Genshin Impact: Joining the Genius Society
Chapter 303: “Welt: ‘You know about Honkai too?!’”
An Emanator of Propagation.
If the Doomsday Beast earlier required them to get serious—
Then now, facing an Emanator,
They had to start thinking about how to retreat.
"An Emanator?"
Stelle mimicked Himeko’s shocked expression.
"Hey... you barely even understand Paths yet. Do you even know what an Emanator is?"
March 7th looked at her speechlessly.
"I don’t!"
Stelle answered honestly.
Welt Yang, who had just arrived,
Saw the Propagation Emanator sweeping through outer space—
And immediately felt numb.
The Doomsday Beast was manageable.
But an Emanator?
Was this a joke?
And not even a Destruction Emanator—
But one of Propagation.
If Destruction inspired disgust,
Then Propagation inspired fear.
Even now, the damage caused by the Antimatter Legion
Couldn’t compare to the devastation of the ancient swarm.
The Aeon of Propagation had once been besieged by multiple Aeons.
But Nanook never received that kind of treatment.
That alone showed just how terrifying Propagation truly was.
"Strange... that Propagation Emanator doesn’t seem to intend to attack us."
Looking at Skaracabaz hovering in space,
Himeko felt puzzled.
It wasn’t attacking,
Nor was it following its instinct to reproduce.
This Emanator... was abnormal.
"That’s because I raised it."
"So of course it won’t attack anyone here." 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺
Seeing how much pressure the creature was putting on the Astral Express crew,
Su Ran casually sent it away.
"Hello, I’m Himeko, navigator of the Astral Express."
Himeko looked at Su Ran with surprise.
Especially after hearing that the Emanator was raised by him—
Her shock deepened.
What kind of person could raise an Emanator?
Aren’t Emanators supposed to be chosen by Aeons—
Granted power through their gaze and blessing?
"Su Ran. A somewhat talented inventor."
"Forgive my ignorance, but I’ve never heard your name before."
Himeko searched her memory,
But found nothing.
Even among the Genius Society—
No such name came to mind.
"How could that be? I thought the whole universe already knew I’m Number 85."
"That’s because Number 85’s real name was never made public. My apologies!"
Now Himeko finally understood who he was.
The recently famous new member of the Genius Society—
The one whose invention even Nous couldn’t fully analyze.
And now—
He had even cultivated an Emanator.
That was beyond shocking.
At the very least,
From the Astral Express’s perspective, His strength was unquestionable.
"No need to be so polite. I’m not interested in formalities—just talk normally."
He did enjoy hearing Kamisato Ayaka call him "my lord"—
But that was their private dynamic.
With outsiders, normal conversation was better.
"Then I’ll follow your lead."
It had to be said—
Being a Genius Society member was incredibly useful.
Anywhere you went, you were treated like a prized guest.
Except for a few rare factions,
Almost no one would refuse someone like that.
As for Himeko—
She knew someone like him wouldn’t join the Astral Express on its journeys.
So she didn’t even bother extending an invitation.
"May I ask something?"
After confirming the Emanator had left,
Welt finally walked over calmly.
He had expected a battle—
But now it seemed things had ended peacefully.
Still, upon seeing Su Ran,
He felt something... strange.
"Sir, have you ever been to a planet called Earth?"
"Earth? Why ask that? Have we met before?"
Welt’s question surprised Su Ran.
He had been to the Honkai world.
But he had never met Welt.
So why ask this?
"No. I’ve never seen you, nor heard of you."
"But I have a feeling... that in my homeland’s past, you should have appeared."
It was a baseless feeling.
Even Welt couldn’t explain it.
"That’s quite an interesting statement... traveling from the future to the past?"
That would be the power of Terminus.
Welt’s words surprised even Su Ran.
Logically speaking,
By this point, Honkai on Earth should already be mostly resolved.
There was no reason for him to go there.
Yet Welt claimed—
He should have existed in the past?
"Uncle Yang... we’re all adults here. Can you not say things like that? There’s no way a Genius Society member would believe something so baseless."
Even March 7th thought Welt was being ridiculous.
It just sounded too absurd.
Look at Welt’s age,
Then look at Su Ran’s.
When Welt left Earth,
Su Ran probably hadn’t even been born yet.
How could he have been there?
"But unfortunately... I believe it."
Sometimes,
Scientists were the ones most willing to trust intuition.
Welt’s claim sounded absurd—
Completely unreliable.
Yet Su Ran believed him.
The reason was simple—
Welt’s homeland was a world full of stories.
If given the chance,
Su Ran wouldn’t mind visiting it.
He had thought there would be no intersection.
But Welt’s words rekindled that thought.
"Can I study you?"
"!!!"
Welt took a step back immediately,
Looking at him with full vigilance.
Even Himeko frowned.
"Don’t misunderstand. I’m not planning any human experiments."
"I’m just curious whether your intuition comes from some special method... or if your memory originally contained traces of me, but was blocked for some reason."
In simple terms—
Su Ran wanted to check whether his future self had interfered with Welt’s memory.
If so,
He might be able to glimpse information about the future.
"If ’study’ sounds unpleasant, we can call it a physical examination instead."
"And besides... I’m quite interested in Honkai."
Welt: !!!
...Did he just hear the word Honkai?
