Realizing this made him feel deeply ashamed.

Taking a deep breath, James rubbed his forehead helplessly.

"I was so damn wrong..." he muttered weakly. "Now that you’re pointing everything out, it feels like every mistake was mine."

Lana chuckled softly. "Of course not."

Her tone remained gentle instead of accusatory.

"Some things were also Gwen’s fault. When she became upset, she should’ve communicated more clearly instead of bottling everything up. She overreacted a little."

Then her gaze sharpened slightly. "But she failed because you failed first."

James froze again. "So rather than blaming her entirely, you should reflect on yourself too."

Then Lana suddenly narrowed her eyes suspiciously.

"I’m pretty sure Gwen must’ve sent you messages saying things like, ’You’re being inconsiderate,’ or ’Please try to understand my feelings better.’"

The moment she said those exact words, James’s eyes widened in absolute shock.

He genuinely began wondering whether Lana had somehow secretly read his messages.

Seeing his stunned expression, Lana immediately realized she had guessed correctly and became speechless internally.

Meanwhile, Mr. Crow burst into laughter inside her mind. "You truly understand human emotions frighteningly well."

Ignoring him, Lana calmly continued.

"At times like this, you needed to reassure your girlfriend properly. You should’ve explained your thoughts to her honestly instead of leaving her alone with her insecurities."

James suddenly stood up from his chair. "I’ll go explain everything to her right now."

However, Lana immediately shook her head before standing up as well. "No."

James blinked in confusion.

"You stay here."

Then she picked up the plate containing waffles before smiling lightly. "First, it’s my turn."

With that, she turned and walked away.

James could only sit there speechlessly. Part of him wanted to stop Lana from interfering further.

Yet at the same time, he trusted her completely.

Meanwhile, Lana arrived outside Gwen’s hotel room and gently knocked on the door.

Almost instantly, Gwen’s irritated voice shouted from inside.

"I’m not in the mood to listen to anything right now, so just leave me alone!"

Hearing the anger in her voice, Lana sighed softly.

At that moment, Mr. Crowe lazily spoke inside her mind.

"Why are you even involving yourself in this? They’re a couple. Give them time and they’ll eventually figure it out themselves."

Lana remained silent briefly. Then her gaze softened slightly.

"Maybe," she admitted inwardly. "But when I see someone suffering through the same emotions I once experienced... I can’t just ignore it."

Her fingers lightly tightened around the plate she was holding. "Besides..."

Her expression dimmed faintly.

"I don’t want the tragedies from my previous life to repeat themselves again in this life."

With that thought in mind, she knocked once more. This time, the door was yanked open violently.

"I already said I don’t want to lis..."

Gwen abruptly stopped mid-sentence the moment she saw Lana standing outside.

For several seconds, she simply froze. Meanwhile, Lana smiled brightly. "Hi."

The sudden friendliness completely caught Gwen off guard.

Awkwardly, she stepped aside. Lana immediately walked inside without hesitation.

The moment she entered, she casually glanced around the room before smiling again.

"Wow, your room looks beautiful."

Gwen could not help looking amused. "Everyone has the exact same room."

Lana shook her head seriously. "No."

Then she pointed lightly around the room. "A person’s room often reflects their heart."

The moment she heard those words, Gwen froze slightly. She immediately understood the hidden meaning behind them.

Seeing Lana acting so warm and approachable made it impossible for her to remain fully angry.

Finally, Gwen sighed tiredly before looking directly at her.

"Look, I know you don’t have feelings for James, and honestly, I do understand that." 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞

Her voice sounded quieter now.

"But that doesn’t mean I can calmly smile and chat with you whenever I feel insecure."

Lana nodded immediately. "I completely understand."

Then she suddenly raised her hand dramatically and spoke in an exaggerated tone.

"If I were in your position, I would’ve slapped my own face already and screamed, ’Bitch, leave my boyfriend alone!’"

The moment Lana acted out the fake angry scene, complete with an exaggerated furious expression, Gwen almost burst into laughter while looking at Lana’s exaggerated expression.

The fake angry face she had made moments earlier was simply too ridiculous to maintain any serious mood.

Shaking her head helplessly, Gwen muttered, "Now I understand why James likes you so much."

The moment those words left her mouth, Lana immediately sensed the faint trace of sorrow hidden beneath them.

Without saying anything, she gently held Gwen’s hand and slowly pulled her toward the bed.

"Come on," Lana said softly. "Why don’t I tell you a story first?"

Gwen looked slightly confused, but she still sat down beside her quietly.

Then, without hiding anything, Lana began telling her everything that had happened between herself and James from the very beginning.

She spoke about how James had first admired her after she saved him, how dark his past was, and how he lacked love during his childhood years.

By the time Lana finished speaking, Gwen’s eyes had widened slightly in surprise.

Lana smiled faintly before continuing.

"James doesn’t actually understand his own feelings properly," she said calmly. "Right now, he only thinks he likes me."

Then she lightly tapped Gwen’s forehead.

"But in reality, what he feels isn’t romantic love. It’s an attachment. He feels safe around me, so his emotions become confused."

Gwen lowered her eyes quietly.

"Only you would think like that," she murmured softly.

Even though she tried hiding it, the sorrow lingering inside her eyes still remained.

Lana naturally noticed it.

"How about this?" Lana suddenly suggested gently. "Give him one more chance. Just listen to what he truly wants to say first."

Then her expression turned serious. "But if he hurts you again after that, then leave him."

Gwen blinked in surprise. Lana shrugged casually.

"The world is huge. There are countless men out there. Why force yourself to stay trapped in a painful cycle?"

The moment she heard those words, Gwen looked completely stunned.

"I thought you came here to convince me to forgive him," she admitted honestly.
