Giant Dragon Lord: Starting from Daily Intelligence
Chapter 337 - 321: Subduing the Hill Giants
It was high noon, and most of the Hill Giants in the camp were gathered around a bonfire.
They were generally around ten meters tall, with skin the color of grayish-brown rock. They wore only simple Beast Hides.
Some of these big fellows were dozing, others were sharpening their Weapons with huge Stone Axes, but most were craning their necks, staring eagerly at their lunch that was taking forever to roast, letting out impatient roars from time to time.
Raylo withdrew his gaze, in no hurry.
He swung himself off Baofeng’s back and leisurely took out the food prepared by the cook, Marlin, from his Spatial Bag.
"Time to eat."
The words had barely left his mouth when two playful shadows that had been frolicking nearby darted to his feet.
Moonlight deftly snatched a fat goose that was roasted to a greasy, golden-brown.
Coal Ball followed close behind, grabbing the other goose with its front paws. The two little ones scampered over to a large rock and began to devour their meal without even looking up.
Sun ambled over as well, its golden eyes filled with a hint of anticipation.
It wasn’t as obsessed with the taste of food as Moonlight and Coal Ball, but ever since it had a taste of the cooking from Black Stone Territory’s Marlin, even this disciplined Giant Dragon couldn’t resist.
Raylo chuckled and took out a massive slab of meat on an iron platter.
It was a rack of Giant Lizard ribs, as large as half a door, roasted to a tempting caramel color. The surface was evenly glazed with a glistening layer of maple syrup. The rich, sweet aroma of the meat aggressively assaulted Sun’s nostrils.
A low rumble emanated from Sun’s throat.
It lowered its head and cautiously extended its tongue, giving the slab of meat a gentle lick.
The sweetness of the maple syrup, the spice of the seasonings, and the savoriness of the meat juices instantly exploded on its taste buds.
A single, glistening drop of liquid slid from the corner of Sun’s mouth and fell onto the grass below.
Raylo couldn’t help but laugh at the sight and patted its foreleg.
"Go on, eat up. We need our strength for the work ahead."
Sun cast aside its reserve, opened its great maw, and began to enjoy the feast.
The lunch was deeply satisfying.
Raylo wiped his hands while Moonlight and Coal Ball lay contentedly on the rock, licking their paws.
Sun had also finished its massive slab of meat and was now staring at the empty iron platter, clearly wanting more.
Raylo glanced down at the Giant Camp below. The Mammoth was still turning slowly over the fire; it looked like it was still a long way from being fully cooked.
Raylo decided not to wait any longer.
He stood up, the leisurely look in his eyes vanishing completely.
He swung himself onto Baofeng’s back.
The Golden Dragon dispelled its Transformation Magic. Its massive body unfurled, and its golden wings stirred up a fierce gale that made the surrounding trees sway.
"Attack!"
Sun beat its Sun Wings, its enormous body soaring into the air, blotting out the afternoon sun and casting a huge shadow on the ground below.
Dragon Mighty washed over the camp below like a physical tide.
Baofeng roared, its four hooves digging in as it launched itself from the hillside like an arrow loosed from a bow, soaring toward the Giant Camp.
Meanwhile, this sudden turn of events instantly roused the dozing Hill Giants by the bonfire.
They raised their heads in a daze, only to find the sky above them shrouded by the shadow of a Giant Dragon.
After a moment of shock, a heaven-shaking roar erupted.
The entire Hill Giant camp erupted into chaos.
The Dragon Mighty, like a landslide or a tsunami, instantly crushed the entire camp.
The Hill Giants who had been waiting for lunch dropped their Stone Axes and Bone Staffs with a CLATTER. Some of the weaker ones even felt their legs give out and collapsed to the ground, their grayish-brown skin taking on an unnatural, ashen hue.
"ROAR!"
A distinctly different roar exploded, filled with the fury of being challenged.
A Hill Giant Leader, over fifteen meters tall with muscles as gnarled as mountain rock and a necklace of huge beast fangs around its neck, shot up from its spot by the bonfire.
It snatched up a Wolf Fang Club carved from an entire massive tree and fixed its bloodshot eyes on the ever-growing shadow in the sky. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞
Sun didn’t give them any more time to react.
Its enormous draconic body dove down with a speed that defied its size. When it was still a dozen meters from the ground, its huge Dragon Tail whipped out with a shriek that tore through the air.
"BANG! BANG! BANG!"
Three Hill Giants who had tried to charge were sent flying like pebbles. Before they could even scream, they became three parabolas of broken bones, crashing into the distant huts and kicking up a spray of shattered stone and wood.
Before the dust could settle, Sun landed with a thunderous crash.
Its four claws slammed into the ground with a deafening thud, making the entire camp tremble.
It held its head high, its pale golden dragon eyes devoid of any emotion—only pure majesty and destruction.
"Domain: Solar Furnace!"
Sun threw back its head and let out a dragon’s roar.
A visible golden halo abruptly expanded outward with Sun’s body at its center.
The air was instantly ignited, growing scorching and distorted.
The green grass on the ground quickly withered, blackened, and finally turned to ash.
The simple huts began to emit black smoke, and spiderweb-like cracks appeared on the surface of the hard rock.
It was as if the entire world had been dragged into a massive Melting Furnace, where light and heat were the only masters.
The remaining Hill Giants in the camp let out agonized wails.
They felt like insects thrown into boiling oil. A stinging, burning pain spread across their skin, and every breath of air was like swallowing blades.
Even more terrifying, the omnipresent pressure of the Domain made it incredibly difficult for them to even lift their arms, suppressing seventy to eighty percent of their brute strength.
