Global Descent: I Alone Can See Hidden Evolution Paths
Chapter 19: Teleportation Breach and the Iron Duchess
Inside the pristine, matte-black interior of the Iron Citadel’s command center, Min-jae focused his consciousness entirely on his personal status interface. The massive avalanche of experience points from the outer tower slaughter had finally pushed him over the threshold.
[Ding! You have leveled up! You are now Level 7!]
[Gained 10 Free Attribute Points.]
[Current Status: Void Space Affinity (Latent) has met the required energy parameters.]
Min-jae didn’t hesitate. He dumped all 10 free attribute points directly into his Intelligence parameter, forcing his mana pool to expand exponentially. The latent cosmic seed within his soul ruptured, flooding his nervous system with a cool, weightless spatial energy.
[Ding! Void Space Affinity has successfully awakened into an active combat skill: ’Spatial Void Phase’ (Rank S)!]
[Description: Allows the host to instantly teleport himself and up to three designated party members to any coordinate within a 5-mile radius, bypassing all physical barriers, magical wards, and structural density. Cost: 50 Mana.]
"We don’t need the Dreadnought to get there," Min-jae said, his voice flat and absolute as he turned toward his three stunning companions. He held out his right hand, his palm humming with a faint, localized vortex of purple spatial light. "Hold onto my shoulders."
Yoo Ji-a stepped forward instantly, her slender, athletic frame pressing lightly against his right arm as her long legs flexed with anticipation. Han Seo-yoon stepped to his left, her voluptuous curves brushing against his side as her white silk dress shifted, her sapphire eyes locked onto his face with complete, fanatical devotion. Han Chae-won grabbed his tactical belt from behind, giggling with pure excitement.
"Coordinate locked: National Military Command Bunker, Central Strategy Room," Min-jae murmured internally. "Execute Spatial Void Phase."
Voom!.
A localized shockwave of violet spatial energy swallowed their figures. In a fraction of a millisecond, the air in the penthouse penthouse imploded, leaving behind nothing but a small vacuum pop.
Three miles west, deep within the subterranean depths of the reinforced military bunker, absolute despair had taken root.
The air was heavy with the thick, metallic stench of fresh blood and ozone. The primary ventilation shafts had been completely torn open, the heavy steel grates twisted like tin foil. Crawling along the concrete ceiling was a terrifying, twelve-foot-long abomination— a Level 15 Void Stalker (Calamity Variant). Its body was a mass of shifting, pitch-black shadow tendrils, countless chattering human-like teeth, and eight glowing crimson optical lenses.
On the blood-stained floor of the strategy terminal, a dozen elite military guards lay torn to shreds, their high-tech automatic rifles discarded and broken.
Standing alone behind a shattered steel tactical table was Major General Shin Ye-rin. She was a breathtaking, elite beauty of nineteen— the youngest general in the country’s history, elevated due to her legendary S-Rank strategic talent. She possessed sharp, fiercely disciplined features, short, raven-black hair cut into a sleek asymmetrical bob, and a pair of cold, steel-gray eyes that refused to shed a tear even in the face of death. Her pristine olive-drift military officer’s uniform was torn at the shoulder, revealing her smooth, pale collarbone, while the tight fabric of her uniform perfectly accentuated her remarkably narrow waist and surprisingly voluptuous, mature curves.
In her shaking hands, she held a standard-issue military pistol, her final magazine loaded with low-tier mana bullets. Her S-Rank talent, Sovereign’s Tactical Fortress, was completely exhausted from trying to maintain the bunker’s collapsing external defensive wards.
"Screeech!"
The Void Stalker let out a high-pitched, psychological shriek that caused Ye-rin’s ears to bleed. It dropped from the ceiling, its massive shadow claws descending straight toward her chest to tear her heart out.
Ye-rin closed her eyes, her finger tightening around the trigger. Is this where humanity’s final tactical resistance ends?
Vooom.!
Before the monster’s claws could travel an inch closer, a violent ripple of purple cosmic light erupted out of thin air directly in front of her. Space itself fractured like glass.
Min-jae stepped out of the spatial rift, his hands casually stuffed inside his cargo pockets, his bottomless obsidian eyes locking onto the descending abomination. He didn’t lift a finger. He didn’t even shift his footing. He simply stood there, an unmoving wall of pure arrogance, shielding the stunned female general behind his back.
Crash...!
The Void Stalker’s high-velocity shadow claws slammed squarely into Min-jae’s exposed chest. The raw, Level 15 kinetic impact generated a shockwave that blew the heavy tactical table backward into the wall.
But the claws didn’t penetrate. The moment they made contact with his t-shirt, the SSS-Rank passive Vajra Retribution - Absolute Counter roared to life beneath his pores.
[Ding! Received 3,500 points of Calamity-Rank Void Physical Damage.]
[SSS-Rank Talent Active: ’Eternal Vajra Deity Body’ — Damage negated completely. Health Pool: 100/100.]
[SSS-Rank Passive Active: ’Vajra Retribution’ triggers 150% True Damage reflection!]
[Reflecting 5,250 points of True Damage to the Void Stalker’s internal life core!]
Boom..!
A horrific, blinding golden-crimson counter-blast erupted from Min-jae’s skin. The 5,250 points of True Damage traveled instantly up the monster’s claws, completely bypassing its high spatial phasing resistance and shadow armor parameters.
The Void Stalker didn’t even get to utter a final screech.
With a deafening explosion of black ichor and shattering bone, its entire twelve-foot frame violently disintegrated from the inside out. Its countless chattering teeth shattered into a million flying shards, its shadow tendrils vaporizing into gray smoke before the monster collapsed into a massive pile of dark system ash right at Min-jae’s feet.
[Ding! You have eliminated the Level 15 Void Stalker (Calamity Variant)!]
[Gained 2,200 EXP! You have leveled up! You are now Level 8!]
[Gained 10 Free Attribute Points.]
The strategy room fell into a dead, suffocating silence, broken only by the hum of the auxiliary emergency generators.
Shin Ye-rin slowly opened her steel-gray eyes, her jaw dropping as she stared at the pristine, untouched back of the young man standing in front of her. Her razor-sharp tactical mind completely short-circuited. She had mathematically calculated that a Level 15 Calamity monster required an entire military division armed with heavy artillery to neutralize. Yet, this teenager had simply stood there, taken the hit, and the monster had literally exploded into ash upon contact.
[Ding! Target ’Shin Ye-rin’ has initiated an emergency rescue allegiance calculation!]
[Current Loyalty/Trust Metric: 55% (Shocked/Captivated by Absolute Might).]
[System Synergy Active: The country’s final remaining strategic assets and 3,000 survivors are now under your implicit jurisdiction!]
Min-jae turned around slowly, his expression entirely flat as he looked down at the kneeling, gorgeous female general. He reached down, his strong, dominant grip wrapping around her slender waist as he effortlessly pulled her up against his chest. The proximity allowed her to catch his scent of cold steel and absolute power, causing her disciplined, stoic demeanor to instantly flush a deep, helpless crimson.
"The Void Stalker is dead, General," Min-jae said, his voice a low, seductive baritone that sent a deep shiver down her spine. "Your bunker belongs to me now. Your tactics, your soldiers, and those nuclear launch codes. Hand them over, and I’ll turn your final resistance into a global empire."
Ye-rin looked up into his bottomless obsidian eyes, her proud, military posture completely melting into absolute, willing submission. For the first time since the Descent, she felt a profound, unshakeable sense of security.
"I am... at your command, Monarch," she whispered, her heart racing as she surrendered her authority to him.
