Genius Girl is the Big Shot's Beloved Treasure
Chapter 1054: A Wonderful Birthday
"I know, Jin Cheng, it’s just that every time I see my teacher, I feel this way. You don’t have to comfort me; I’ll be better tomorrow." Lu Xingzhi knew everything, including what her teacher meant.
But being human is about having emotions.
She couldn’t suppress the sadness, and there was no need to pretend to be happy.
But she wouldn’t deliberately be dispirited either.
"That’s good." Huo Jincheng didn’t say much more, leaving Lu Xingzhi to process it on her own.
Giving her time to be alone for a while.
In the evening, knowing Lu Xingzhi wasn’t in the mood for much, he prepared a simple meal of vegetable porridge and some light pastries for her.
--
As expected, after a night’s sleep, Lu Xingzhi had recovered by the next day.
Though the matter with Bertrand saddened her, she had to continue with her life.
Lu Xingzhi had thought many times of accompanying Bertrand, but he didn’t want to see her and didn’t allow her to visit.
He didn’t want to be seen as a patient by her.
During Christmas, Lu Xingzhi had several performances across multiple countries.
Huo Jincheng accompanied her, even spending his thirtieth birthday abroad.
However, the birthday was truly wonderful.
He was very satisfied with the experience.
He even thought that he could spend all his birthdays like this in the future.
Simple, just spending the day with Lu Xingzhi.
But on that day, she let him do whatever he wished.
They were busy until just before the New Year, when Lu Xingzhi and Huo Jincheng finally returned to their country.
They returned from the United States, and while in the departure lounge, Lu Xingzhi saw a familiar figure, but when she looked again, it was gone.
Maybe she was mistaken, Lu Xingzhi thought.
"Zhi Zhi, what are you looking at?" Huo Jincheng asked.
"I thought I saw someone I knew, but upon thinking about it, I realized I must be mistaken." Lu Xingzhi replied.
"Who did you think it was?" Huo Jincheng asked casually.
"I thought it looked like Fu Yanzhi, but I don’t think it’s possible. It was just a momentary glimpse, and Fu Yanzhi wouldn’t walk that fast." Lu Xingzhi chuckled, so she assumed she had seen wrong.
"Fu Yanzhi?" Huo Jincheng pondered for a moment, "Probably not."
He said this, not as a certainty, but to avoid causing Lu Xingzhi any panic.
This person might have just been someone Lu Xingzhi mistook for Fu Yanzhi, possibly a lookalike, or it could very well have been the real Fu Yanzhi.
If it was the latter, it would mean that Fu Yanzhi had regained his ability to walk.
Huo Jincheng didn’t dismiss this possibility, and he was preparing to investigate.
These past few months, it seemed they might have been searching in the wrong direction.
That’s why they hadn’t been able to find Fu Yanzhi.
He might have attended Zhi Zhi’s concert; although the staff said no one with mobility issues or in a wheelchair had entered the hall.
"Hmm, let’s go!" Lu Xingzhi didn’t think much further; her only thought was to hurry back home now.
"Finally, we can take a break now, right?" Sitting on the plane, Huo Jincheng looked at Lu Xingzhi’s pointed chin and felt a bit tender-hearted.
"Yes, we can. But after returning, there’s a charity concert. I only need to play one piece. It’s a collaboration with more than ten well-known artists in the country. It’s on the twenty-third." Lu Xingzhi didn’t mind.
Moreover, Xiao Zulinqing had arranged it for her.
