a figure stepped in front of him.
The middle aged man in suit pants and a white dress shirt tore off his tie and wrapped it around his fist.
Then he charged forward without hesitation.
"Kid, run! We won’t hold it for long!"
The moment the owner revealed its true form, the man knew this thing was definitely not just A Rank.
It was very likely a legendary S Rank disaster.
Even so, he still had to fight.
Caelum paused.
He actually wanted to say there was no need.
He could handle it himself.
But several other Shieldbearers had already rushed in as well, joining the fight against the S Rank beast.
No.
Calling it a fight was generous.
They were getting beaten half to death.
Boom!
The middle aged man was sent flying backward and crashed into a shop nearby. The massive impact instantly reduced half the street’s storefronts to rubble.
"Hiss... damn it!"
He climbed out while grimacing in pain.
When he turned and saw Caelum still standing there without moving, he was about to shout another warning.
Then an intense energy fluctuation filled the air.
Visible purple light gathered inside the S Rank beast’s mouth.
"Get out of the way, brat! Give me back my luck!"
It swatted away one A Rank Shieldbearer that was trying to hold it down, then fired a blazing energy cannon straight at Caelum without hesitation.
The middle aged man’s pupils shrank.
"Run!"
Boom!
Caelum carried several shopping bags in one hand.
With his free hand, he casually lifted his palm and stopped the S Rank beast’s energy cannon head on.
The scattered energy sprayed everywhere, destroying everything nearby in seconds.
A small vortex appeared in Caelum’s palm and rapidly absorbed every bit of the energy cannon.
If that blast had been allowed to spread, it would have flattened all of New Kirk.
This beast was an S Rank disaster after all.
It was no joke.
"Ah choo!"
Caelum even sneezed as if nothing had happened.
The middle aged man froze.
The other badly injured A Rank Shieldbearers also stared as if they had seen a ghost.
He blocked an S Rank disaster’s energy attack with one hand?
The beast was startled.
It had not used its full power, sure.
But even an S Rank player should never have been able to block that attack so easily.
Was it really this unlucky?
Had it run into some hidden monster here?
Then it remembered that all of its luck had just been drained dry.
A chill shot through the beast.
Yes.
Right now, it absolutely was that unlucky.
The moment it realized this, the S Rank beast turned and fled without hesitation.
Buzz.
Powerful energy fluctuations surged wildly.
The vortex in Caelum’s palm kept spinning, compressing all the absorbed energy until it shrank to the size of a marble.
Feeling that it still lacked a little punch, he added a bit of cosmic energy into it himself.
The next second...
Boom!
The marble sized energy shot out instantly, piercing through the S Rank beast’s body with terrifying speed before continuing toward the distant sky.
It flew straight into outer space and exploded into a brilliant storm of energy.
At the same time, every disaster monitoring agency across the world went insane with alarms.
The strength of the energy reaction was enough to give everyone a heart attack.
Van, who was rushing toward the scene, brushed past the energy shot.
Just the scattered force alone knocked him out of the sky and sent him crashing into a residential district below.
The S Rank beast stared at the massive hole in its chest and sighed deeply.
"Unlucky."
Then its gigantic body was torn apart from within by the violent energy, exploding into countless pieces.
Fluffball shrank his neck at the sight.
A cold chill shot straight to his head.
Compared to this unlucky bastard’s fate, the fact that he had survived Caelum back then was practically a miracle.
In truth, Caelum held no prejudice against invaders.
He treated everyone and everything the same.
As long as they did not provoke him or damage his home, he usually did not care.
His temper in the real world was quite good.
He did not let loose here the way he did inside game worlds.
After all, Earth was the only one they had.
If it got blown up, that would be the end of it.
If this S Rank beast had not been such a sore loser, Caelum would not have bothered attacking it at all.
"..."
"..."
"..."
The surroundings fell into an eerie silence.
Several A Rank Shieldbearers had just witnessed an S Rank disaster get killed instantly.
Their worldview was still being rebuilt.
Caelum took a few drops of holy water filled with abundant life force from the Star of the Infinite and sprinkled them over the injured Shieldbearers.
Their severe wounds healed immediately.
After all, they had been hurt because of him.
This counted as thanks.
Caelum looked at the middle aged man.
"What’s your name?"
The man answered instinctively.
"Xero."
When he looked again, Caelum had already disappeared.
A streak of rainbow light shot in from the distance.
Van finally arrived.
He looked a little battered as he stared at the devastated shopping street.
Only powerful residual energy remained.
The S Rank disaster itself was already gone.
"Can someone tell me what just happened here?"
Half an hour later.
A meeting was being held at the New Kirk DMB.
The central figure of the discussion was Caelum, whose detailed profile was displayed on the large screen.
Those attending included the director of the New Kirk DMB branch, Van representing headquarters, Xero the Shieldbearer who had personally witnessed the battle, and Zoe, the official New Kirk DMB player.
She was the silver haired girl.
The New Kirk branch director spoke first, his expression extremely serious.
"This is the energy reaction intensity recorded at the disaster site half an hour ago. One source was S Rank. The other was SS Rank."
SS Rank meant a level of power capable of destroying an entire continental plate.
Van asked,
"Are we certain it was only SS Rank?"
"No."
The branch director shook his head.
"He is currently inside New Kirk, yet our monitoring systems have no reaction to him at all. If he had not acted during this incident, we might still have no idea he existed. It is difficult to determine whether that was his true strength."
"Then classify him as provisional SS Rank for now. Highest confidentiality. I will report this to headquarters."
Then the branch director turned toward Xero and Zoe.
"Tell us what kind of person he is."
Xero thought for a moment.
"He seemed like a pretty friendly young man. Didn’t look aggressive at all. But once he acted, he was extremely decisive. One strike, instant kill."
The director looked at Zoe.
Zoe’s summary was simple.
"He can be communicated with."
"In that case..."
Van thought for a moment before saying,
"I’ll take people to speak with him tomorrow. If possible, I’d like to get him to join the DMB."
After all, as far as he knew...
Caelum was the first player in the world to surpass S Rank.
Van still remembered that energy shot passing him by.
That was power strong enough to make even his soul tremble.
Even an S Rank like him had absolutely no ability to resist it.
In reality...
Van’s efforts were doomed to fail.
Caelum was currently far too comfortable living without restraints.
Trying to tie him down was nothing short of fantasy.
Even creating the world was probably easier.
Not even a nominal position would work.
No door.
Not even a window.
